here in new zealand we have a problem with deer destroying our forrest land, deer kullers here in new zealand do you armour peiceing rounds to ensure the bullets get through the forest canopy, and they use high capacity magazines to take on large groups of deer.
you americans are crazy, its either guns for everyone or guns for no ones, what is going on?!?! look at new zealands firearms laws if you are going to try and control firearms, otherwise stick the the constitution
@KiwiTomCrawford let me break 2A down for you, A well regulated militia (meaning an army that is regulated and controled rather than a rabble capable of terrorizing the people and seizing control) being necessary to the security of a free state (an army to defend the country) , the right of the people (the common populace that might be terrorized by the army) to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed (so that they can defend themselves from the army).
@fixdeluxe1 tell me in any of these countries can you purchase a cruise missile and own is legally as a civilian, because here in nz we can, in switzerland firearms other than antique and govt guns are hard to aquire and civilians cannot have fully auto weapons, here in nz we can have any non-nuclear weapon we wish, so long as you are responsible, of sound mind, free of criminal conviction, are not associated with people that commit crime and you have the proper secure storage
@KiwiTomCrawford But there are stupid clauses(i.e no-firing of automatic collectors weapons) and impractical licenses and endorsements, not to mention rarity and pricing. There are no cruise missiles for sale on the civilian market nor will there be,ever.NZ doesn't produce them and the U.S will not transfer military technology to some stupid collector on some far away island.
@fixdeluxe1 actually a man in wanganui, bought 3 patriot missile surplus to nato stock, and this person has sold 1 to another collector, he has also bought various other missiles in parrticluar he bough surplus mistral missiles of which he actually sold some number to the new zealand and australian militarys, there is a market for them in new zealand
@KiwiTomCrawford I think your a load of bullshit, and even if that was the truth, that happens on a larger scale in the U.S where tanks, armoured vehicles and fighter planes are restored and traded amongst collectors.
@fixdeluxe1 the mans name is bruce simpson he was in the news a few years back making his own cruise missiles inspired by the patriot missiles he bought, he then tested the cruise missiles without the warheads which got him in hot water, because the fuel explosion was sufficient to deem them a destructive device, he is too quite the collector, you can see some of his tanks and fighterplanes at warbirds over wanaka (google that one its quite good)
@KiwiTomCrawford No country is ideal, but there are many that are better than NZ.You can't even keep loaded weapons available for self/home defence, which one of the primary reasons people would probably own a firearm in the first place.
@fixdeluxe1 well here in new zealand we do not need to do self defence, in 2011 there were 0 home invaisions, we do not have the social problems and the economic divides of many countries.
@KiwiTomCrawford NZ does have the social problems, look at it's rising violent crime rate and increasing rates of methane-phetamine addiction,as well as recent high profile violent crimes. You seem to have a very warped view of NZ.
@fixdeluxe1 i live in southland, i dont know the entire situation about what is happening in auckland, but down here the worst we get is gang members egging eachothers head quarters, but thats in the bum part of town no one lives there
@KiwiTomCrawford And regardless of need,a right is a right and should not be infringed.Any country which does not permit the possession of weapons for self defence is oppressive.
@fixdeluxe1 to be honest i beleive that people should be able to have firearms for self denfence, but what im saying is that in new zealand it is largely not needed, in comparison with america
lol (D) from IL and he's anti-rights somehow I'm not suprised. They talk about "common sense gun control" but what they want is control, an unarmed populace is much easier to control. Look at history and understand why the founders put the 2nd ammendment in there. People can't be controled from the end of a gun if they're able to defend themselves. As far as criminals are concerned ask them where they commit crimes, where there are victims not armed citizens
Please take a moment of silence and pray for our fallen brother, Jared Lee Loughner. He is one of our greatest Christian soldiers God has ever put on this earth, next to Jesus. He did what had to be done to save our country and take back what is ours. People should follow in this great mans footsteps and sacrifice themselves for our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Let us pray and hope that the court system will finally see the light, and find it in their God fearing hearts to let him free. Amen.
@fingerme100 thats a pile horse shit....you see this is why i loathe christians like you. you support and love watching or hearing people get killed is senseless manner. a LITTLE GIRL who had nothing to do with this is DEAD. YOU COMPARING JESUS WITH A MURDERER! go to hell!
Rep. Quigley I want to personally invite you to the Indy 1500 Gun & Knife Show this weekend. I will show you first hand that the so called "gun show" loophole is nothing more than individuals who rent tables to place there collection on, and sell. These are private seller not licensed gun dealers.
Why not legislate for a phone line, where a private seller can call in a check on a potential buyer. If the seller chooses not to use it then he can be held accountable?

@KiwiTomCrawford NZ's firearms laws are repressive.....Switzerland,the Czech Republic and some U.S states are great examples of what it should be.
