its great that a railway has been rebuilt we need railways now, congestoion is horried now, I know some people are going on about the wildlife, but you can easily recreate havens along the route, people would not moan if it was not run down anyway, nice achievement anyhow. :)
so...has wirksworth become a play town?...it so looks that way, i feel for the people in wirksworth, the people that was born and raised there, you people make you selves like you are above the regular people who live there...yet you are not. know wonder i had to move to the US...when i come back, i will sort you lot out!
Hi abhudson14, I understand your point - This is not exactlty an intercity route, but on the other hand the railway has opened up a new part of the Ecclesbourne Valley that had passed me by before. The little spot called 'Hilltop' turns out to be magical for picnics. (maybe I should keep this a secret!)
Well abhudson, there are some great walks in the area.
A really good one is from Wirksworth up past Gorsey Bank then via Alport Heights and down the line of the boundary of the old Duffield Frith to Idrigedhay. The trip back by train makes the day out.

Now all the trees have gone and so has the wild life, total devastation, it looks very barron. How you got away with it i dont know!!
