I'm playing a Rogue $65 dollar model I bought from Musician's Friend (online). It's my first mandolin. It's well made and sounds real good I think for having a laminate top. So I'd definitely recommend it for an inexpensve mandolin!
@dgnewman1 I don't know if you still have that same mandolin but I have the same one and when I get a mandolin that is the first thing I check, and would just like to say that if you have a solid wood top and play enough that the tune will "mellow" and just sound better.
hey i was thinking about buying a mandolin. my only problem is i want to find one for cheap. do you know and makes of mandolin that are cheap but pretty good?
Thanks. It's just fingerpicking by following the melody. I've also got a video with the tune posted were I dub a home studio take of it onto video footage.
Thanks! Don't know what an M1 is. Is it a tank? A hurricane or a tornado? Thought it would be an interesting idea to see it in spite of the noise of the wind and such if I could get a good enough recording in the park with my little Nikon camera. I've also got another video posted here of it that was a home recording with a guitar and vocal part.

Nice original tune -- too bad about the water noise -- one never realizes it when making the recording -- only after the playback! (<:
But I thought the fingerpicking was interesting are you using any particular known pattern or is it your own brew?
Anyway it works well for you.

Why playing next to the Niagara falls?

That'd be neat to actually play next to Niagara Falls! I'll have to settle for windy parks until I can afford a visit.

The M1 is a major motor way (hiway) in England. I guess wind on an unshielded microphone can do that.
Nice playing, thanks
