GoldenEye is my favorite Brosnan era Bond film. Izabella Scorupco is one of my favorite Bond women and certainly the best leading lady for Brosnan; so soft and beautiful. I think Peirce and Izabella had the best on screen chemistry. Does anyone know other films Izabella has been in?
Eric Serra did the entire soundtrack for the film as well as this song. He also did the soundtrack for the Fifth Element, including Little Light of Love, and the soundtrack (music at least) for Leon.
@kayin72 Nope it was Eric Serra, I know it anyway but its not hard to Google it or look it up on youtube. Try it, type in little light of love fifth element. You'll get your answer
I love this song, and I love this end title's version of this song. I don't like how it feels sped up (is it?), BUT I like how they captured the most important parts of the song in three and a half minutes.
I listened to this song as a kid for the first time before seeing the movie. Emotion overcame me and I fell in love with a song and later a movie...for the first time.
@ScourgeOfGodUK Well it pretty much has the statistics to back that fact up. I mean 22 movies and each one almost makes more than the previous. Bond is a phenomenon. Imagine what Fleming would say if he knew what he created. No other film series has such a global appeal and success.
Favorite 007 movie/N64 game. Maybe it's because the game got me into the 007 movies, but I think it's because it's the 1st time Bond has to cope with a changing world where the "evil Soviets" are extinct and women are in positions of power (huh huh, I said "positions"). I'd like to see more of 006 in other movies though, I only remember seeing a glimpse of him in "Thunderball".....but most every 007 movie stands alone, which is why LTK is the only time outside OHMSS you hear Bond was married....
in all the james bond movies desmond llewlend has been in goldeneye license to kill the world is not enough tommorow never dies and a view from a kill
ha i remember in 96 me as a six year old woke up on christmas morning and there at the end of my bed "santa claus" brought me goldeneye on Video tape and an n64 and the goldeneye game
NOT many people know this, but the music composition that made it different wasn't due by Eric Serra. The mixing sounds from the movie and n64 games was pioneered from a guy named didier lozahic. He's responsible for making the soundtrack so different not eric serra. good composer though.
It's weird to hear this song at the end of GoldenEye, as it was written for Léon: The Professional (also scored by Serra). You hear the theme of this song throughout Léon, but they decided to go with Sting for the end credits. Weird that the Bond people settle for this leftover song, a reprise of the Tina Turner song would've been better.
@Koborover: I don't know. Some of the lyrics correpsond to this film. "It's what keeps you alive/alone." That is from dialogue on the beach in Cuba. Maybe the script was alterred to correspond to the song. Who knows.
At least in DAD there were SOME decent Bond-esque moments (the sword fight and the car chase on ice). But I do agree that the cgi ruined a large portion of the film.
i say this was the best bond film cause it was real creative, bond facing someone that's also from MI6, meaning the villian is just like bond, i mean come on that's awesome!
@ulllshowmaster. Sorry but I disagree. As good as TD was I think Pierce is what makes Goldeneye so great. The whole point of Goldeneye is that it is meant to bring Bond into the new, post cold war, world and give the character a freash feel. I frankly can't imagine anyone else in the film.
The song won't get all that much recognition as it was just at the very end of Goldeneye (the best Bond film), not mainstream, but it's nice, it's poignant
In all honesty, I reckon Brosnan was an awesome Bond. But in saying that, he got screwed over big time with the crappy roles he was given for DND, TND, and TWINE.
Notice - Goldeneye was actually not the work of Ian Fleming, but Michael France
I found out just yesterday that Xenia Onatopp was played by the same girl as Jean Gray (aka The Phoenix) from X-Men. Dammit, I KNEW I'd seen her somewhere...
Could be worse.. I could be posting negative comments in a thread that's regarding the very thing people come to this URL for like others LOL (And they wonder why people give them the thumbs down.. hehe)
Hey I completely agree, I can't decide if it's my favourite Bond film, but it's up there. And GoldenEye 007 is definitely the best game ever made, I still pull out the ol' 64 occasionally and play some missions.
I'd actually been playing it lately (but using N64 -> USB controller adaptor and a N64 emulator) - that's why I watched the movie, but it cut out at the end, so I just watched the rest here. Didn't miss much. = \
Good movie though, hadn't seen it since I was about 7, and I didn't really expect it to be as good as it was.
I disliked Daniel Craig for Casino Royale, which sucked (i.m.o), but Quantum of Solace was excellent, so I guess I'm awaiting the next 007 film!
@NSLM The best game for sure, but I don't agree it's the best movie (and defiantly one of the worse end credit songs, not that anyone cares about that)
But I completely see where your coming from about the negative comments. I disagree so why should I waste both our time saying you're gay/an idiot/not a true bond fan, u can reply insults back so we can both walk away pissed off for no real reason when we can point out and talk about our reasons why we disagree and both walk away more educated
Relax, I don't go youtubing to look for arguments, and I'm actually not as immature as many of the people on here, so it won't start anything if you disagree. I must say the ending song is pretty crap imo, but maybe i just like the movie because of the nostalgia that it brings me. I don't know
I do know that Goldeneye 007 is tip top, and it had a BADASS soundtrack! surely there's no disagreeing with that!
if i was kidding i wouldn't put this on youtube, despite the great use of CGI i liked this movie have good sequences, dialog, action the invisible car, and the final sequence on the airplane for me is one of the best but the best movie is from russia with love

@NSLM Well i don't know if they can be wrong, but goldeneye fans will be glad to know that i gave the movie a second chance and i loved it, but i still like DAD.
@JTNews90 The acting wasn't very good, CGI was overdone and obvious, the story re-used bits from old Bond movies, but most of all it just didn't seem like a proper Bond movie, it had a generic-action-movie feel to it. As it's own movie it's okay, there's some good stunts and explosions, and the ladies are HOT, but as a Bond movie it failed.
@mrmaestrom I agree that DAD was far from perfect but to me it still felt like a Bond movie. Toby Stephens was a good, classically OTT Bond villain. The one that didn't IMO was Quantum of Solace. The characters in that were weak, the villain and the girl were not particularly memorable and the Bourne style action sequences were rather mediocre.
DAD was overdone, but remember that this was to mark the 40th anniversary of the film series, and the 20th ("Your new gun. Your 20th, I believe."). I did love the reference to the real James Bond, the Orinthologist, whose book, "Bird of the West Indies," was on Fleming's coffee table (Remember the scene in the fake Cuba, where Bond picks up the book in his contact's library, and the subsequent mention of it to Jinx during their first meeting. As a homage, it succeeded to a degree.
@mrmaestrom I think it's fair to say that James Bond died as a film franchise the minute Desmond Llewelyn died and Brosnan left. Craig is not a good film Bond, he doesn't have that cheeky swagger that Brosnan, Moore & Connery were so good at. The Craig effort at Bond is a great action hero, and I enjoy the movies as action films, but they're not Bond like most Bond fans have been used to for so long.
