@frankfranklyn Honestly, I never heard the spelling to which you refer. After all, the "u" before the "ous" is pronounced. I just googled "superflous" and google asks me Did you mean: superfluous? So google considers "superfluous" as normative. Also, there are nearly 4M google results for "superfluous", but only 68K for "superflous". So while I won't say any longer that you're wrong, I am still correct that "superfluous" is the preferred spelling. And no offense intended, BTW.
