  • What a Brit accent! so cool!

  • Persia fucked uk

  • great video

can you make video how to record rome total war

  • Pools of sorrow, waves of joy, drifting through my open mind... Nice Beatles reference, :D

  • these videos are mind blowing as always, but i must ask a question

I've been meaning to buy a copy of RTW for a while now, but I've been looking and am seeing plenty of other TW choices

if you don't mind, what would you reccommend, and what would the price be (a guess is perfectly fine)

as always, great videos, keep up the great work

  • @winna077 They're all available on Steam. RTW w/expansions £10, Medieval 2 w/exp £15, Empire/Napoleon together £30 (convert into US currency). Shogun 2 available on pre-order - coming out 15th March. Interest in a particular historical period will affect your choice. If you want in on a new game as it breaks, go for Shogun 2 - but be aware all the TW games have had grave issues that took quite some time to patch adequately - we'll have to wait and see if it's the same with Shogun 2.

  • your videos are fukcing awesome, I'm so glad I have subscribed

  • Well, why don't we get something striaght here?? Persian army got decimated by the Greeks on more than one occasion & I am talking about the entire persian army. Even against Porus, who was just one small warlord in the north of India, Greeks did zilch. Same was the case with Semiramis and Cyrus the great before her. They couldn't even get past the frontiers of India, let alone fight the kingdom of Magadha in the North & I have not even started talking about the mighty south indian empires yet.

  • @adityabose26 india was ruled by 300 hunderd thousd manily indian soldiers working for the British empire for 300 hunderd years. you should also mention this very fact that how they disgraced you, mistreated you and abused you for 300 hunderd years with your own people acting as their soldiers and officers and abusing and killing other indians for the good well being of their english masters

  • every one know persians were the best and are the best and indians just living in jungle and have no education and skills and more important no guts to accomplish anything they just can serve their white master and back stab their own people any one who knows even one indian sure understand it. so u can dream of indians winning anything sorry to say that but will no come true in anyones life time.

  • @mnomigol wat a stupid slave u r...go n check history, indians were the pioneers in physics, astronomy, mathematics, chemistry, medicine and spirituality.....u white dogs were just pig farmers who roamed jungles,naked.......the indians most powerful army in the ancient world....for example, alexander, although he had a greater army in number lost to king porus ,a minor indian king.....the muslims defeated the entire ancient empires, but took more than 200 years to just set their foot on the indian soil.

  • I would finish this video, but this youtube is JTFU so it wont sdtop buffering.

  • yes they do

  • Thanks, scarnaby.

  • @ClunytheScourge1 great battle and you have a fantastic sense of humour ! psychedelic elephants indeed ! LOL

  • Man you are way better than PoM. You have a better understanding of tactics i'd say.

  • wooooo, indiaaaaa. i want this expansion noww lol

  • English Longbow men vs Indian Longbow men. Who would win?

  • The age-old locker room question. In our 21st century battle laboratory we have assembled doctors, martial artists, weapons experts and computer technicians to find out - WHO - IS - DEADLIEST?

  • @ClunytheScourge1 hahahaha, deadliest warrior is the best show ever xDD

  • @ClunytheScourge1

Yeah, its just like comparing Macedonian Combine of Arms vs Roman Maniple Tactics. Infinite Loop.

  • @aced1592 i think the english long bowman as they have barbed arrows but that depends how much you train (i think) or how lucky your shots can be.

  • This chap excellently paraphrases traditional eastern tactics

  • are elephants better than chariots when pitted against each oher?

  • Good question. I have no clue. Both are fear-inducing units, but non-Vanilla-Scythed chariots don't suffer from the risk of running amok as elephants do - ultimately it must come down to whether the elephants greater hit-points and anti-cavalry striking power does enough damage to the chariots in time before they take fright and go amok. It isn't a certain calculation - the chariots could get lucky, especially with multiple units. I'd run tests in Custom mode before I formed an opinion.

  • i tried it. elephants will rip apart chariots.

  • @ClunytheScourge1 which expansion is this ?

  • I have had elephants fight chariots. What results is that each chariot typically inflicts one wound to each elephant it touches, then dies instantly, much as the chariot would die contacting pikes. So the elephants take some damage, but the chariots suffer far more, and will break.

  • Thanks man! Always wanted to find out... my friend borrowed my RTW CD so i cannot find out myself.

  • lol never attack up hill exspecialy aginst archers or is that a hill cant tell to good

  • impressive, most impressive

  • Obi-Wan taught you well.

  • oyou ly any empire ttal war? I havbeen playin the total war seie ince he MTW1 (missed shogun). I take it you study history suchlike myself. I have been studying classical wrfae for about 12 yrs now and I must say your thought process displays that of a great general. Although I do recognize your pattern that you have borrowed from Sun Tzu. Of course thats not a bad thing but Iam probably the only one to see it.

  • not realy- i think that he used Foch werbes" ataqez ataquez atauez"

  • BY THAT I MEAN HE WAS COUNTER HEAVY AND RESOURCE DRIVEN WHEN USING HIS SOLDIERS. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. sUN tZU WAS FAMOUS FOR FORCING THE ENEMY TO FIGHT HIS FIGHT AND ONLY USING AS FEW MEN AS POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN AN OBJECTIVE.

  • rofl Obi-Wan rulz :D he has taught him well :P

  • Probably one of the best commentaries I have ever watched on youtube, excellent job scourge! :o

  • You're welcome, Janikus.

  • Alexander expansion rocks india and persia best factions ^^ cant wait to finish DL the Alexander expansion great video love that u used elephants hipi elephants ^^ 5/5

  • lol awesome commentary

  • 3:20 was some hilarious commentary.

  • Always good to know my clowning around is actually amusing people, and not just making me sound like an idiot.

  • your a very funny person, i wish there were more people like you on youtube

  • You do... You do...

One of the funiest 'tubers around!

    :D

  • You are brilliant, lol. I enjoy using factions with elephants, mostly because I like to see my enemies fly as the beasts crash into their flanks....yet I tend not to rely heavily on them because they almost always get hit by onagers and run amok.XD funny commentaries man

  • Yes, I've fought a few battles online where I took nothing but elephants, just for the spectacle. I always lost, as you'd expect, but it looked great.

  • damn, great battle

  • Thanks, sup.

  • is Selifator like the only person whos online in barbarian invasion and alexander?

  • Ha! No, though opponents are harder to find than for the original RTW - the problem is that the lobbies for the original and the two expansions are separate. It's basically impossible to get a "casual" game in BI or ALX - you have to make contacts and schedule games with them beforehand. And Selifator happens to be an internet friend I've played with a few times. But you can find some of my battle videos in BI/ALX where I played with other opponents, e.g. Jacques, Sparrabarra and Quintus.

  • I've never found peace-loving psychedelic elephants THAT disturbing...:)

  • I have. I see them in my nightmares.

  • Awesome match ... Do you have the original Rome?

    Add my Xfire - rtwtaoh

    Btw ... I want a game..

  • Weren't Selifator the one playing as the Seleucid Empire in one of your Prize-videos for the Elysium tournament?

  • He sure was. I've played with him fairly often, so he's made more frequent appearances in my videos than most. He's also my opponent in 4 of my BI videos, and in the Pre-Marian Rome v. Pre-Marian Rome video, and one of the opponents in the BI 2v2 - and he was my v2v2 ally in all of the TWC Historical Battle Tournament videos I've done. he was my opponent too.

  • Then I assume he is a good player, as well as you.. He just seems to have a tendency of bad luck in his fights. By the way, I had to ask you, how often do you host tournaments? Is any fair player allowed to enter or is it just for certain people?

  • He is indeed a good player. As for tournaments, not very often - I've only done three of them, and since I'm playing less and less RTW these days it's unlikely I'm going to do anymore any time soon. The ones I hosted, though, were open to anyone at all who was interested, though I didn't advertise them very widely.

  • Aha. How do you host them? Are you just starting up fights with the name "2v2 Tournament" or "Elysium Tournament". How do you host them? I'm anxious to know.

  • There are forum websites for TW fans and I'm a long-time poster at the TWC (the Total War Center). To get contestants I posted threads in the RTW Multiplayer sub-forum there and sent PMs. The 2v2-players just scheduled the battles themselves and posted results, and for the Elysium tourney we all got together in the Gamespy Chat Lobby at the same time one Sunday evening. If you do a search for the website, and then a forum search for my threads in that sub-forum you'll find those 3 tournaments.

  • My thanks, Cluny. I hope I'll face you in a multiplayer battle sometime. By the way, do you have Xfire or perhaps Facebook?

  • I have x-fire and use it occasionally. If you message me your ID I'll put your name on my Friend list and we might see each other around sometime.

  • Once again, many thanks. Have a nice day.

  • Are you geting Empire: Total war?

  • Eventually, I would expect. Though not for some fair time.

  • You're good...preety good...You own man!

  • I guess, but I'd prefer to own woman; it's saucier.

  • great video but it took me forever to watch cuz it stopped constantly to reload that little light red bar in front of the dark red bar idk if it was my computer or the video

  • Either Youtube, or your connection, so that you're getting a slow transfer rate.

  • what kinda fool puts elephants in a battle

only Indians can do this right

    GO INDIA

    SUK PERSIANS!

  • all though pretty well planned out

  • I'm assuming you and "Selifator" are good friends

  • Pretty much - we've played many times, and partnered up as 2v2 allies in two tournaments. He's a good player who frequents the twcenter.

  • yeah your vids are good!!!

why you dont play persia??????? :(

  • I have a video of Persia v Macedon where I played as Persia.

  • i know!! :)

  • Agreed, his vids are the best of all RTW posted on youtube.

  • pretty sick battle

  • Wicked sick, dog, yo.

  • yeah i like the barbarian invasion videos were good too

  • That was uhh...slightly poetic about the elephants.

  • Thank the Beatles, not me.

  • but yeah, I really liked your barbarian invasion battle videos. Hope you make more of them :)

  • speaking of pink elefants; there's this rather amusing general's speech in M2TW, which can be heard in the campaign at least. It requires either the "drunkard" or "utterly insane" trait, or something like that. The general conveniently starts speaking about green pixies and pink elefants :D

  • I've never got to hear most of those crazier speech lines in RTW, because I was always too conscientious in keeping my crazier generals away from battle. The only one I ever got to hear was "And beware...beware...the enemy have not had honey for many a day, for I have eaten their bees."

  • Actually It's probable that they are drunk, instead of stoned,as it was the common practice in the ancient world to get the elephants drunk before battle, they weren't so easy to frighten with flaming arrows that way..

  • I seem to remember from the Disney movie Dumbo, an important source of instructional material in all elephant-related matters, that when elephants get drunk they see pink elephants the way humans do.

  • very nice!

  • I love how disturbed you get from the elephants. It's hilarious.

  • Those elephants are capable of anything in the midst of their reefer-madness.
