In her eyes the burnings were totally justified. Her reputation as *Bloody* is highly overrated. Mary burned 280or300 people while her father executed 72,000+ during his reign. Her maternal grandparents Isabella&Ferdinand ordered the death and banishments of many jews and muslims because they won't convert to Catholicism,

Many Catholic leaders during that time were burning religious opposers even though they didn't experience what Mary did. It was simply their believe that heretics are to be burned. Mary wasn't doing anything unusual with the protestants and if you compare the numbers of people she killed to other leaders its pretty mild

Strange enough, Anne of Cleves was the only one of Henry's wives that had the hips for it, and he got rid of her!

Most peasants were thinner and frailer than the nobility because they didn't have protection from famine. All of Henry's wives were from strong stock and healthy families. It seems that if any "blame" is to be placed for having weak or sickly children must be placed at the feet of Henry.
