I like Mora knives, but the handles are mega flimsy if you put them through too much, I know somebody whose handle broke cutting Reikäleipä bread with their Mora.
wow i need to try that some time, i beat the crap out of my mora #1 but it doesn't really have any problems and i dont care if it breaks because it was $8 :)
Cool! You made it look a lot easier than I had expected. I’m guessing these methods work better with a thinner blade knife vs. one with a beefy thick blade?
I noticed in comments that you said your knife was a Mora 740 carbon, but that they don't make it anymore. Can you recommend a Mora and a good place online to purchase it?
This is not a diss on iawoodsman. He's showing what you can do if you _had_ to. I would never do this as except as a last resort because that is how you break the handle on a mora.
The first method is awesome! Does it work with about 2-4 cm thick pieces of Hazel, too? Because then I wouldn't have to carry a folding saw with me all the time.
I just read a description of that second technique you used earlier today, but couldn't quite picture how it could work. Interesting demonstration. Have you ever broken a Mora doing that? It's almost painful to watch. :)
Wow this is helpful I think I know that to do know! But where can I get a Mora knife? This video is awesome! I learned something new today! This is awesome!!!!!
Great vid! You can do with your mora everything what you need, from cutting small trees to making fire with flint. I like that you don't need expensive bushcraft knife. I also have only one mora, and it is my best partner in the woods. 5*
Ia and I know each other, it's just a little joke. He knows what I'm talking about. Not trying to take away from his vids, the man is skilled. No doubt about it.
Those are two great skills to learn. Thanks!
