  • Those are two great skills to learn. Thanks!

  • If only Star Wars lightsabers were real. Itll make the job easier.

  • What model are you using?

  • @aodfan It is a carbon 740 MG

  • First time I've seen that done. Well impressed how clean the cut is

  • I like Mora knives, but the handles are mega flimsy if you put them through too much, I know somebody whose handle broke cutting Reikäleipä bread with their Mora.

  • whats the name of this mora modell?

  • Dude! You went through that first one faster than a chainsaw. It takes me longer to cut up a hotdog. LOL

  • wow i need to try that some time, i beat the crap out of my mora #1 but it doesn't really have any problems and i dont care if it breaks because it was $8 :)

  • great vid. but using your own advice of not cutting straight across through all the fibres, why not use the same idea with your second method?

  • This video tutorial is going to win me so many bets... ^_^

  • shit i did nt think you was going to go though it that fast

  • Cool! You made it look a lot easier than I had expected. I’m guessing these methods work better with a thinner blade knife vs. one with a beefy thick blade?

  • Wow, if the rumors are true that moras are for one day use in Sweden, they must cut down an entire forestw ith one xD

  • good techniques....thanks.

  • Interesting. I did not know the second technique.

  • Good videos but, I must be getting old because I have a hard time hearing you on your videos..

  • Shows how sharp and tough Mora knives are.Great video.

  • I didnt realize until today that this was your video, but it was one of the reasons I bought a Mora last year!

  • I noticed in comments that you said your knife was a Mora 740 carbon, but that they don't make it anymore. Can you recommend a Mora and a good place online to purchase it?

  • LMAO owned by physics, who needs to chop when u can do that lol am still thrashing my RATs though, just cuz warranty says they don't break.

  • @3antaralhatab The Clipper is a good model. Bushcraft Outfitters has several Moras to choose from.

  • That second way of cuttin that down was straight up pimp. I've never seen that before.

  • I am learning so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

  • hahah i love cutting trees down with my kabar

  • WOw. This was very impressive. Especially the second cut. I never imagined you you could do that. Great video.

  • which mora was this? just wondering

  • Good vid on the technique and on how tough a mora is.

  • This is not a diss on iawoodsman. He's showing what you can do if you _had_ to. I would never do this as except as a last resort because that is how you break the handle on a mora.

  • The first method is awesome! Does it work with about 2-4 cm thick pieces of Hazel, too? Because then I wouldn't have to carry a folding saw with me all the time.

  • @666eistee If Hazel is soft I would say yes.

  • @iawoodsman Yeah, Hazel is soft. Great, I'll try it this weekend. Thanks for the quick response! :)

  • @666eistee

It's a common technique. Hazel branches are soft. That's not a problem.

  • Great video bud, Very impressive. Just wondering how you clean the Carbon Steel?

  • @CiaranRooney125 I use 1200 grit sand paper.

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • good method when a knive is the only thing you´ve got...but i prefer taking a folding saw with me anyway...

  • That is pretty amazing. Those Mora knives are unbelievably tough.

  • nice job, never thought of that. I thought you were going to baton it through.

  • a brutal lil mora knife! :"D

  • Who's awesome? You're awesome!

  • Oh poor moras, they are the most abused knives out there. Just ordered a whole bunch of them, hope they will serve me well :D

  • I just read a description of that second technique you used earlier today, but couldn't quite picture how it could work. Interesting demonstration. Have you ever broken a Mora doing that? It's almost painful to watch. :)

  • @CanItAlready Never broke a Mora, but I did break a USAF survival knife cutting down a birch tree in Alaska.

  • @iawoodsman

    Go figure. LOL

  • Do you use a stainless steel mora or a carbon steel mora?

  • @sicFear Carbon Steel

  • So i am wondering... Is that an enzo sheath?

  • @GUITARISTKRC No sir, that is a sheath I made.

  • I've never seen that second method before

  • dude holy shit thanks a bunch this will help allot!!!!

  • Sweet...

  • absolutely brilliant video

  • very nice bend and cut technique. very usefull. thanks

  • THAT is awesome! :0)

  • Excellent video! This is probably the smartest method I've seen to take down a tree with a smaller knife. Thanks for sharing!!

  • Nice techniques, thanks.

  • Wow this is helpful I think I know that to do know! But where can I get a Mora knife? This video is awesome! I learned something new today! This is awesome!!!!!

  • That was really cool to watch!

  • Awesome! Thanks.

  • Very nice vid. Thx.

  • That was impressive cut. I have the Mora Scout and have three more Moras on the way.

  • Great vid! You can do with your mora everything what you need, from cutting small trees to making fire with flint. I like that you don't need expensive bushcraft knife. I also have only one mora, and it is my best partner in the woods. 5*

  • Skills.

  • That was awesome, man. Great job.

  • basswood is about as hard as cold butter. it is used for carving decoys and making window blinds buzz

  • You are correct, Basswood is a soft wood. It is also one of my favorites.

  • :o

    first time i see this!

    *learned something new today*

    :)

  • thanks ia woodsman. and glad you guys had fun at the meet( 2nd Chance)

  • Excellent vid, Ia. You need a different color handle on that mora though. You know what color I'm thinking. Great stuff as usual , man.

    Love your vids.

  • ??? Please enlighten me.

  • Don,

Ia and I know each other, it's just a little joke. He knows what I'm talking about. Not trying to take away from his vids, the man is skilled. No doubt about it.

    Later

  • all right.

I just wanted to understand the joke

    ;-)

  • Bindle wants to get me a pink handle. Thats the joke. We started our banter at the MO Bushcraft Meet.

  • I owe it all to my Mora

  • That is slicker than goose poop!

  • Is there anything a Mora can't do?

  • Who needs a stinking axe. That was slick Bro.

  • damn fine work, great knife torture test for sure, I dont think I have ever tried taking down such a thick tree with a knife.

  • WOW! That Mora na certainly get a beating! Good job 5/5

  • I love that trick hehe. Nice one! 5/5

  • what kind of mora is that?

  • I think the 740 carbon. I don't think they make it anymore.
