Now for MafiaZ...what I want to know is what "soda" is being referred to and what dye? Normally dyes used in smoke are very specific such as analine types. Burn rate modifiers/coolants are usually lactose and not "soda's" so I'm really curious as to what you used. Nice smoke effect you achieved though!

cool stuff but cooking it over an open flame is dumb especially inside. it's a great way to smoke damage yer house or get burned trying to get it out since you can't stop the reaction once it starts (it burns hot enough to vaporize aluminum). The mix has its own supply of oxygen to sustain the reaction in the potassium nitrate. I try to always cook mine outside and never over a flame. Being a happy pyro necessitates having a smart plan.

Made this mixture 3 parts postassium nitrate 2 parts sugar and 5% baking soda and. Mixed it up in a pan and poured it into a cardboard tube left the top open. It was actually a frigging rocket that blew up just after it shot off my porch at lightening speed and landed in the neighbors yard. Glad I didn't get hit in the face or anywhere for that matter. Be carefully how you mix crap together and light it. Always where face protection.

@kingcorey100 i've had 2 blow outs while making rocket candy, i'd never do this inside the house. Sugar is wicked flammable. If i had a huge kitchen with SS surfaces and huge vent hood, maybe i'd do it inside. Remember, if your making rocket candy or the varients of pyr0-sugartechnix, if you see smoke, take it off the heat and stir right away. You'll see lil puffballs of smoke coming out of the bubbles.
