"The pillars of the Earth" was simply magnificent as well as the tv show. If a series is made off the sequel, Id really be interested in it!

Absolutely phenomenal book. I read/listened to both Pillars and World Without End this year. The narration is stellar. I loved World Without End. I couldn't get enough of it.

I LOVE THIS BOOK and the audio book is phenomenal!!! 36 discs each little over an hour long. Pure Addiction!!!!!

I need to get POTE on CD audio book, too. Someone stole it from the local library so I can't borrow it anymore. x(

I love this book. Right now, i'm just taking a break from reading it. I do though, until now, (i haven't read all of it) prefer pillars of the earth. I think it was more exciting and more impressive speaking of language-use. But we'll see.. Maybe it'll get even more exciting on the next pages! :)

Ken Follett is a brilliant novelist. Since he did a sequel to Pillars of the Earth, I'm hoping he'll write a sequel to Hornet Flight.

Great book! I am nearing page 600 and really enjoying it as I did with Pillars of the Earth---but PotE is far superior in context.

It does parallel Pillars of the Earth often, but that adds to the flavor! The characters are static, but that's what gives the story such a fairytale flavor. Good vs. evil. It's not the most historical novel, but the fantasy is what makes it great.

I can see how everyone is so fond of World WIthout end!?!

No doubt he is a good writer, but his charecters are all stiff, and sometimes just exaggeratingly good or evil, only the main chars.( the good ones that is mostly) are smart all others are dumb as a loaf of bread.

Also the storyline reminds me A LOT of the building of a cathedral in England which name i unfortunately forgot..it basically is the same but that one happend for real.

But I rly njoyd Pillars of The Earth that was a great book.

A movie of pillars would be about ten hours long. What they should do is show a weekly episode, an hour long - followed by world without end.

And with all the unnecessary sex in World without End, the 2nd part would have to be rated N-17, N for nasty. Here's a concept, they can imply all that stuff and still have a pretty good movie, but Pillars is the best. I have read it more than 5 times. Awesome.

Why is it awesome? I read 40+ pages of Pillars and dumped it because of the dull (no better than average writing style) and ever since wondered WHY it is so popular and WHY it was reprinted in a large volume???

I'm reading it. can't stop. A movie would be ok but only if it's good. Difficult with such a good book. The better the book the worse the movie and the worse the book the better the movie. Ask script writers.
