@ikkeennigij121 first of all this is about a year old anyway white screen is no differnt from green or blue i think green or blue is best i jusst didnt have access to those color screens at tghe time. anyway i just duplicated teh layer and made it 3d and added curves and adjusted it untill it made a sillhouette of me and adjusted the opacity and rotated and mocved te 3d layer untill it looked like a shadow

@TDO615 Not neccesarily... If the color is the same or even close to the same color as your skin, then it will key out your skin too. That's why green and blue are used, because they are the furthest colors away from your skin tone. I've just never heard of anyone using a white screen before. Just maybe for matting.

Hey you have some nice stuff in there but one thing I recommend when you're doing your reel or portfolio, use your stuff not things you saw in a tutorial because you know videocopilot is very famous and everybody knows about it, so they can tell you just followed a tutorial but anyways you're doing a good job keep learning and have fun! :)

I totally agree with you. I hate when 10-16 years old kids are claiming that they did the effect but they just copied another VideoCopilot tutorial. This is why there is like 1000 kids each year who want to get in the industry but only a small amount suceed, the other are not creative enough to produce their own stuff.

@Mik3469 well im 15 buddy ;) I' ve also followed andrew's tutorials to get me started and learn, here the thing is that instead of doing the exact same thinng that he does, you have to make it your own, add shit you like, use what you've learned and try to make it better, take it a step forward, find out "why" and not "how". but anyways just keep making stuff and keep having fun ;)

@Mik3469 it's like learning a language. you may be able to count "uno, dos, tres", but can you say a full, detailed sentence in spanish with the proper and correct grammar? people use those video copilot tutorials as their "tutors" to help them get comfortable with the effect and what they have to tinker with before they become comfortable with the effect and program itself to create their own effects. but yes, i agree, some do not put effort into it.

For your age, your stuff is good. It's not really impressive at all to be honest, but the things you're doing will help you become better at compositing and at using After Effects.

You should work on a couple things, like trying to make effects that fit more in your shots. I know you're probably not trying for much realism with your energy balls and lightsabers, but just try to make them look a little more like they belong. Make the glow on your hand / clothes.

Details are key in this business.

Even little things, like timings are very important with effects. Like I said, I know you're probably not going for complete realism here but it's something to consider for the future.

Also, for your green screen you shouldn't be using a "white screen." True, it may be the only thing available, but blue and green screens are used for many reasons, a few being that skin tones are red - green and blue are the furthest from red in the colour spectrum

and as well, in your videos, they're comprised of three channels (disregarding alpha for now) - red, green, and blue. Since we don't usually want to key out actors' faces, we choose a background that's furthest away (in terms of colour) from them.

Either way, keep up the work, keep doing tutorials, but instead of doing a tutorial exactly, take what you learn in it and apply it to something of your own. Don't even do the same thing, take that knowledge and adapt it to make something new.

easy i make a elipse then i add trapcode shine then i add feather and fractal noise wrap back a little radial blur some of the wrap back animation and minimization and thats it it went a away a little early and that was my second effect i had no idea there were even presets
