  • Churchill's bodyguard was Inspector Thompson of Scotland Yard. After he retired, Insp. Thompson wrote an interesting memoir of his years guarding Sir Winston.

  • "You can rely on Singapore.....an impenetrable fortress....I got a first class general there..."

    YIKES!!!

  • @amartinjoe Well that General did predict how the Japanese would invade but was overuled by higher-ups, not Winston.

  • Ô England, past beauty and deep green hills, Combes and hedges, from the beaches to the feilds Crumpets and butter, tea'd down December nights Amidst family warmth and fireplace lights England, how i miss your soul's delight Land she once was, but where now we must fight The enemies within, wherever they may blight In the shadows of Churchill's darkest night Old England... The old, the never ending memory Pastures, fluffy clouds, blue skies... bright and free !
  • Churchill did not fly across the Atlantic in a C-47 with a staff of 3 people. He travelled with a very large staff in the battleship "Duke of York" for 10 days, presiding over planning conferences every day. I could not discover how he returned in mid-January.

  • @westlock Yes you are right - my father was on the ship although Churchill's presence was kept secret at the time !!

  • Is that young man his bumboy?

  • did he say "dr puberty"?

  • Doesn't Churchill's doctor look just like Ronald Reagan?

  • @Nikifuj908 yes lol

  • LOL! The power of the towel is priceless xD "As you can see, Mr. President, I don't have anything to conceal from you" xD

  • "Don't tell me what to do! If I want to declare war I'll bloody well declare it!"

  • 4:05 "The trend of civilization is ever upward"... "Doubt cramps energy", "Belief is power..."

I like what FDR's Rev. Dr. Endicott Peabody (1857-1944) has to say.

Trivia 1: Actress Kyra Sedgwick is one of Dr. Peabody's great grandchildren.

Trivia 2: Diana, Princess of Wales is 6th Cousin (twice removed) to Sir Winston Spencer-Churchill.

  • "To believe is to be strong. Doubt cramps energy. Belief is power."

"One thing I'm sure of whether you believe or disbelieve, it is a wicked thing to take away man's hope."
