Ray Bourque went to Colorado to win a cup and he played an extra season to do it. And the between the 97 cup it was 1955 hardly a great thing to be proud of .Until the 2000s when detroit had unlimited cap and the fights came way down. Sure they are good but they were not good for a long long time.

Konstantinov was proof that Russians could hold their own and be tough. They probably were soft and unphysical in the 70s but by the 90s there were some tough cookies in there and some weren't afraid to get into a fight.
