"Astro Boy" (2009) Movie Review

I loved the movie! It was so cute! Touching to, made me cry a bit, but still, this movie is awsome! I admit, I`m not a fan of the cartoon either, but the movie, as you know of what I said, a huge fan!

What do you mean you haven't seen the original series? Astro boy was a pure classic, this movie was complete SHIT. It was filled with pop culture garbage which just made me pissed off. 2009- Tobi dies in a lab accident. 1963 - Tobi dies after getting hit by a bus... if they Re-Make Kimba The White Lion, make it all CGI crap. I'm so going to whack someone with a baseball bat.

i loved this movie, and it made me watch the series wich i did (just the 2003 one though, i'll watch the 80's one next, then the original). thanks to this movie, i'm a astro boy fan! i only watched the first ep of the original series, and it was pretty good. i liked it.

I thought this movie was AWFUL, there was no real emotion, the action is unconvincing, the CGI was recycled, and the story was predictable and cliched, u wanna watch an animated movie that covers the loss of someone you love, watch UP

personally, i think this movie could have been better. it was too kid friendly and had stupid dialogue, worthless robot characters, bad movie moments, and just.....i don't know. i just really would have liked this movie if it was more like the anime. the characters should look more anime-ish in the film. it even hints at a sequel! but i seriously think it doesn't deserve a sequel at all. ever. i wanted to like this movie, but i just don't care for this version of astro boy. which disappoints me.

Truly and honestly, when I first saw the trailer for this movie, I didn't want to go see it, thinking it wouldn't be that awesome. But against my own opinions of it, I went and saw it with my mother and a couple friends.

Now I am in LOVE with this movie! It's so cute and it made me cry more than I'd like to count. I loved Toby/Astro because he was just so sweet and adorable, he truly was amazing. XD I give it a definate 5/5.

It's good to see people at least give this film credit where it's due. Everyone goes on and on about how it's unoriginal and the like, but hey, it's as faithful to the show as is needed and besides, the show wouldn't be classified as all that original these days either. I say it's definately worth at least one watch.

I saw this at the cinema on the weekend, it was a great movie with a great cast and an entertaining yet touching plot. I wasnt a fan of the cartoon either, but the movie has made me a fan and I hope there will be more.
