@JocasseeFender Thank you. The video is very accurate in capturing the acoustic guitars character as it sounded through the acoustic amp in the room. Micing or using a pickup on an acoustic live is always a compromise but the K&K products are very musical in capturing the acoustic guitars nuances.
@JocasseeFender The demo was done to K&K specifications. The Meridian mic is primarily for "live use" not DAWs in the studio, so they wanted this demo to capture the mics sound of the guitar through an acoustic amp from the players listening perspective, just as though they're listening to their acoustic amp onstage.
I really want this mic setup but in another review it mentions that the mic cannot be used with a pre amp that provides 48 volt phantom power and that the meridian pre is noisy. Is this to reduce feedback(lower voltage pre) or to keep k and k pre amp in the game?
Well done Greg! Great playing and demo. We've been a K&K dealer and highly devoted to their products for years. This video just caused me to put together a new P.O. for a few of these mic's/preamps. ;-) This is the first time I'd seen this system.
hey greg, could you school me on mic position and acoustic tone? I know it's not something that can be answered in just one post here on youtube but I'm curious on how the tone is affected by the placement of this mic. Thanks!
cool sound : )

Wow that does sound very natural.

if i sing while playing, will the mic pick up on the vocals?
MidouBanChan 11 months ago
@MidouBanChan I don't think so, at least not enough to be heard well.

i agree with OgreDaddy this looks like a great way to NOT destroy a precious acoustic guitar but still amplify it.

Your presentation is great. It's too bad one can't find anymore of these presentations, as good as yours or any at all. Keep doing the great work!

What you were playing directly before 2:40 was BEAUTIFUL.

@rockabilly12 And how! It actually sounds like an acoustic guitar instead of a crappy piezo pickup. It's about time!

Cool to hear you play acoustically.
roknfnrol 1 year ago
Sounds way better then a pickup, captures the character of the wood and none of that nasty "zing".
Needless to say, great playing as usual!
