Not quite a kit & not quite a shelby, more like a dealer add on, all Berger Camaro's were built it Grand Rapids, Michigan and you could order your Berger Camaro (Phase 1,2&3) from them. I'm not sure what phase this Camaro is (Probably Phase 1) but its definitely nice.

Phase 2 if I'm not mistaken. Phase 1 cars were generally 380 HP. Phase 3 were anywhere from 575 to 630 HP for the Phase 3 X.

Berger was a dealer upgrade package that was available from their dealership network. They offered packages for the 1st and 2nd generation Camaros when they came out. Idk if they offered anything for the 3rd generation Camaros. If I'm not mistaken, most of the work on these and the Blackbird Trans Ams was handled by another company, GMMG. The cars were only marketed as Berger Camaros.

GMMG did indeed do the Berger Camaro's and "Blackbird" Trans Ams. Think only like 50 or 52 "Blackbirds" were made. Extremely rare (much more so then the Firehawks).

SLP did the "Firehawk" Trans Ams and their own Camaro upgrades including the 2002 35th LE 405HP "SLP" SS. In which that upgrade used the all aluminum LS6 engine as opposed to the iron block LS1 with LS6 heads/intake used in the Z28/SS packages in 01-02 (98-00 LS1's didnt use the LS6 heads/intake).

To put it simply TCS, as utilized by Ford, cuts ignition like a revlimiter, to get wheels back in sync on speed. ASR, as utilized by Chevrolet in the Camaro, uses a servo that punches the accelerator back at your foot to control. I personally feel safer with the ASR, have used both types in the rain. On Cobra with TCS was harder to control than an ss with ASR. But it might just be me.

Berger is in Grand Rapids and has sold hi-po and COPO cars back in the 60's and in 2000 they got with Matt Murphy and GMMG in Georgia and produced a limited number Berger Camaros in '00,'01, and '02! You should here these cars! I was product specialist for the Camaro Legends Tour in '00 and got to drag race a 380 horse version and took it to a 13.17 which was the quickest pass to date in that car at that time, and I weigh 320 lbs.!
