  • He doesn't really get in the zone til 9:32

  • This is one astounding blues song. A version was used to tremendous effect in an episode of Sons of Anarchy about a funeral. Spine shivering.

  • I can revelate to this great video.

  • Thanks for posting this, Phil. Hope to see you again soon. Been awhile since the M&M anniversary tour.

  • Keggy's version is above all :) God really blessing his fingers on guitar :) YEA

  • Beyond Proficiency

  • keaggy is a youngstown kid...if his peers are correct,,,he may be the best guitar player of his time...jus sayin...

  • this makes me so happy...he is an incredible musician

  • How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

Practice, Practice Practice..... sorry, I couldn't resist. I found Keaggy looking for an E Bow demo & I'd never heard the guitarist. Well, he has another fan now. This guy is phenomenal & I can't wait to show my kids his vids over Thanksgiving. Have a great one everyone!

  • he missed the point

  • Maybe the overall best guitarist. When he was lead guitar in the band Glass Harp out of Cleveland in the early 70's he was fabulous on his Les Paul. He just kept getting more versatile and creative year after year.

  • i wish i be him

  • The Spirit is obviously 'playing thru him' here! I'll bet he enjoyed that!

  • superb version

  • Insanely talented! And I mean that as a great compliment....very few people are born with his natural musical ability! Some people can learn music and become proficient, but this is truly something else!!! On another level....

  • @katie180574 no doubt he is extremely talented. But ANYONE who plays THAT great also practices hours upon hours day after day for years and years. He (and not NO one else) could not possibly play even decently without practice.

if he didn't work hard behind the scenes he'd be terrible or mediocre like any other joe.

  • What a great musician.

  • musicians cover each others work. it happens. get over it. I'm learning about this great song for the first time here through Phil and by all of you, that it's been played by other people, so it's all good. cause now I can check them out too, do to him giving me there music here.

  • Why ao hostile? We're just talking about the blues. For the record...I love this version.

I'm going to pray for you man. You need Jesus,

  • I love that he uses sound-on-sound and loops the chords to back himself playing the solo! ;)

  • I agree lol it sounds sick when he added the vocals to the loops! such a creative artist you gotta love him

  • Big time fave, relly enjoy the rock jam version much. . Also like David and Goliath, I'm Going Home, and Do Lord from It Makes Me Glad LP. Nice to see some archives on YT. Enjoyed TIME a lot, would like to see it with 2nd Ch of Acts. too. I used to see Glass Harp in Cleveland, early 70's.

  • I read somewhere that Phil heard this on a Son House record. Viva the blues! Wish the audio was a bit better, but it's okay because I know this song.

  • This is 100% his tune, but the lyrics belong to another artist

  • I love Phil, but he didn't write this melody...this is a classic blues song by Blind Willie Johnson. It was even covered by Sam Moore (from Sam and Dave) in the Blues Brother 2000 movie.

  • Also covered by Son House, who did an awesome accapella version.

  • hey, angepasser, who cares

  • WOW.
