  • i never even knew that you could combo like this in a super smash bros game

  • @BIGNIG2500 watch some super smash bros melee combo vids.

  • vbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaast

  • Why do brawl players keep calling them combo videos? Call them Highlights if anything.

  • @RkeyNirun .trams era uoY

  • A Samus too hot for words.

  • izaw vs quicksilver

  • like a bozz! but srsly, no sense for good music~

  • Damn you managed to make Samus awesome.

  • i didn't know SS was this intense lol this multiplayer?

  • @ThaOriginChu because there cv look different. late comment

  • what's the music in background?

  • I switched from Brawl to Melee after about a year or so of playing Brawl, and I really don't think Brawl is a good competitive game, but I recognize that it's an amazing game when you're talking about games in general. Also, this video was the first competitive Brawl video in a long time that legitimately impressed me. Far more than M2K vs Brood, or even matches I've seen by DEHF. 99% of the time, Brawl is just too slow for my taste. This is part of the 1%, and for once, that's a good thing.

  • @Smashfreak1 i really respect your comment and think its very nice that you stated that even though it may not be competetive it is still a great game, so many people just hate on it and call it stupid or lame or gay, i enjoyed reading something that wasnt about brawl hate

  • @jfp521 No problem dude, no matter if we're Melee or Brawl players, or Call of Duty diehards, we all love video games, and I'd rather see us stick together and prove wrong every stereotype about us that the general public holds, than see us tear each other apart for liking or not liking certain games, or worse, certain aspects of certain games. As someone who hopes to one day go into game design, I'd love for the gaming community to be a more respectable - and respectful - one.

  • @Smashfreak1 I also am going for game design. And it's my sole purpose to create the most balanced competitive game ever, and free, where you win/lose based on personal skill alone. There will be no team work, there will be no bad matchups, there will be no "over powered or under powered" anything. Just pure skill. No glitches, no infinite combos, none of that. Just consistent out playing your opponent, or winning when it could've been anyone's game.

  • @genesisSOC That, my friend, is going to be hard as ***** to pull off. Good luck to ya =)

Although why no teamwork? Doubles matches and tag-team modes can still be competitive, as evidenced by MvC and competitive Smash Bros. doubles sets.

  • @Smashfreak1 It's really not that hard to pull off. Patching. Lots of patching. Patching weekly, or bi weekly. Buffing, nerfing, rebuffing, renerfing. Infinitely, never stopping, as a game can never be truly balanced, I can make it dang near close to it at all times.

Teamwork is fine, but I don't want it to be the focus of the game. Like in League of Legends, or CoD, to play truly competitively you have to work together as a team. One player can't win the game, and that's bad.

  • @genesisSOC Sorry, but no one would be dedicated to that. People are complaining that MvC3 ONLY lasted 9 months before being patched.

  • @VinceOfAllTrades Is that why League of Legends is officially the biggest MMO (has more active players than WoW, and none of them are bots) and Star Craft 2 is the biggest E-Sport? Yeah, that's what I thought. People aren't complaining about MvsC3. Patches = a great thing.

  • @genesisSOC I'm just saying, from a competitive perspective if you frequently change things it's hard to stay dedicated, even if it's only a frame here or there because it'll most likely change at least 1 combo. I'm also assuming you're making a fighting game.

  • @VinceOfAllTrades No, from a competitive perspective it needs constant changes and rebalances to REMAIN competitive. Also, I don't want to focus on long drawn out combos combat. I prefer Street Fighter over MvsC, and Smash Bros Brawl over Melee. That's because in combo based games, you spend less time actually fighting and more time comboing or getting comboed. It's not near as fun as actually fighting and playing "footsy" with your opponent.

  • @genesisSOC yeah, I guess I'm just thinking let's say if Capcom just started pumping out biweekly patches for SF, I'd be pissed because I know how my mains work in that game. Start changing things and now I'm not as familiar with my character, certain pokes may be dominant one week but not the next. That'd frustrate me a lot. But if you're just starting with a totally dynamic game there's nothing to get used to besides fundamental mechanics right?

  • @VinceOfAllTrades No, what it'd do is relieve the necessity of tier lists and living with your mains' "bad matchups" make it where you can constantly feel fresh, along with all your opponents, with all your favorite characters and have a fair and equal chance of winning each time. Bi weekly patches would keep the game running smoothly and remove a lot of the frustrations that you feel every time you play the game. I think you're just afraid of your mains getting nerfed.

  • @genesisSOC Well I wouldn't have mains. I'd use who was currently "best", obviously your goal is to create perfect balance but obviously that's not possible. So I'd probably switch characters a lot since no one's at an advantage and then just give up because every time I get used to something it changes.

  • @VinceOfAllTrades Eventually, those who are "best" and those who have "advantages" would start to even out over time and cease to have such huge leads over any given character. While you might have a very very slight advantage, it wouldn't be enough to cause any real frustration or have a consistent lead over anyone else. I'll make sure of that, so that people like you are forced to win on skill, not advantages.

  • @genesisSOC um...in Brawl I main Toon Link. In Melee I main Gannondorf. In AE2012 I main Dictator. In UMvC3 I main She-Hulk. None of them are close to top tier. I'm just saying in slower games that are technical like KoF and SF I'd say people want familiarity.

  • @VinceOfAllTrades If people want familiarity, why did every one hate Yun for so long? Why do people hate Meta Knight so much? Why do people hate Sentinel? It's time for a new generation, it's time for progress, and it's time to put these "90s limitations" behind us. We live in 2012 now, it's time we competitively game like we do.

  • @genesisSOC because they're broken and dominant. I'm not saying no patches ever, I just think your increments way too small. A patch a month might be nice (after a final release).

  • @VinceOfAllTrades I don't think so. I don't think there should ever be a moment when you lose because of a bad match up, or because of a glitch, or because of just bad game design/something a designer missed. With frequent patches, it lessens the chance of any given player suffering because of something like that. I don't want my player base to ever feel like they lost because of something outside their control, or because of something I designed with faults.

  • @genesisSOC and that's understandable, but there's always going to be people complaining something's too good and others saying it's too bad. So who do you listen to? And I guess that's where the incrementation comes in.

  • @VinceOfAllTrades I listen to my self. I've gamed for long enough to be able to analyze things for my self and decide for my self what is a truly good game. If I don't agree with what my players want, too bad for them. It's my game, my rules. And I believe anytime you lose, it should be your fault and yours alone. That's what I'm going to push for, whether they like it or not.

  • @genesisSOC so you're going to main every character?

  • @VinceOfAllTrades As a game designer, I will play every character extensively and make sure they're all perfectly balanced with each other. I may have to sacrifice some uniqueness for that, but that is a very well justified sacrificed. I would rather have a Link and Toon Link be perfectly even with each other than have a Meta Knight win every match regardless of skill.

  • @genesisSOC

I'm 100% with you on creating a balanced game however I want to state two things:

    1. impossible to do, game mechanics are ALWAYS found (such as DACUS) that can change things and being able to predict it ALL isn't possible-Nintendo couldn't do it, and Brawl was one of the biggest projects ever for the company.

    2. Meta Knights don't win every match -_____-

go to Smashboards and learn something, as of 2009/10 studies they win about 35-40% of tourneys which is big, but he is beatable.

  • @KingdomHeartz93 Patching. Patching can remove things like DACUS and fix any glitches or exploits found and practiced in competitive play. When was the last time you saw someone doing something like DACUS in Street Fighter IV? It just doesn't exist. No glitches or bugs to abuse there, and if there is, they can patch and remove it. Nintendo doesn't support patching, so that's why Brawl failed as hard as it did. Wii U is said to focus heavily on good online, though.

  • @genesisSOC Melee and SF 33 didnt have patching and they are still 10000000000000000x times better than his sequel. Your argument is invalid..

  • @felipe95951 I don't know about SF 33, but Melee was all about abusing glitches and constantly comboing your opponent with infinites rather than consistently outplaying them like in Brawl. On a competitive level, Brawl is by far superior to Melee, but it's not perfect and yes tripping is dumb. Melee's tier list is also much more punishing. Brawl is about constantly finding opening on your opponents: you spend more time FIGHTING than comboing/watching your self get comboed. That's

  • @genesisSOC you just went full blown retard LOL

  • @genesisSOC You have, literally, no idea what you're talking about. Literally, everything you've said is completely incorrect. I'm not going to side with either argument but please, educate yourself on Melee before arguing against it.

  • @felipe95951 why Brawl > Melee and I'm hoping Smash 4 will be more like Brawl 2.0 but more balanced than Melee. SF IV is the same way as Brawl; it's about constantly finding openings and consistently outplaying your opponent. That's why they're better than most of the previous games, and I'm hoping they continue to push in that direction and away from Melee's. It makes the game way more hardcore and seriously competitive than what you think.

  • @genesisSOC Brawl.....over Melee?? Waaaaaaat o.o

    Just....... wat.

SF 3-3 WORSE THAT SF4!!!!!!!!!???????? Sorry, this conversattion is over.

  • @genesisSOC

almost a perfectly worded comment man, I probably couldn't have said it better

  • @Smashfreak1 "DanDaManProductions" has some great competitive brawl videos on his channel. So you might want to check him out.

  • All of the good combo videos make me want to main a character but then I see more and can't decide. D=

  • All of the best Combo videos I've seen are all made by Izaw.

Izaw and quiK you guys are awesome!

  • The weirdest thing is his style changes when its on a tourney, well its a tourney.

Also is L!te and,Quicksilver the same or something?

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 Yea perhaps they are the same person after all quik's second cv is on L!te's channel but then again quik never really makes these himself if anything they are fan made.

  • Crazy shit! Nice to master both characters.

  • sooooo good

  • omg

  • Great vid Izaw, 2:37 was my favorite combo. One question: How do you record the audio for HD vids u usually upload and which program do u use to synchronize it with the video? Thanks in advance if you don't mind telling me :)

  • @Im1UP I'm pretty sure Izaw uses Adobe Premiere.

  • @Im1UP I think I remember Izaw saying once that he overlays a track after recording the match. So the matches are probably only played with sound effects. I he also uses sony vegas but I could be wrong.

  • "Welcome to Prime Time bitch," Sorry, couldn't hold that one in. XD

  • How come whenever quik has a combo video its either super creative, the best samus combo video on youtube, or "is there anything the opponent can doO_o"?

  • 1:39 was rape at a really high level, and against BluB too. Niceeeee

  • I need a fiht with quicksilver is asome :B

  • 1:10 ..... best timing ever... O_O

  • WHY PEOPLE NEVER PUT THE MUSIC THEY USE IN THEIR COMBO VIDEO INTO THE DESCRIPTION DAMMIT

  • Hey Izaw I have a question but its unrelated to this video. I've been watching a lot of your matches with Link and i've noticed that you jump and pull out the bombs while in the air most of them time. How come you you do that? Sorry if this is a question a noob would ask. :P
