Hi! Loved your video. I collect ABJD's. I have a blog and I love to share with you my experiences. Visit: imnottoy.blogspot.com. Leave a comment, ask questions, leave suggestions, you're welcome!
Generally speaking you buy them online, although there are stores in Japan. They are made in Japan, Korea and China. They range anywhere from (around) $100 to well over $3000, depending on the doll model (size/sculpt), company, availability and quality. You basically get what you pay for with these dolls.
Yea, I wouldn't use water color for a face-up. The bjd sites sell only acrylic paints and chalk pastels, so I'd assume those are the safest mediums to use for painting a bjd. I've never heard of anyone use water color or oil for a face-up. Hope this helps! :}
It looks on the vid at the end you almost didn't do anything except for the eyebrows and the lips, but you put sooo much time into it xD I'm sure it's a LOT of work to make it perfect. And it looks fun too o 3o I wish I had one myself!
Oh one question, is it possible to re-do the makeup after you put it on? I have always wondered....
The idea is that you seal the face before customizing it. That way, if you mess up, you can carefully use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge to erase what you did, without erasing what was already there. There are various different supplies you can use to remove a face-up but I like Mr. Clean :)
You can do a faceup using watercolor pencils, but your results will not be as good as if you use paint. Pencils are really more for beginners than a finished product.
It's a doll. They're asian ball-jointed dolls and they're highly customizable from eyes to feet. She's handling a head so she can (obviously) give it a paint job, also known as face-up because not only are the lips and eyelids being done, the eyebrows and eyelashes also. I don't know how you stumbled onto this video without knowing what this is.
great job lol and the music is just the type for that doll face video XD..

I know that dollfie cant touch oil based stuff.
But is acrylic paint and water colour paint useable? will it stain the doll or something?
Coz one of my friend told me that water colour paint r creamed and therefore contains oil. But im not sure?
Anyone help?
