I have my opinions and often wish to express them with as much civility as I can, but when I see how low people stoop to insult others as a way to express an opinion, I often wonder why I waste time posting here in the first place. There are more effective and credible ways to express views than how we often see a mob does it.
These talk-show hosts portrayed in here do not seem very nice. I would never wish someone were dead or say a person has a mental disorder because of their political belief. They may not, but some people do have feelings.
There will always be media aimed at inciting a certain political groups to take action or to speak up. I can say the same exact fucking thing for Democat talk show hosts. People just need to stop being so naive and godamn stupid and wake up to the fact the government is not your freind nor does it want to help you. In a nutshell, I expressed objectively my concerns about problems from both sides of the political aisle, including acknowledging my distaste for the examples of the conservatives depicted in the video, and that led to conservative vs. liberal dialog which ended up going nowhere, but at least that person is more reasonable than the one acting like a teenager with name calling, and such just isn't worth discussing. The commentator below did not listen to the video. The extremist voices heard in the video were at least hateful, and at most should be considered a form of terrorism, at the suggestion that the subjects of their hate should be killed. This is not a question of conservativism vs liberlaism, it is a decency issue. If you love the Conservatives in this video, so much that you overlook their bloodlust for individuals that you do not agree with, then you can not call yourself a true American.
I don't disagree that hatred was spewed by the conservative, and as a conservative myself, I'm rather ashamed of their behavior. But such behavior will not make me change my views on the issues that define conservatives and liberals. It's one thing to have opinions, but it is something else when such opinions are epressed in anger and hatred. And like I say, I've also seen it come from the left as well.
He indicates no such thing. Having been to his sermons, I can say from experience Chris Buice has nothing but love for anybody. He might be frustrated by some conservatives, but he's hardly alone in that.
I'm not condoning this incident at all, and I'm not surprised the shooter was influenced. But the far-left incites hatred as well, and what is dividing this country is how one side seems to have to villianize the other.
I'm a conservative, and I don't always like the manner conservative talk radio hosts, but understand that both sides express hatred. And understand that there is a difference between what views one has and how it is expressed.
Most people are mis-informed about the political spectrum. In fact, the two ideologies the Democratic Party comes to is some mixture of social liberalism and social democracy, the former a centrist and the latter center-left on the spectrum. The abandoning of democracy is a good general indicator of the "far" region, such as marxists, etc.
Also, don't try so hard to be even handed on the issue of "hate". I think you would find that the center-left has relatively few cases of hate speech.
I agree that the center-left doesn't express such hatred, just as the center-right doesn't either. I consider myself more center-right than right-wing, and I don't care for the far-anything.
As a conservative, along with most politicians you probably think that your ideology has something to do with freedom. However, I think you would find that since Edmund Burke it has much more to do with maintaining the status quo. Indeed the government is not composed of intellectuals. Thus, I have a question for you. Would you agree that if freedom is a maximum of choice, that opportunity for the worker is controlled by executives with a lopsided distribution of power? pay vs std of lving.
When it comes to distribution of wealth, I feel that the conservatives are closer to the liberals than what one realizes. The conservatives are more focused on seeing jobs created while the liberals are more comparitively focused on more welfare programs than the conservatives are. There is no perfect solution to meet the financial needs of every individual.
I believe that one should get what they work for, but I also have the concerns about people's standard of living going down....
The problem with liberals is that their intellectualism leads them to non-violence much like King and Gandhi.
The right, being emotional and traditional, don't have these problems and drop fire on their enemies including women and children whether it be in Iraq or Kent State.

I've never heard right wing radio shows inciting violence. But if you sit in your truck all day, like this killer did, and listen to talk radio it might have a negative mental impact that can easily manifest into violence. I can't condone the shooting at the church, and it's tragic that it happened, but why doesn't Moyers recognize that unborn babies are human lives as well? If he's going to focus on conservatives inciting violence, why doesn't he speak for the unborn? I don't see that as a political issue or an issue of a particular religious doctrine, but more of what's right and wrong. I guess part of society doesn't think that way.

In a nutshell, I expressed objectively my concerns about problems from both sides of the political aisle, including acknowledging my distaste for the examples of the conservatives depicted in the video, and that led to conservative vs. liberal dialog which ended up going nowhere, but at least that person is more reasonable than the one acting like a teenager with name calling, and such just isn't worth discussing. I can see even more why I stay conservative, so goodbye.

What I ask for both liberals and conservatives is to seperate your won views that may be well-meaning and logical from the vicious cycle I mention. Most conservatives are not the vioent hate-filled sort that is shown here, and I acknowledge that many if not most liberals don't fit the negative stereotypes that are often depicted.
I know issues are very complex, and I have to stand up for my views, but the greater concern is the division I do see, and we need to heal the rift.

I ackowledge the talk by the conservatives in the video that can and does incite violence. Not only am I concerned about the violence, but it also discredits the conservatives in general, making others look bad even when they have good things to say.

The commentator below did not listen to the video. The extremist voices heard in the video were at least hateful, and at most should be considered a form of terrorism, at the suggestion that the subjects of their hate should be killed. This is not a question of conservativism vs liberlaism, it is a decency issue. But such behavior will not make me change my views on the issues that define conservatives and liberals. I'm not condoning this incident at all, and I'm not surprised the shooter was influenced. But the far-left incites hatred as well, and what is dividing this country is how one side seems to have to villianize the other.
I'm a conservative, and I don't always like the manner conservative talk radio hosts, but understand that both sides express hatred. And understand that there is a difference between what views one has and how it is expressed.

Most people are mis-informed about the political spectrum. In fact, the two ideologies the Democratic Party comes to is some mixture of social liberalism and social democracy, the former a centrist and the latter center-left on the spectrum. The abandoning of democracy is a good general indicator of the "far" region, such as marxists, etc.
Also, don't try so hard to be even handed on the issue of "hate". I think you would find that the center-left has relatively few cases of hate speech.

When it comes to distribution of wealth, I feel that the conservatives are closer to the liberals than what one realizes. The conservatives are more focused on seeing jobs created while the liberals are more comparitively focused on more welfare programs than the conservatives are. There is no perfect solution to meet the financial needs of every individual.
I believe that one should get what they work for, but I also have the concerns about people's standard of living going down....

I've never heard right wing radio shows inciting violence. But if you sit in your truck all day, like this killer did, and listen to talk radio it might have a negative mental impact that can easily manifest into violence.
