I've been in the woods here in newfoundland where I'm from plenty of times and let me tell you, when I feel like there are faeries in the woods with me, I do not stay in there to find out whether they are nice or not, chances are, they aren't. Kind of cool film though, should have been narration though I think.
@CODFTW78 Not all fairies are sparkly and pretty...Keep in mind that goblins, trolls, and redcaps are fairies too. Furthermore, even the good fairies can be pretty nasty when they're pissed.
This is the best reproduction of lesser fae I have seen yet. This really helps to bring to light the fact that faeries are NOT your friend! BURN TINKERBELL BURN!! (specifically DISNEY renditions)
This is the best rendition of faeries (of lesser fae anyway) that I have seen yet! This was spectacularly brilliant and keeps true to the fact that faeries are NOT your friends!!
This video deals with faeries. There are good faeries and there are bad faeries. These are faeries Melissa shouldn't have messed with. It doesn't matter if your gender is a rock. Be cautious around unknown faeries. Period.
@autumnunicorn well sorta true. All fairies are nice but not All FAE or Faerys are nice...the fairies I've met are nice and same with others...if you want help defending some tell me.
Yeah, I know that this is supposed to be a horror movie, but a lot of horror stories have a badass--female protagonsist...it wouldn't have hurt to have had her take over and become the leader of the faeries--in fact it would have been exactly that--badass!
@GremlinSpike Many of these "badass" female protagonists end up dying in horror films- AND they're all especially attractive looking women, aren't they? I find *that* to be more sexist than giving them a horror film fate that could be shared by almost anyone. If she had taken over, the film would've had a completely different meaning. It's not about the girl, or women in general, this short is about the FAERIES.
@GremlinSpike You are an idiot. Go write feminist fiction, if that's what you want to see. This is a cautionary tale, meant as a warning about assuming the world is always a safe place. You are clearly a reactionary feminazi, with nothing better to do but bitch. Every story where a female character dies is not a personal affront to you, or an assault against the female gender. I write fiction, and sometimes characters die that people like. It happens. Get the hell over it, and quit whinin'.
@GremlinSpike You know, this is why we have so much hate in the world. Everyone takes everything so seriously. Bad things happen all over the world all the time, why not just see this video for what it is? A story about some dark and rather scary fairies, and leave it at that.
I found this to be one of the most distasteful, sexist and especially misogynist films I have ever seen--the whole story seems like a sexist warning to little girls that if they give into the unnatural temptation of breaking with the cultural and gender norm and rather than side with their mothers take control of the narrative and attempt to break free--they will end up dead--it's like the old anti-queer narratives of post-code Hollywood! It's pretty though--but the story is quite ugly.
@GremlinSpike Um....I'm pretty sure that sexism has nothing to do with this at all. It's simply a way of communicating the dark side of Faeriedom- something that most people in this time period don't understand or think about at all. It could have been told using a little boy as well; a child is a child, but then we wouldn't have had that cute scene where the faeries spun her dress. Of course the story is ugly- it's about faeries attacking and probably killing someone!

@GremlinSpike I disagree. As a feminist, I think all too often the mother's advice is deemed as trivial, useless, and something that children are justified in tossing aside. This film is both a parody of that as well as a message that maybe Mother's advice isn't so trivial after all...Also, leader of the fairies? That reeeally isn't how they do business...
Reminds me of the beginning of the Jurassic Park the Lost World, crossed with some fairie movie. Cool Direction , Awesome location, excellent fairie design, decent acting.
This is really good :) Kinda reminds me of the 'Small worlds' episode of Torchwood (my favourite episode btw). Fantastic premise, great acting and I loved the way the fairies looked like leaves shaking in the wind, in that way a child's imagination can make all sorts from the simplest of things.
great, just absolutely great... should teach humans not to trap butterflies in bottles and drive their cars in woods.. anger the fae and ye are so gone.. lmao brilliant clip.. wonderful filming, the colours, the fadings, the fae .. top boss greatly done.

"attack to the camera"... again that usual and mainstream effect?
That final part was out of context and don't helps to the mystic initial impression.
Sin embargo la obra salió muy buena e inclusive existe una mensaje de advertencia implícita dentro, muy bueno.
