  • tim richmond one of the few who could beat dale regularly

  • S.O.B. Earnhardt!

  • @procommenter fuck you

  • @123redrules : 123 = Gay-Pride

  • @procommenter i dont have pride and im not gay

  • @123redrules : 123: You need gay-pride because you are a homosexual.

  • @procommenter how does having 123 in my username automaticly make me gay?

  • RIP Tim Richmond And Dale Earnhart...2 greatest legends in NASCAR history

  • God bless Tim Richmond, Hope he is driving up there, Against Both Earnhardt's, Adam Petty, Davey Allison, Alan Kulwiki, J.D McDuffie, Neil Bonnet And Kenny Irwin Jr.

  • @HushOnHellsHorizon Don't forget Rob Moroso

  • @chevy8018 Fuck Rob "think when you drink" Moroso. He drove drunk and killed a lady.

  • pretty cool seeing richmond helping earnhardt off the trackafter getting wrecked by him

  • Had Richmond not passed away early in his career, He and Harry Hyde would have won a bunch of Championships. He could get more out of a car than anybody. Still have a Old Milwaukee poster of him in race room

  • One of the few rare views of another NASCAR legend. True sportsmanship went Tim helps the mad who spun him out to the ambulance.BTW Dale Sr would have helped Tim if things were reversed...

  • This may be hard to believe, but I saw this from turn 2 right next to the old "Winston" camera box if anyone remembers it. I was 12 and climbed up the hiill just outside the track to watch a few laps after hanging around the pits (There was only a fence separating the fans from the pits.SO awesome!) The camera man caught my attention when she shouted "OH MY GOD" then I saw the carnage with my favorite racer, D.E. wrecking. Thought he was dead.

  • This was the first NASCAR race i went to watch live. Great finish to this race. Allison leading Waltrip and Petty with the 3 nose to tail. With 3 laps to go Petty pits for a splash of gas and falls 1/2 track behind. On the last lap going down the long pond straight Waltrip starts to run out of gas and everyone is expecting Allison to run out also. But he doesn't . Petty finishes second. This race ushered in the "gas mileage" era. Gary Nelson is Allisons Crew Chief. LOL.

  • 0:29 does he say "kicks the dude sideways"?

  • @C0LL1N

    "deuce"

  • @C0LL1N deuce means 2

  • what happened to tim?

  • @Shydragon72 he died of AIDS one of the best kept NASCAR secrets until recent years.

  • wow

  • another 1 crashed by earnhardt.if he did not crash every good drive he would never have 7.race after race thats all u c him crashing the best cars so he would have no one to race

  • RIP Dale and Tim

  • Tim was a good man and a great driver, nascar screwed Tim and I never gave them another dime of my money because of what they did to Tim. Fuk nascar then and now......................

  • This is one of those crashes that just has a disgustingly hard impact if you watch it on another video at full speed. some of the nascar crash comps

  • ouch

  • its to bad tim got into what he did he was one hell of a race driver. The world lost two great race drivers.

  • That dang ole thang dun flipped up on its top....DAAAAANG!!!!!

  • gets into the back of?? he ran right through richmond

  • We all know Dale broke his leg in this accident. It amazes me how little the newer nascar fans know about Dale Sr and/or Tim Richmond not much if anything at all and thats a damn shame!

  • @Jeff24fangraz

your right ,richmond knew it too,but dale didnt want anyone too know about it because he knew they wouldnt let him race the next week.Today they applaud hamlin for driving after knee surgery..lol or you see drivers getting out of their ride because of a stomach flu. Earnhardt drove with a broken leg and didnt tell any one!!

  • @ward185 Dale Jr. drove with a CONCUSSION in 2002

  • @ward185 Yeah exactly it seems like the greats are the toughest SOBS in the sport and will drive no matter what sick or hurt.

  • Where do you get all these clips?

  • Earnhart lost his brakes ALOT

  • Pls watch all the video. Dale lost his brakes. Not "dirty dirving" Tim said it himself. I do find it funny that most seem to forget all the times people tried and yes somtimes did turn Dale around but you didn't hear Dale bitching about it. The marks were not only on the front bumper of the number 3 but that back bumper as well.

  • I guess Donnie Allison, Cale Yarbaugh and all the greats were Dirty drivers to. they used to beat the snot of the cars in the 80's 70's and 60's. the single file racing came about here recently. and don't forget ole Bill Elliotts narrowed cheatbird for a bogus speed record. people still bashing Dale, I can see him grinning about that now. Man I miss old Nascar not this F1 mentality make believe cot single file don't dare rub one another tv promo silliness today has.

  • No Beavis, it takes a faster car. In most races Earnhardt didn't have the car to win, but he had the will and the balls to take what he wanted. 7 cups and 76 victories. Enough said.

  • So you're saying "If you can't beat 'em wreck 'em!"? I was following stock car racing before there was a Dale Earnhardt. I've see drivers with lesser cars win and pass people without wrecking them. You can believe whatever you want, it doesn't make you accurate.

  • it lokks like the crash that richard petty did in 1980 at pocono.

  • was john madden comentating?

  • one of the greatest displays of sportsmanship ever

  • i miss dale hewas the best. good movie

  • something tells me that this is not the original commentary

  • it is indeed the original commentary

  • dle earnhardt rip :'(

  • If this brakes were going he should not have been at close quarters with someone else .

  • well then he'd kinda had no choice...

  • lol yeah but it was dale earnhardt he did what he wanted

  • umm he openly admitted to having aids in lots of interviews and his team knew he had it.

  • @mrv1967 did he rape those women i think not

  • I like how u phrased it "Richmond spins around as Earnhardt tries to go to the outside"

Look at the vid ....did he just spin by himself? lol

  • Tim Richmond, character and class all the way.

  • Dale Earnhardt driving a Ford.

  • its nice to see

  • one tough customer

  • you should google tim richmond the winston poster uncensored intresting story

  • It a cane handle in the poster, not his dick he was dieing from AIDS and was very weak

  • dirtty Dale does it agian!

  • This is why Dale will always be loved. R.I.P Dale and long live #3.

  • dale didnt die then he died in 2001...ps RIP dale we will miss you.

  • he died in 2001

  • I KNOW THAT!!!!!!!! I'm NOT STUPID!!!

  • Amen.

  • Dale's motto always was, "If you can't pass 'em, WRECK um!" Dirtiest driver of all time. Period

  • Tim Richmond was a class act, and maybe the best pure talent to come along!

  • Dale, the movie, had some interesting side stories to this, all of which were true(not hollywood):earnhardt had a broken knee after this. he chose to have surgery so he could compete in the next event, and he told people not to tell anyone he was going into surgery, because nascar wouldn't let him race until it healed.

noone knows when nascar found out, but dale raced the next weekend.

Wrangler's advertising campaign back then fit earnhardt so damn well: "One Tough Customer."

  • Wow.

  • Its not on this clip, but if you watch "dale the movie" you will see after Richmond helped Earnhardt into the ambulance he slamed the door shut and pointed at him in a angerly way-he only helped him because he was a gentelman.

  • I just saw that.

    He didnt really point though.

But if you look carefully Dales right front tire shredded.

  • Whats this? another video of Earnhardt taking someone out. What was his excuse this time-brakes going out? Typical-almost killed Richmond in the process. Oh and dont expect NASCAR to do anything about it back then-he was the "chosen one" by Bill France Jr and Humprey Wheeler. That driver created alot of excitment for the fans and $ for nascar.

  • Didn't look like Tim Richmond was that worried about it, Mr Sour Grapes.

  • tim richmond was a hell of a driver and a few others passed away to soon though

  • is tim the one that died of aids?

  • yes, very sad...

  • tim who?

  • tim richmond... look him up

a very great driver, gone too soon...

  • Tim Richmond, the only reason to watch the taxi cabs in this era

  • It's sad that people have to ask who Tim Richmond was.

  • @33skoalbandit Tim richmond is in my top 10 drivers of all time..ever though he never won a title..his car control was un rivaled

  • 2 drivers that left us too soon.

  • a True legend.

  • if earnhardt was alive he would make kyle busch look like a baby

  • no, if he was alive, he'd be retired, and he'd most likely find the whole Kyle Busch thing to be hilarious.

  • Good luck getting Earnhardt out of his rascar if he was still here, he raced with so many broken bones, I'm sure he would race as long as he possible could.

  • ya know if #40 supn 3 insted of getting him lose he may stil be alive ( got 3 losse w/ 3 to go)

  • you havent been around this sport very long have you? dale earnhardt was not wrecked by sterling marlin he just lost it trying to block just a racing deal.

  • well you must not be a fan of proper spelling lulz!

  • r u KIDDING me!!!! i hate spelling more than kyle bush!!!!

  • lol.

  • Be prepared to be dismissed as an idiot, then.

  • like im actully going to care....

  • i fink he meant if dale had been spun all the way around, instead of goin straight into the wall, he may still be alive

  • i know, but he said it was sterling marlin's fault, and i can assure u marlin had no intentions of wrecking earnhardt...

  • i'm not sure he'd still be racing, they said when he had his fatal crash he'd been discussing retirement. i think he'd find the situation pretty funny, but also give Kyle some tips and advice.

  • Classic Earnhardt. Riding someone's back bumper all the way through the corner! A true legend!

  • NASCAR rules Dale would never say that

  • Dale was wrecking ppl back then

  • Wow, Mizzlou TV Sports!!! Gotta love syndicated 80's programs. And who is doing color alongside Rick Benjamin?

  • @racermac1988 that would be dick brooks,

  • Dale Earnhardt lost his brakes

  • tim richmond and earnhardt were good friends

  • Didn't know that. Would have been interesting to see the career Tim would have had if he didn't leave us early.

  • Earnhardt would have kick his ass even with that broken leg that man was toughf. Plus he lost his brokes thats why he got into him

  • nah he always blocked just admit it.

  • thats called trying to kill somebdy somethin earnhardt was very good at 86,93, he should win an oscar for best attemted killer :)

  • i was at pocono when ken shrader's car was on top of the wall

  • I recognize Rick Benjamin calling the race, who is doing the color?

  • Tonytiger 05 is your total IQ, you dont even know shit about Nascar, go take your fat acne covered ass and get the F*** out of Nascar Land.

  • Dale NEVER blocked for other people before the 2001 race! It was a racing incident you POS!

  • Go fuck off!

  • Earnhardt didnt say his brakes failed, Richmond did... He could do more with a racecar than anyone else could... He was so talented he just wanted to make it fun to watch for the fans

  • Dale broke his leg in this wreck, and raced the next week

  • he was the man

  • The commentary is very loud and stupid, but a horrific crash.

  • great ambulance crew, tim did all the work and helped dale to the ambulance

  • Tim Richmond and Dale Earnhardt were very good friends. They both hung out and fished together. In one race they both ran 10 laps side by side. Dale said him and Richmond did it to put on a show for the fans.

  • Awesome display of sportsmanship on Richmonds part. First helping Earnhardt to the ambulance and also listening to an explanation of why Dale got into him. Nowadays some of the drivers would look for the nearest camera to complain to, or they would throw their helmet at the guy that just hit them...

  • I disagree completely with whoever says Pocono isn't exciting.

Pocono is one of the most exciting tracks in Nascar in my opinion.

  • People say Pocono isn't exciting... LIES!

  • Two Legendary Drivers to say the least..

  • never new Earnhardt used #15... thought it was allways #3...nice to see old footage...keep it up

  • iono

  • Ironically enough, Earnhardt not only drove this #15 for Bud Moore, he had previously driven the JD Stacy owned #2 that Tim Richmond is piloting in this crash. Earnhardt won the 1980 championship driving the #2 under the ownership of Rod Osterlund, but Osterlund sold the team to Stacy 16 races into the '81 season, and Earnhardt and Stacy never saw eye to eye.

  • Dale drove the #2 car from 1978 to 1981, then his #15 car for only 2 years, and in 1984, he drove the #3 car.

  • He drove that EXACT # 2 before he drove the 15. Here are his car numbers from his rookie season until his death.

  • 1979 - 2 (Rod Osterlund Racing)

    1980 - 2 (ROR)

1981 - 2 (JD Stacy Racing), 3 (Richard Childress Racing)

    1982 - 15 (Bud Moore Engineering)

    1983 - 15 (BME)

    1984 - 2001 - 3 (RCR)

  • Does anyone have more Tim Richmond footage that they could post??

  • i almost miss the days when drivers helped each other out after a crash. now all they do if fight about it

  • And throw helmets at each others cars.

  • he's number 9 or 8.. dont remember.. but why;s he in da 40 numbers? his old numb?

  • i agwee but Earnhardt num is 3

  • oooh.. lol.. havent watched or played game ina while.. lol.. last game I played was nascar 03.. lol

  • Mind if I ask what you're talking about!?

  • man, look at the old pocono

  • OK it was AIDS, I knew there was something I heard about him.

  • Probably Dick Brooks.

  • Can anyone tell me if that Tim Richmond is the Dude that had a Sex change operation?

  • i dont know, he had AIDS

  • You've been handed some bad information man... Tim Richmond didn't have a sex change

  • You're probably thinking of JT Hayes aka Terri O'Connell.

  • He didn't have a sex change operation! He died from AIDS ya jackass!

  • the commentary sounds like it was done later

  • Sounds like Champ Car annoucer Rick Benjamin

  • I figured that it was him or Gene Southerland from the USAR races. For some reason I always get them mixed up.

  • that's what I said, cause I think no live race at pocono was done that year

  • Wow that Earnhardt guy sure was a dirty driver. That was a Tony Stewart like move.

  • You obviously had the volume off during the video. Even Richmond said that Earnhardt's brakes went out.

  • wow Ive always wanted to see this.....This shows how tought Dale was, he was a man of steel

  • one time while dale was sailing off the shore of florida, he fell out of the boat yet he didnt get wet because the water ran away in fear
