Dear Misha, Reading other comments and replies of yours, you should look out for a builders sand sack, they hold about half a ton of soil and are free. They are rot proof and will prevent drying out. George.

Thanks I will look out for that. with the earthboxes I dont have a problem, but because I am so spoiled with them the potted plants make me work harder to keep hydrated.

Feel free to send some of that basil my way :-) I know I have my own, but I loooove fresh pesto. Do you live somewhere warm? I think it will get pretty cool here in another month so my outdoor gardening days are running short.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply to you. But I live in Birmingham Al Zone 8 it has gotten cold early this year. So we had our first freeze this past week. I have started a new fall garden which I willl post shortly.

Nice side garden, I had a friend at work give me some cilantro seeds from his garden that I need to plant, and I have some spare containers so I think I will plant them like you are doing. Also, nice work on cloning your cherokee plant, did you use a rooting agent? I like rootech myself. Well, thanks for posting it is inspiring.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback. On the Cherokee Purple all I did was to cut an actively growing stem with new baby leaves on it. put it in some water and wait for roots to appear. I kept it indoors, but where it could get some sun. I have also had others say that they just stuck theirs directly into the soil medium and kept it out of the sun. Good luck with that cilantro!
