Good effort, but lots of wrong notes after 1:18. Also, a suggestion if I may - try practicing tremolo picking - there are many places where he does that and then uses dynamics to get the feel (e.g. the section around 0:47, 0:55, etc).
Maybe... however, that is used for the lead to be comfortable. Otherwise, the entire song can be comfortably played by using the chords D, B minor, A, G, and E minor with a simple rhythm on the conventional tuning :) its a divine composition.
A few suggestions, if I may. This song is on Drop D and I think you might be playing it on that tuning too. You could use the open D as a droning note in between your main notes as fillers. You might have noticed that in the song.
I see that you're on the same string for too long. Couldn't it be easier if you utilize strings below instead of going right up to the 12th fret on the 4th string? I found that a bit easier.
hey praks...yes, I do utilize the string below these days (that video was posted in a bit of haste :))...These days, I am trying to get my speed up for sweet child end solo..
I basically kept it for the drums since I thought it may look a bit hollow without it...I will remove it when I re-record the video to get rid of some obvious mistakes.. :)
Wish you had some ears....Wish you could notice the original guitar sounding in the background or, for that matter, the difference in volume between the drums (and other percussion) and my guitar which wouldn't occur in the original song...apply some common sense dude....
Do u mean an artist likes to be called "a bloody loser" in the first place? I would prefer to differ here.....If you think it was a smart trick pulled by me, its your personal opinion and u r entitled to it (nobody else has similar thoughts though, or at least nobody else has expressed any concerns till now) but what u say here doesn't make sense to me... I guess u lack on some common sense here .. :(
and further, I would never count you in the breed of 'senseful' critics who would have registered some of the faults (2 to my knowledge) where my guitar sounded differently than the original in the background...When you said it was a 'smart trick', I felt sorry for your lack of music ears... :(
good try

Original scale of this song is Dmajor.
vstrum23 2 years ago
@vstrum23 I think the original scale is drop D tuning (and not normal tuning), with the 6th string tuned as D instead of E.

Hi Kaushik how do I get my fingers into the rhythm of a scale, is there an easy scale that you can share which will help me get better?
rishsaran 2 years ago
hey, you need to practice the regular scales (like C scale, F#, G, D# etc.) as a first step before playing chords..

kandisa, originally an old assyrian aramaic song sung in the syriac churches which had been brought to kerala by the assyrian missionaries

pls remove the background music; your original guitar is superb and gives the authentic air.

You cud work on your timing, otherwise not a bad attempt at all. (I will let 2 notes pass by since everyone is talking abt it)
ashishcs2 4 years ago
sure..the timing was bad in between...
kaushikgoa 4 years ago
Very beautiful. Went a tad off on a few notes towards the end, still very impressive. Not an easy tune to play, either.
desimurgi 4 years ago
Yeah.. a few mistakes in the end which I am too lazy to rectify.. :)

No thats the real music playing in the background....

Crictics apart....
I think mine would be the best comment an artist can ever get...
If you have done this then you should be happy on my comment...that it is so exacting.. that people doubt its authenticity...
Great job dude...
carry on...
Regards

20shubhS 4 years ago
I usually tune it using my guitar processor but do not remember how I had tuned on this occasion....
kaushikgoa 4 years ago
as in it's standard tuning? Because Susmit doesn't tune it standard.. he has a different tuning..
20shubhS 4 years ago
:) No... its drop D tuning (last string D instead of E)
