  • Loved this track in 73. Still do today.

  • to smartypantsnancy.........me too!!!!!!

  • The clip may be a bit grainy but it is absolutely brilliant. I always loved this song and it was great to see the guy singing it on a TOTP that was thought to be wiped. Thanks for posting.

  • ha ha met robert at the lacarno in birmingham uk.my friend and I went for a drink with him,That was all folks.

  • great track, could anyone help me out and upload the B side of this single, its called power of love, im desperate to tey and find it, many thanks all.

  • Just a shame that all that is left of this show is a crappy VHS home made recording. I suppose it's better than nothing though.:)

  • Thank you for posting this clip. I was there in the audience of this TOTPS. Robert was funny as he did not know who DLT was

    .Robert" who's DLT?"

DLT " I am over here with the mic" just so that he could start on time with the music and camers action.Nice enough guy with no attittude - like stealers wheel that did not want to look into the camers when asked to. thorughtly moody then.

My Face is in right hand corner at 1.00-1.05 a bit dark lighting not so good.

  • Had this song drummed into me when i was only 3-4ys old...My brothers were much older than me and into the noerthern scene...Beautiful song, happy days and makes me cry every time i hear it!!

  • first heard this in the 80's when i was into the scooter scene, its one of them songs that gets under your skin, never tire of hearing this goodtimes

  • Great clip - I vaguely remember him on TOTP but do remember how absolutely massive the song was on the scene before hitting the pop charts. One of the first I remember along with Jerry Williams and Fathers Angels etc...happy days :-)

    Thanks for posting.

  • To Janice King every time I hear this song now I think of you as you met your husband when mountain climbing.

  • Fabulous Share!!...thanks..x

  • grate song ify dancing

  • Amazing. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • This was my first introduction to Northern Soul as a genre I was 15 living in the south and desperate for some identity .This song and performance was the start of my love affair with rare soul music which still burns brightly today .Thank you for posting it

  • @RicTic66 me too it was the start of my soul music adventure and still going ktf andy dean

  • This song makes me want to cry,13 years old not a care in the world and all my life ahead of me. Love it love it thanks

  • @smartypantsnancy Think we'd all like to do it all again. Wonder what kind of world it'd be if we could. Great song, nice memories.

  • This exposure, best wishes to Robert in any and all return, took that 'again' the underground sound' into the mainstream. NS, correct me if I'm wrong, was its stomping, striving working class appreciation in long stride step away from the norm of TOTP. Like many classic sounds, fucked over in welcome, play and dance to in the div clubs! This sound was borne out of the 'all nighter cult' and perhaps best remains there!

  • He's got the voice of an angel! x

  • Quality tune, only recently discovered it and absolutley love it.

  • I read in another site that he died. I dont think this is true.

  • Robert Knight is still alive. He's 64 years old.

  • I bought the original 45 from the 100 Club allnighter in the early 80's then noticed it was a track on one of those free CDs out of the papers, played it in the car, now it is the kids fave track, it goes on, HAPPY DAYS. keep on keepin' on

  • This is a great song and always reminds me of belle vue, Manchester, England. Manchester city football club and belle vue made Manchester Keith Taylor CTID

  • great song and great times ahead for super city

  • This is cool. I have the 45 of his Everlasting Love. Never knew he did anything else. This is neat.I read somewhere he works at a college mowing lawns or something. He oughta get back into singing. :) This is good stuff...

  • Thanks...

    An absolute Northern Soul Classic

A privilege to see it again.

  • Oh my! That was the first 45 single I ever bought! Nice suite!!
