A similar scenario happened with my grandmother. She doesnt speak english and the cop told her to exit the vehicle and obviously she couldn't comply so i tried to tell her in spanish that he wants her to get out and he tackles me, cuffs me, Drags her out of the car gave her a broken arm and collar bone and i was trying to explain to him but he just wouldn't listen. officers are charged to up hold the law. where in the law does it state that they may kill anything?.....it states that the officer may only kill anything if indeed the officers life is in danger. however, a 28 pound dog does not constitute a life threatening attacker. A gun in this case was clearly a overreaction on the officers part and a taser was called for . this officer should be suspended with-out pay for 1 week . not fired, his reaction was justified but his methods were flawed.

They couldn't have let the dog stay in there while they were investigating, but that doesn't mean they let it out like that on purpose. This very well could have been avoided because I don't believe they even had the right to remove you and your passengers from your car in the first place and arrest you.
