  • Ist bestimmt auf Dauer nicht so gut für die Ohren.

  • @11CInfantryman92 I just mean I would be pretty prejudice about how poorly these guys are doin', but then I noticed the weight they were slinging around and realized... my 130lb.s soaked would take a good few weeks simply adjusting to the strain of that. Let alone all the other things that are going on.

  • is this in war? or training?

  • زفت وخره

  • Deadly

  • Mortar spam!

  • I fire the 155mm. Rounds are much more heavier and the shock from the blast of the howitzer is awesome. The ground shakes.

  • Boner

  • those things are hugeee

  • id like to see what happend to whatever they were firing at

  • fucking slow

  • My brother in law was a mortarman in the army. Served two tours in Iraq. I had the opportunity to (from a distance) watch them fire their 120mm's on the range at Fort Benning, and later that week, watched the tanks fire.

  • Your tax dollars at work.

  • ive seen a lot of 120 mm mortars on youtube, im just wondering, does the us army still use the 60mm mortars?

  • @Mrmusicmaster88 yes they do, they are very fun to shoot!

  • @Mrmusicmaster88 of course they do the m224 is not even that old to. The 60mm 81mm and 120mm are both used by the army and marines.

  • good training next time show one of yall in combat speed...mortars are hung

  • @EvilMonkey11C shuld i be write german or english ? =)

ääähm i was in the Bundeswehr also on a 120mm mortar =) ...i know the problem with new rekruts ..i can understnad you

äähm can u fettle up the rounds in the pappboxes ?or is this not allowed .....have your mortars a tilt protection ?

    greetz b.

  • Hang it!!! *awkward silence* FIRE!!! Kabooshhhhhh...splat.

  • D50 FFE Hooaah

  • thats not 120 mm definitely...mostly like 86mm

  • @fuckjohnboy that's definitely a 120mm

  • @EvilMonkey11C i am a 18 years old soldier doing my training on mortars...i know what im talking about....plus 120mm uses 4 people to work the mortar not 3

  • @fuckjohnboy obviously you don't know what you're talking about. First of all the US Military doesn't have 86mm mortars. So either you're trolling or stupid. And I know for a fact it was a 120mm because I was the one dropping the rounds

  • hit anything?

  • I wish i could buy those mortars and use it in my back yard firing neighbours lol

  • I would recommend some ear deffenders if it is allowed. Our major diDn't allowed us to cover ears,I have myself hearing damage ,I was 120 crew member,I know what you mean.I just watched the professional russian guy neatly shitted himself showing us his 80mm crap.Take a look you will die of laughing.

  • Are mortar shells usually carried in those containers? The guy extracting the mortar bombs looks like he's doing a two man job, considering that he needs multiple hand-changes just to do his job.

  • You dont have to cover your ears mate, thats not pro.

  • I never thought before about how god damn heavy those shells are. PT, it's good for you it's good for me.

  • every time he says hang it chuck norris gets ready to roundhouse kick it out.

  • A mortar is just a tube with a firing pin at the base, You simply drop the round down and the tail hits it and explodes, propelling it in the air.

  • Motars are cool, but artillery is VERY cool!

  • @Thumper001300 All the types of firearms are wonderful :)

  • Mr. ammo man needs to get his shit together back there, but I guess that's what practice rounds are for anyways.

  • those are all practice 120's

  • thayre allready dead! hold ur fire ur hitting schools and private homes again!

  • @Oloss55 Yep. Those Training grounds are full of schools and mansions to mortar.

  • @ZzRvXzz They have charges in the tail of the morter bomb so that when you drop it down the tube, the charge dedonates and launches the morter. That's why in the scene of the movie saving private ryan they banged the morters against the steal plate before they threw them at the tank.

  • how do mortars work?

  • @ZzRvXzZ insert the charge, drop in the morter and cover your ears lol

  • hate to be the other guy O_O

  • Shut the fuck up awsed25

  • FIRE!!!!!!! dang it!

  • can anyone explain how the shell fires beacuse i know on a 60 there is a trigger but i dont know how these work

  • @aatomicbomb69 There is a propellant charge at the bottom of the shell. It hits a firing pin in the launcher when its dropped down and is propelled into the air.

  • Stupid Americans

  • @awsed25 You're stupid.

  • KING OF BATTLE

  • They look like the people frim battlefield the game

  • cool

  • better than fps russia

  • Hang it, Firrrreeee!!!!

  • @iodineclip between 200 meters and 7200 meters.

  • how far can this thing go?

  • Imagine how horrible it would be if someone dropped a primed mortar...

  • the third dude on the back has the best job.

  • thank god for training, these guys need to move move move move!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have a stupid question

what happens if you put the mortar in the opposite way and fire it?

  • @ohkki123 YOUR FUNERAL

  • @ohkki123

    nothing

you just have to turn the tube upsiddown

and let the bomb slide out

    yair mottes

    Israel

  • @ohkki123 well to put it one way: you'll not make the same mistake again

  • 3 men crew. what s the 3rd guy doing?. Just shouting?

  • @gathersteel

    he aims the motter

in the israeli army he should check between each round

that he is still on target.

    yair mottes

    Israel

  • how america does things. if you gt a target we can home in and blow it from 40mm nades to the moab

  • these guys are as slow as cold honey

  • @perrynapier ha ha ha id like to see you and two of your friends do better :P

  • @perrynapier yeah maybe. but they can still blow you to bits

  • these guys are slow as cold honey

  • haha you must do this with firework ! very funny ! ;DD

  • Are these being fired upon actual military/terrorist targets, or is this just a practice?

  • @DjPyro2010 practise.

  • are those rounds heavy

  • Sweet

  • SLO or Roberts? Last drill we were calling in 81s and at even like a klick its tough to see the impacts from the training rounds. We just switched to HE for the spotting and then training rounds for fire-for-effect

  • Only 2 of them are doing any work.

  • Just got 11 Charlie as my MOS yesterday. Basic in may. So pumped

  • @BandJ1990 dont end up in a cav unit like me. mortars are hung!!!!!

  • theres always that fag on every vid who thinks he knows everything about the army

  • @horsemania1 unfortunately your right... idiots like that ruin it for everyone else

  • Do you guys use a collimator to aim these as well? and use deflection?? I'm a gunner on the 198 but I just love mortars, you can pump out rounds so quick.

  • Always wanted to fire mortars. 105mm and 155mm guns are fun, but for some reason mortars look way more better.

  • @goofiegoofball they are

  • @goofiegoofball Uh-huh...they're lots of fun. Right until you have to hump it through a swamp or through the snow. And of course misfires are always a treat. Nothing like cupping your hands over the barrel while its tilted down so the rounds slides out and -hopefully- into your hands.

  • Yeah you guys aren't moving terribly fast but I don't think most people understand what you guys are actually shooting. I was 11C and a gunner for an 81mm squad. 81mm's are considerably smaller than 120mm rounds. Those 120mm's are big as shit. I was actually able to fire a 120mm gun and holding those rounds can seriously take a tole on your muscles. Thats why I prefer the 81mm, easy round to fire and definitely can put a damper on the recieving ends day.

  • The guys in WWII were so much faster. Literally sending one off every 3 seconds. Maybe less. From 1 mortar tube.

  • @Redrobottyler Yeah..of 60 and 81 mm rounds. Those 120's are friggin heavy dude.

  • @MrComatost if you think that your a bitch!!!

  • I'd like to see the destruction these leave on the received end, especially when compared to smaller mortars.

  • @hullinger I was thinking the same thing. they're probably making a damn swiss cheese effect on their target

  • So, how are your ears after a full deployment of firing these?

  • Hang it!

  • Dies ist genial!

  • there goes a new bmw in the air.

  • your trying to blame the ab for your squads incompetence. your obviously on a training mission since your in Cali so you know what the round is gonna be set at with what charge. if you didn't do that before you started shooting that's not the new kids fault. second your the round is ratting halfway down the tube cause you cant hang a round for your life

  • ok as an ex 11C my question is should you really be telling everyone your ammo bearere was not certified on the tube or gun system at all/ just a thought

    SFC retired

  • IDK how its in the US Army but 1 round every 10 seconds is standard.

    This is not slow.

  • is the rate of fire on the 120mm mortar 30 rounds per minute?

  • How the he'll did the AB not go to mortar school. If he is an 11C then he did mortar training in basic. And even then you hardly learn how to prep rounds

  • Not going fast enough? Boy, try and say they weren't going fast enough if you are the enemy :)

  • How many tubes are shooting in same fire mission? Asking this because finnish army uses 120mm mortars in 6-9 tube companies at battalion level, all shooting in same fire mission.

  • @GeneralCalculus Mortars in the US army are found in the HHC (headquarters & headquarters company) in platoon strength ( I think 4 120mm mortars in mech batts or 4 81mms in light batts )light infantry companies (of a light batt.) have a mortar section with 2 60mm tubes as well

  • @badgerattoadhall

Maybe its because I haven´t taken account of all other supporting weapons, but your mortar quantity seems rather... ...light-weight ;).

    Also

Our infantry companies have either 2 or 3 tube platoon of 81mm mortars, regardless of company type.

And we don't have 60mm mortars in inventory.

  • @GeneralCalculus so in the US the HHC has mortar platoon of 4 tubes, and a light infantry battalions 3 rifle companies each have a mortar section W/ 2 60mm tubes. youtube M224 to see the 60mm mortar

This may be national guard, so this is probably a range, so it could be several tubes from different battalions practicing

  • @badgerattoadhall im in a squadron and the two mounted troops have 4 120's, and 4 81's, the dismount troop uses 6 60's for missions..... they also have 4 81's for cop defence

  • sounds like a waste of ammo to me

  • @kaas94 i dont think the united state army has lack of ammo

  • looks like a more than adequate replacement for the old 4.2" mortar. As for ragnarokoptions comment... well most likely they are training and training IS how you get better at a job. I bet if we knew anything about you we wouldnt be imressed with you either. Nuff said

  • those things are MONSTERS!

  • Slow, not trained well...we did it much better in our war...

  • @lido3 Could you elaborate on this?

Feel free to send me a personal message if you want privacy.

    I'm interested in your story.

  • @dror91 Check youtube: war in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo. You'll se yourself.

  • umm happy birthday glad in not there also what is the yellow ring on those?

  • @theojer87 I am not familiar with the 120mm rounds, but I remember ages ago when i was in the newer 81mm rounds came with what we called "donut" charges, They were actually kind of horseshoe shaped and clipped around the tail fin (up to 4 of them on ours) they each were filled with propellent charge. I bet this is the same sort of thing

  • California huh, National Guard?

  • that looks like a lot of fun. i think in countries like indonesia, they let tourists fire off some rounds for a price

  • i wonder what would happen if you keep your hand on top of mortar after you put grenade in it.

  • @misteraxl1 lol, nobody wanna know... lol

  • @misteraxl1

What a question. You loose your hand.

  • those are huge.

  • Ours go to 7400 metres.

Shooting is a tad slow, considering they don't check elevetaion and windage between rounds.

Must be some training occasion and plates are well pressed in ground.

  • That's got to cuase a sore back, and a helluva headache...better than the receiving end though, I guess.

  • after its armed and you drop the round will it explode

  • THESE GUYS ARE LOST THEIR MIND... DAMN

  • where is this?

  • @kirby4d California

  • @EvilMonkey11C please tell me what is he doing with shells before giving it to firer

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 he is setting the fuse to impact so the round explodes when it hits the ground

  • @EvilMonkey11C Thanks buddy

  • @EvilMonkey11C does that mean, that if the firer would drop the shell, it would explode?

  • @EvilMonkey11C

and he is removing the safty pin

if he doesn't do it', it won't explode.

    yair mottes

    ex motter commander

    Israel

  • @EvilMonkey11C When he sets the fuse to impact will dropping the round somehow set it off or does it require more impact than that? In a few words how stable are those rounds? I wouldn't know so Im asking

  • @SumFortisSoldier1 the rounds are pretty stable, there is a ring at he top he twists to arm the shell, he can set it on air burst at a set amount of feet are set to explode on impact. tossing it on the ground wont set it off. it has to be fired from a Mortar to be arm its self.

  • @SumFortisSoldier1

They are not "supposed" to set until actually fired .. On my first range they literally threw a round on the ground to show us. I also saw a 60 round crushed in a stryker door without going off. Seen them fall of racks, so they seem to be pretty stable.

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 those are training rounds, not H.E so there is a in shaped like a E going through the top under the white spot, hes pullin it out, the E shaped pin is a bit more round ofcourse.

  • @WeEdEdONe what is difference between them i mean either mechanism is different or ??

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 Actually, he is removing a safety pin from the nose of the round. The yellow band around the tail of the round is the charge. Adding or removing these will increase and or decrease the distance the round will travel. These rounds are "charge 1" while the max is, unless things have changed, is charge 6.

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 pulling the safety pin the training rounds are the only ones that have them, then he sets the fuse....like it matters training rounds are for bitches. let me see some H E or wille P!!!!!

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 his puling a safty pin

im not in the army but its easy to understand it ;-)

  • @SuperAaaaa123456

In the best conditions you'll know what kind of mission you are shooting and have them set already. 99 percent of our missions being against personal we always had ours on proximity before hand.

  • training rnds gay lol must have been tough & no they dont explod they dont do shit

  • @foxus08 Training rounds do explode, they just don't make an explosion as big as combat rounds. I would like to see you at the landing end of these rounds, since they don't do shit...

  • so seeing as i've read these are training rounds, do they still explode on impact? what is the range in miles/km's of this mortar system?

  • i used to be in a 120mm mortar platoon. it depends on the charges used in the mortar and the elevation being layed. max range is around 6km if i remembered correctly

  • Awesome!

  • blue shells for training

  • wow must of been realy loud

  • high angle hell

  • what happens if he drops one of those mother fuckers

  • it may get very messy,

  • wow army gets blu body training rounds?

We dont get that shit, and yea he does need to get faster. I can be goin fast as fuck and my gunner would still be screaming bloody murder @ me

  • that ammo bearer needs to got alot fucking faster on prepping those rounds.

  • I feel your pain, haha.

  • word of advice for the AB. from personal experience i found its alot easier to get the safety clips off without gloves on.

  • try double loading it, & see what happens...

  • Hehe the Loader is too slow,he cant give the Shells fast enough. Why they dont prepare some rounds (get them out of tube and arm the fuze) to fire??

  • probably wouldn't be safe to that

  • ima enlist in the army just to do that

  • slow fire

  • Very good video.

  • the guy take the shells out of the tubes got tried pretty quick they must be heavy

  • they are about 20kilos each so ya i gues they are heavy

  • what happens if i put my head in front of the turret while it's been triggered?i'm kidding, nice!

  • lmao hmmmm idk how bout ur head goes buh bye lol

  • @metalmorfwsi you get a headache

  • sweetness...
