He can only see the driver who is a white man. The other black man got out of the ambulance and confronted the cop. Not blaming him at all, he was standing up for his employee, but there was no racism involved in pulling him over. The cop was getting mad at everybody he saw.
This is an example of an officer that does not have control of his anger. The ambulance driver and partner clearly stated that there was a patient in the back. He was calm and the officer wasnt, the officer should be tought a lesson or fierd. If it was the officers mother, brother, sister,aunt, cuzin or any apart of his family it would be a different story. Officers who prove to have anger problems should not be on the force.

@deecuriouscat is wrong. A medic or ambulance will not run code unless a patient is unresponsive in a run what they had. If the patient is alert and awake the siren can potentially upset them and make their condition worse. The Medic unit cannot make sudden and erratic manouvers while rendering treatment. There is a level of professional respect that was not given by the officers part here.

Was it a heart attack or a fainting spell? Make up another problem she was having! ANY emergency vehicle per state law must engage their emergency equipment to drive against the laws on the road. PERIOD! This includes the speed, traffic signals and roadway lane markers. Amazing as it sounds this isn't the only video or story on this incident. Several other stories indicated the "patient" that was in such dire need of care to have everyone leave her alone was in and out of consciousness

@golapd No, though the video was unclear for those never in the medical field. The patient was exhibiting symptoms of the beginning of a heart attack or a mild heart attack. If you upset a patient at that stage, it can make the heart attack bigger and they have more of a chance of dying of a heart attack ("exacerbates" means "makes it worse"). If you put the lights and sirens on it upsets the patient, so even though it was an emergency, they couldn't run lights and sirens.

There are numerous other ailments that if the paitent was upset could worsen their condition, and they're still rushed to the hospital. @golapd 1. The video said *a* fainting spell. If a person faints, after they come too, they are aware of their surroundings so she would know if there were lights flashing and a siren going. 2. Since you misobserved a report of a fainting spell for an episode of in and out of consciousness to the point that the patient did not know what was going on, that may explain why you do not think that you have ever seen an ambulance rushing someone to the hospital without lights or a siren. That does not mean that no EMS respects the fact that they could kill a patient by running lights and sirens in certain circumstances. Some medical services give their trained medical personnel the latitude to judge whether the best care of the patient is to take just a little extra time and keep them calm or if every second is more vital than keeping the patient calm. What happened is the cop got his adrenaline up for the emergency call, and then didn't have a bad guy at the call to take it out on, so he took it out on the ambulance crew.

The officer was trying to speak to the driver. If the patient was in such dire need of care his rear end should have stayed in the ambulance to care for his patient. Maybe the driver shouldn't have flipped off the officer and none of this would have happened. Talk about making is sound like she was going to die. PLEASE!!!

Obviously either the cop is lying when he says that the ambulance driver flipped him off, or EMS is lying when they said the driver was gesturing that they had a patient in the back, or the cop going past the ambulance quickly, paying at least partial attention to the road and to the police scanner while en route to a police matter - misunderstood the gesture of pointing to the back of the ambulance as being flipped off. (see part 2)

He could have misunderstood or he could have been covering his behind after the fact. Seems strange that during the incident he would have said "gestured" rather than accusing the ambulance driver of flipping him off right then, but it's possible.

The police informed the driver that he was under arrest; the driver walked over and got into the police car (no hand cuffs). After booking, the man calmly walked to the jail cell and if he had the keys, he would have locked the cell himself. Respectful police, engendered respect from the car thief. I must agree with the comments that this officer should be fired. He was told several times that there was a patient in the back of the ambulance that needed to go to the hospital. At that point, that officer should have let the ambulance go. He let his ego get in the way and would not listen to the supervisor. Paramedics don't play around with chest pain. This is an example of an officer that does not have control of his anger. The ambulance driver and partner clearly stated that there was a patient in the back. He was calm and the officer wasnt, the officer should be tought a lesson or fierd. If it was the officers mother, brother, sister,aunt, cuzin or any apart of his family it would be a different story. Officers who prove to have anger problems should not be on the force.

@deecuriouscat is wrong. A medic or ambulance will not run code unless a patient is unresponsive in a run what they had. If the patient is alert and awake the siren can potentially upset them and make their condition worse. The Medic unit cannot make sudden and erratic manouvers while rendering treatment. There is a level of professional respect that was not given by the officers part here.

PERIOD! This includes the speed, traffic signals and roadway lane markers. Amazing as it sounds this isn't the only video or story on this incident. Several other stories indicated the "patient" that was in such dire need of care to have everyone leave her alone was in and out of consciousness

So let me get this straight. It wasn't that big of an emergency to where you'd be using your lights and sirens, but you think the cop should be fired because of the risk to the patient? You can't have it both ways. If the patient's life was in danger you should have been using your lights and sirens. @golapd No, though the video was unclear for those never in the medical field. The patient was exhibiting symptoms of the beginning of a heart attack or a mild heart attack. If you upset a patient at that stage, it can make the heart attack bigger and they have more of a chance of dying of a heart attack ("exacerbates" means "makes it worse"). If you put the lights and sirens on it upsets the patient, so even though it was an emergency, they couldn't run lights and sirens.

Since you misobserved a report of a fainting spell for an episode of in and out of consciousness to the point that the patient did not know what was going on, that may explain why you do not think that you have ever seen an ambulance rushing someone to the hospital without lights or a siren. That does not mean that no EMS respects the fact that they could kill a patient by running lights and sirens in certain circumstances. Some medical services give their trained medical personnel the latitude to judge whether the best care of the patient is to take just a little extra time and keep them calm or if every second is more vital than keeping the patient calm. What happened is the cop got his adrenaline up for the emergency call, and then didn't have a bad guy at the call to take it out on, so he took it out on the ambulance crew.

The officer was trying to speak to the driver. If the patient was in such dire need of care his rear end should have stayed in the ambulance to care for his patient. Maybe the driver shouldn't have flipped off the officer and none of this would have happened. Talk about making is sound like she was going to die. PLEASE!!!

Obviously either the cop is lying when he says that the ambulance driver flipped him off, or EMS is lying when they said the driver was gesturing that they had a patient in the back, or the cop going past the ambulance quickly, paying at least partial attention to the road and to the police scanner while en route to a police matter - misunderstood the gesture of pointing to the back of the ambulance as being flipped off. The police informed the driver that he was under arrest; the driver walked over and got into the police car (no hand cuffs). I am sure the trooper could have called the hospital where the ambulance came from to find out why the ambulance was out and if they had a patient. The first question the trooper should have asked was whether or not there were a patient in the back. Come on man use your common sense.

@jfearless1 the driver did not pull over for him , therefore he had the right to pull him over and second of all the nigs were doing something they shouldnt have . do your homework .

@ROLLTIDE4LIFE100 You are right that the troopers had the right to pull over the ambulance since the ambulance did not have their sirens on and were speeding presumably, but there is a professional etiquette between police officers and paramedics. This obviously wasn't met because the troopers probably saw black people in the ambulance. If it were a white family inside, the troopers probably would have given them a police escort.
