There is a great story on this song, the author Kaviarasar Kannadasan was looking for money to conduct his daughter's marraige. He accidentally penned the lines 'Devarin kulam kakkum vellayya' thinking of devas above. The producer Chinnappa Devar was so impressed and gave him 1 lakh at once. The marriage was conducted. Faith works in strange ways.
