  • :) nice still works whit tracktrain :) i suggest set the invisible to Func_brush and never solidity so ppl can walk trough it so it doesnt seem so Noobsijh :)

  • this is an easier, but less effective way to make an elevator, still it can be usefull.

  • ive seen many do it this way, but the annoying thing about it, is that it not moving smooth if something stands on it

  • doors are the simple way to do it.. if you want more than one floor you need a func_tanktrack

    then path_track's on each floor. set it all up then just make the output a button instead of touch

  • You can too make a trigger at the spawnpoint works almost the same as button.

  • Im making a map where i need a large "wall" to move up from the start of the map, and the point is to climb and outrun the "wall". what could i use so that at the start of the round the "wall" starts to move?

  • what would be a clear or invisible texture, because I tried the texture "invisible" and it's not invisible and if I leave it at a normal texture then the wall goes up with the elevator. Thanks in advance.

  • The best way to make something invisible is use a nodraw texture, browse textures and filter 'tools' and select tools/toolsnodraw.

  • I don't use sdk tools I use the one you download off the sites, for cs 1.6, so they don't have the nodraw texture. As for the pink invisible texture if you can get me the name that was would great and if not can you tell me what .wad file I have to download in order to get it.

    additional info i just found out: if you want the lift to stay where you leave it also mark "toggle" in the func_door's flags.

  • I can't find any func_train entity or anything to do with a train entity in the drop down box. Help would be appreciated!

  • Heh. No worries, with tracktrain, you can assign various keyframes that a brush will follow. Imagine the first Half-Life openning, that train was on a set path, mostly following tracks; but sometimes moving completely up or down.

    You can use this to create multiple points for it to stop/ slow down on OR be user-controlled.

  • Is there any way you can make the lift stop at a floor, because I used this technique you showed me and it kinda just goes straight past the middle floor. Help appriciated!

  • Erm im not sure mate - think this is only a one stop thing im sure there is a way to make stops with path_track or something or func_traintrack? im not sure

  • there is a way to with the track funcs...but it can be complicated to set the triggers on all the buttons from each floor/map might crash if 2 buttons are pressed at once from diff floors so...you might have to make 2 floor elevator, then add a ladder or ramp somewhere nearby

  • box + hollow + carve small door,turn the carved box into a Func_tracktrain when you are in {tie to entity} then name it (name)

    get a path_track from the entity list and name it, then set the box'es

    next path the the path_track and add a button to press, use {on press} {resume} then make the button have the box as a parrent. Note you have to be serious or skilled with hammer to understand this so don't yell at me for you're lack of skill,
