  • How can you say Coconut oil is healthy when it's mostly saturated fat which raises cholesterol and clogs the arteries. My info comes from years in dietary school and the American Heart Association. No one has been able to explain to me how this Saturated fat in Coconut oil is healthy.. I have a jar of virgin cold pressed organic coconut oil and it's 14 grams total fat and of the 14 grams of fat 13 grams are saturated fat or 63% saturated fat. Saturated fat has always raised my cholesterol.

  • Virgin cocunut oil has healed my uncle of Alzheimers disease!

  • There is nothing wrong if we go back to natural way of healing by using natural alternative using medicinal plants readily available in the market. My mom also drinks VCO which helps regulate her digestive system.

  • The Kitava Study revealed that the main fat consumed by the Kitavans was coconut oil, SFA. The Kitavans are lean, avg BMI of 22 and heart disease and other diseases of civilization are practically unknown there. The main causes of death are accidents and old age. The few cases of overweight and CHD were found in urbanized Kitavans that were visiting. Those that remained on the island following the traditional diet of vegetables, fruits, fish and root vegetables had an excellent health status.

  • coconut oil is amazing

    Thank You

  • OMG coconut oil is the BEST!!! I was having some skin disfunction and i was losing my fingerprints on my hands. I went to the doctor and he gave me some cream to make it better. I used that shit for a week, didnt do shit. I put coconut oil on my hand and 3 hours later my fingerprints are BACK!! and i can actually feel the grip on my fingertips again!!!

  • Have just recently found out about the benefit of Coconut oil- how is everyone taking it? DO you just take a spoonful like medicine or mix into drink? Or is it cooked into food?

  • @HybridWaterMan2

Yes the demand for VCO is growing rapidly worldwide. You can take it by the spoonful, mix into drinks or smoothies, and yes also cook with it. Then cover your skin with it when you get out of the shower and also coat your hair and scalp with it. You will visibly notice a difference in your skin within days.

  • @NaturePacific - thanks! I wasn't sure if you could drink it or add to drinks or if it was only used for cooking. I have a small patch of dry skin I may try it on too...

  • @NaturePacific

so true.. my skin feels GREAT... i like how it turns from a solid to a liquid. i can put my jar in hot water and it melts and can pour some in my hand and put on as body oil. it is wonderful. My skin really feels good. i just night let my husband use some of it. LOL

  • I always use coconut oil for frying because of the high heat point. I use it in baking in place of other oils, put it in smoothies too. I also try to use coconut products like coconut milk/cream and dried in my cereal/baking. Actually I like to have a table spoon straight too! Really amazed by the health benefits.

  • @HybridWaterMan2 You just use it to fry you meet, eggs ... anything instead of using butter or oils. I mix it a bit thru my veggies after its boiled. Small amount is enough.

  • I love the benefits of coconut oil that I have found out for myself to be true. It has helped with my sciatica immensely! Right now I am preg and want to get some more to see if it will not only help with my gestational diabetes (lower my blood sugar levels), but maybe it'll help prevent or at least lessen back pain during labor. It definitely helps lubricate the joints and helps regular fats pass through your system quicker instead of being stored in the body.

  • Can i work there? Great summer job... lol

  • The Coconut Oil in the jars shown at the end of this movie appears to be liquid, but Coconut oil should be a Solid at room temp due to it's high saturated fat levels. This looks wrong to me and indicates additives are in this Oil....

  • @latinaloveruk The video footage for this story was made in the summer months in Australia when the VCO is liquid. For more information on this go to: LEARN MORE - Difference between Coconut Oil or Butter? at the Nature Pacific .com website

  • @NaturePacific : Thank you for this info. I will check out your site. Is Coconut milk (the kind you get in tins for cooking with Asian food) Healthy too ? My wife (who is Thai) doesnt think so, but surely it is, given all the info we now know. Regards

  • @latinaloveruk

you know Silk now makes Coconut milk you can get in the cooler at grocery store. I think we are talking about the coconut oil it is a solid then when you heat it turns to liquid. turns to liquid in your hands too. amazing

you can find at Indian Stores or some healtfood stores, someone said walmarts. or even ONLINE

  • @latinaloveruk It becomes solid during cold weather

  • I read where people with hiv are using coconut water to help kill their virus. Apparently something about its chemistry breaks down the coating on the virus , allowing the body to defeat it.

  • @tbursee For more information on this go to: VIDEOS/INTERVIEWS secetion on NATURE PACIFIC.com website there are some great videos on the subject.

  • @tbursee love to read that article you did a few of my friends would by interested if it works the way you say it does can you help

    thanks

  • @tbursee yeah i heard that too

  • what is coconut oil therapy?

  • @cheeco8 Are you refering to OIL PULLING?

  • does it have to be virgin coconut oil? or can it just be coconut oil?

  • What is the difference between virgin coconut oil, pure coconut oil, organic coconut oil and unrefined coconut oil? and which one is the best to use and why?

  • @blissfullyme1980 did you ever find a answer to your ?

  • @kambridge967 no, no answers so I just use Nutiva Coconut oil it's organic, extra virgin, unrefined and cold pressed I heard it's the best.

  • @blissfullyme1980 yeah but the "extra" in the Nutiva brand is a marketing scheme. It is the same as virgin coconut oil. No difference at all.

  • @blissfullyme1980 For more information on this go to: VIDEOS/INTERVIEWS secetion on NATURE PACIFIC.com website there are some great videos on the subject. Also in the LEARN MORE section of the site. Lots of information that will answer all your questions.

  • Hey, I am a consumer of Coconut Oil, can I work for you in Fiji PLEASE?? Hire me hire me!!

    :D

I have a lot of nutritional knowledge.

  • is it ok if a person ONLY consumes coconut in an oil form, or do u recommend a person consumes coconut in other ways.

  • you should consume at least 3 table spoons per day, its best to break it down to one table spoon per meal, and consuming 1 tablespoon before you sleep at night to aid as a cleanser

  • where did u get this information

  • I take my coconut oil with some raw cocoa powder and xylitol or honey mixed in. It's really nice.

  • @germanicelt - Skip the xylitol, keep everything else. The body does not recognize xylitol as anything useful and treats it as a pathogen (stores it in FAT to keep it away from internal organs) - same goes for all artificial sweeteners. This is why switching from regular soda to 'diet' soda will not help anyone lose weight.

  • But Xylitol is not an artificial sweetener. It's found naturally occuring in many plants.

  • I did not say Xylitol was artificial, I said it was not recognized as useful by the body, and thus stored in fat, like all artificial sweeteners are. Xylitol can't rightly be called 'natural' either - it has to be chemically processed from the natural sugar source which is xylose. Once processed into Xylitol, it's not even a natural sugar anymore, but in fact, is an ALCOHOL. Xylitol is a poison.

  • Have you ever heard of coconut sugar, and if so what is your opinion on it?

  • I haven't heard of 'coconut sugar' per se, but I imagine there's a fair amount of sugar in coconut. It's usually best to avoid sugars that have been chemically removed from their natural containers. I'd just go for the actual coconut meat which contains fiber to help you properly metabolize the sugar. Basically, this is the same as with orange juice. OJ--which is very high in sugar--is not as healthy as an orange with fiber. The sugar in OJ can make you fat! Please watch: watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

  • What are your views on Maple syrup as a sweetener?

  • I'm sending you a PM, please check your mail =)

  • @FoodOrFail The coconut sap from the frest frond makes a most beautiful coconut sugar we call in our traditional language 'Kaimaimai' It has very low GI and we boil the fresh sap and it becomes beautiful syrup like maple syrup. It is a completely natural sweetner. Some companies are now crystalizing it as coconut sugar, but we will release the product in the future as a natural coconut syrup like our Island community has been making for centuries.

  • @FoodOrFail Xylitol is a sugar alcohol,

like sorbitol. Xylitol is poisonous to dogs as it releases enough insulin to plunge them into a hypoglycemic coma and kill them.

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcoholl

found in many fruits and berries.

  • @germanicelt - Oh yeah and make sure the honey you take is organic, raw, unfiltered. The heat processed, filtered (clear) honeys are all bad for you. Cheers!

  • Interesting and informative video! How much coconut oil do you recommend eating in a day? Do I need to cut calories from other areas of my diet to avoid gaining weight? Thanks

  • No you do not need to cut down on calories. The opposite, coconut oil helps boost your metabolism and thus help lose weight.

  • i love virgin coconut oil! my mom, who's a diabetic, has been able to get her blood sugars down to 114 for the first time in 19 years! she's been taking the recomended amount of virgin coconut oil in the book, Virgin Coconut Oil by Brian Shilhavy & Marianita Jader Shilhavy, and as usual been watching her diet. she has now successfully gotten off of all her diabetes medicine! virgin coconut oil has proven to be incredible in my life & my family's.

  • @ovrth3rainbow - that's an amazing story! great.

  • I have two bottles of coconut oil and one forms a solid (room temp is 20 C) and the other remains a liquid. Do you know which is better in quality? Thanks.

  • This is the perfect example of additives or other impurities when virgin coconut oil does not quickly solidfy between 18-22C. Pure VCO will quickly turn solid as soon as the temperature drops. I would be extremely wary of any type of supposed VCO that did not do this. In fact, there is no way that it could be considered to be VIRGIN coconut oil if it stays liquid.

  • I use a lot of coconut flour for the fiber. any other benefits?

  • Yes there is a big difference between long chain fatty acids normally found in saturated fats and also trans fat. The great difference with Virign Coconut Oil is that it is a medium chain fatty acid. A different fatty acid molocule. This is where the misunderstanding comes in.

  • Is cold pressed better than boiled coconut oil?

  • Once you boil fresh coconut oil over 60 degrees (boiling) you destroy the important Vitamin E content. That is why cold pressing is the best. I do not recommend boiling or wet milling for this reason.

  • How about leaving it under the sun for extraction of the oil? Can the same oil be used to drink and apply on the skin and hair? Thanks.

  • No not possible as the coconut once cut open will quickly ferment and spoil within 24 hours. That is why VCO has to be processed quickly to keep the oil as fresh as possible and remove the high moisture content to stop the oil fermenting.

  • you missed the whole point of the video
