one of my all time favorite Metallica songs. Really captures the feel of the Call of Cthulhu story. couple of interesting things I haven't seen others mention before: HP Lovecraft was a writer from the 1920s who wrote mostly short stories. Cthulhu is only actually mentioned in the one story, The Call of Cthulhu. Also, the "Call" came to Cthulhu's potential followers thru dreams (or nightmares) which the Metallica song really seems to capture the feel of to me. ps-Palendre is the man
You sir are awesome. As I have grown from child to teen and into adulthood I've noticed how some of my friends have begun to shy away from things they did in our teens and 20's. Now at 33 I think other than being married 10 years and having a child that I'm pretty much the same as I was in those days. And you are showing the world that you are who you are. Damn what the world thinks you should be or act. Be who you are, not what other expect of you.
@EternalSanctuary2 Be your own grandson n learn it for yourself ;) buy cheap guitar, learn the basics, buy better guitar, make it sound your own, go out and play, touch some souls, crack some hard skulls, stand up for what is inside oh and, again, nice tunes, nice playin, gotta love it
i'll be honest with you...lots of respect to you! i really hope and wish i could be like you when i grow older and keep playing and loving metal. this is one of my favourite songs.
Szégyen hogy ennyien látták ezeket a remek cover-öket, csak így tovább! / Such a shame that these covers have so few views, what's wrong with you people ? :p

@gibby831 Yes, I'm sure he went and bought over $5,000 worth of equipment just to fake for a few thousand views on YouTube with no financial return. Are you that stupid?
Lovecraft <3.
stop calling him grandpa...wtf guys!! show some respect. he's doing an outstanding job covering songs from a band i kind of dont like. palendre, good job man, u got me listening to metallica again! shameless request?...a band called The Force the song is Storm of Steel. they are kind of hard to come by as they are from paraguay, relatively new to the scene though. good job and keep em comming!!!! \m/ \m/
Cthulhu is essentially a great old god of evil in HP Lovecraft's books. He sleeps deep underwater awaiting the time to rise from the ocean and enslave all living. His "Call" is the call to his followers, the madmen and cults that are making sacrifices and praise him so he can gain power to rise again. This song's tempo and development is all about the horror fantasies that people see in their dreams when they hear his Call. Hope that will help to understand emotions behind this song. Keep rockin
