Anyone out there who felt like they needed to, or wanted to pull the plug on their love, check out the song by the shaking like a leaf, Joe Cocker and his song Saint James Infirmery. Most of you probably have never even heard of this song.Pull it up.Starz kicked ass.
I remember cruising with this in the 8 track tape player of my mustang with the Mind Blower speakers cranked. Still sounds as sweet today, 30 years later, as it did then.
ha ha! YES!! i can't believe the shit i find on youtube! oh man! ok, but i am looking for a song from the same time period called, "DOA" and it even has the sound of an ambulance in the song. i can't remember who did it.
Remember Karen Ann Quinlan? This was the girl that made nation wide news from going into a coma after digesting some drugs from a party she went to. She was on a ventilator up until 1976 when she was removed from it and lived till 1985 in a vegetative state then died. The band Starz wrote this song about her being removed from the machine....
@HoosierLine I have a record of STARZ where they pointed out that critics said this song was in bad taste, but the info you gave I didnt know, BUT HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE SONG "Reggae Plug"?
love this song!!!! saw them 2 nights in a row in Lou,ky in the 70's and it was when they were making the "live" LP!!! does anybody rember a song by Bloodrock called D.O.A? that was dark too but rocked!!!
When she was 21, Quinlan became unconscious after arriving home from a party. She had consumed diazepam, dextropropoxyphene, and alcohol. After she collapsed and stopped breathing twice for 15 minutes or more, the paramedics arrived and took Karen Ann to the hospital, where she lapsed into a persistent vegetative state. After she was kept alive on a ventilator for several months without improvement, her parents requested the hospital discontinue active care and allow her to die.
A great band from a great time in music. other stand outs from this era was Savatage(a bit heavier/darker and Legs Diamond). I heard this on Sirius Radio (The Bone-yard) the other day brought back great memories
@sankfinatra could of been some kind of hybrid because there's also a little Ian A. from The Cult in there. Of course some kind of wormhole would of had to be involved to make the time frame work if you catch my drift

Really COOL and UNIQUE song...ROCK-N-ROLL from my day! Billy

I love AC/DC but I'm wondering if they might've copied "Pull The Plug" for "Night Prowler" from their "Highway To Hell" classic album.
Starz should've made it bigger...that's all there is to it. Awesome band.

@congoindiana And twenty years later, she was still lying in that bed, like a shriveled string bean, saying F-You to humanity...
