CryEngine 3 was updated from CryEngine 2. Crysis 2 was nerfed during development to allow consoles to play without making two separate games. An easy port, if you will. After all, consoles were the target audience. CryEngine 3 never showcased its full potential. The SDK is out and artists are able to grasp their own and the engine's full potential.

However, much still needs to be updated in it.

Forget super detail wheres our frames, I mean as nice as these pics are, I think even cryengine 2 would look amazing(er) if we fixed the optimization issues which basically ate all of our fps, now cryengine 3 with optimization and a little elbow grease should look amazing on even run of the mill gaming computers, that would be a definite win for pc gamers and even console gamers too. One answer to this video - dream on.Thanks to the fact its also coming to consoles i doubt the PC game looks much advanced in graphics when compared to Crysis 1.And no digital molecular matter type stuff either , most likely.
