So in that sense, maybe Carl took on the role of himself more in some sense and at times exaggerated it, but it all comes from a honest core of what Karl truly is.

Karl isn't totally wrong here, which is amazing. Primatologists have documented female chimpanzees granting sexual access to males that share prized food items, like meat. Each country's "Office" has different versions of David Brent/Michael Scott. It's inspired by the original show, but after the pilot, which uses some of the same scripting, even, that show moves in its own direction.

I'd put money on these "Pilkington is fake" conspiracy theorists being from the US. Clearly they've never been to England - Manchester is full of Pilkington-esque thinkers! In character? Karl is not an actor.. I recommend any doubters to read the chimpanze news section of Ricky gervais' blog.. U can understand from it that Karl never wanted to be famous as an "idiot" (an idiot with a head like a fucking orange), the things he talks about on the show r things he talks about outside the snow. @danielvlee No, Steve Carell has the role of Michael Scott...it was never intended for Ricky Gervais (at least not publicly) to have Michael Scott's role. Each country's "Office" has different versions of David Brent/Michael Scott. It's inspired by the original show, but after the pilot, which uses some of the same scripting, even, that show moves in its own direction.
