As an Islander fan, I wouldn't deny they have a bad team this year. Keep in my mind they are rebuilding and have been decimated by injuries. Unfortunately they also have had owners who don't care about the club and put no money into the team. Ranger fans don't have worry about that, the team never has to rebuild. I would love to see the teams be competitive at the same time, which has been far to long.

Naslund lead the team in scoring the season he played with us, and then retired the very next year, I don't view him as a negative at all. Higgins was traded to the Rangers in the Gomez deal, purely to free up space. Jokinen was only traded here as a salary dump when the Rangers traded Higgins and Kotalik away near the deadline. My favorite Islanders fail of all time is trading Zdeno Chara and there 2nd overall pick (Jason Spezza) to Ottawa for Alexei Yashin. Great sign him to a 10 year contract and then buy him out, what a genius plan. Ive been to couple Ranger vs Islander games at the Nassau land fill, and there are 1/5 islander "fans" there. As an Islander fan, I wouldn't deny they have a bad team this year. Keep in my mind they are rebuilding and have been decimated by injuries. Unfortunately they also have had owners who don't care about the club and put no money into the team. Ranger fans don't have worry about that, the team never has to rebuild. I would love to see the teams be competitive at the same time, which has been far to long.

Rangers still have the crappiest history as an original six team, so its hard for Rangers fans to say any team sucks, when there team is general, is a pretty lackluster franchise. Unless you want to talk about there years of taking in old superstars who had already past their prime.

As for your other crap, Tavares isn't a dud, anyone who has any idea of what hockey is would know that. Our offense is lacking, it doesn't "suck." You throw a Gaborik on there and your as good as the Rangers offense, honestly and statistically. As for defense, its mostly even younger than the offense, The D is still being built around young guys. And thats it, they don't suck, its called rebuilding.
