  • @ChronicFatigueSyn Geez, MCAT? I think I was right at a 30. Just get around there or above (like 28 or higher probably) and you should at least get some places to look at you. I used Kaplan, I think, but that was because my school provided the resources as part of our tuition. Just get loads of practice exams as that test is much more about how you test than your knowledge base. Good luck on it. ENT has facial plastics as a fellowship, so keep us in mind!

  • im 17 years old..can i become a doctor with a ged..will i be able to get into a 4 year undergrad university

  • @HuRR305CaNeZ Of course! You just need to apply to a healthy amount of universities. Try to get into a big state one or something because that will usually help get you into medical school. It's a tough road, though, so make sure you want it - and try to get exposure during undergrad with doctors to really be sure. Hope that helps!

  • I know you're interested in ENT, but I was wondering what kind of research opportunities would you recommend for family practice/internal medicine residency application. I don't have any past research experience; I just need direction. Thanks for putting in the time to make these videos. I know you must be very busy.

  • @xxthunderbird46xx Sure and thanks for the support. Best way for just about any area of medicine is 2 fold. Number one, start simple. By that I mean doing general research since that what residency is (i.e. something applicable to internal medicine not a branch like cardiology). Second, contact the CHAIRMAN of the department. Hook-up with them by calling/email and scheduling. They know who's got stuff going on and can refer you. Third option is asking counselors and seeking out-of-state.

  • Thank you so much for giving your take on third year. You are extreemely funny. Please make more videos if you have time.

  • thank you so much for doing this!!!

  • @mzdiva2000 No problem. It's my pleasure to try and help out other students since this thing can really be a crap shoot.

  • @cmanroseful i'm a sophomore in high school and i cant wait to start med school!! thanks again!

  • @mzdiva2000 Well good for you. I hope you find a great pre-med program and shadow some docs to figure out where you think you'll fit in. If you have any questions, you can ask and I'll do my best to help. Congratulations on a long but hopefully worth it road.

  • @cmanroseful i dont know why i said high school! i meant college wth! but im in a great program at yale and working at the hospital here in the city. i've shadowed one doc and looking for others. but there is a question i've been looking for. What supplies do i need for the first year?

  • @mzdiva2000 Ha, ha. Typical girl saying she's younger than she is! Really you don't need "supplies" first year. Depending on where you go, most medical school offer almost all materials online. The major supply I used was a laptop for this reason - lots of PowerPoints, Word Docs, etc. A good laptop is probably the biggest thing and pencil for tests. You also may look at my Second Year vid as it discusses texts good for Boards which you will take at the end of second year.

  • @cmanroseful haha ill always look 20 years old.but i'll take a look at it! thank you very much. i subscribed to you btw lol.

  • Ur better than most ppl doing med school videos. U need to do a better job in setting up the video so that more ppl who search med school, USMLE, etc. actually find it. There are a lot of nonsense med school videos with more views.

  • @TheRainmaker78 Yeah, it gets hard to get noticed on YouTube without the 3 requirements: views, ratings, and comments. I can type keywords all day, make a good title, etc. and nothing will change. I started this project thinking, "Hey, maybe people are searching for stuff like this like I was." but now I'm not so sure. I do my best to help those that run across my stuff but I refuse to spam on other channels for notice. Anyway, thanks for the subscribe and compliment!

  • the guy who plays the doctor in this is a great actor!! he should really check out heading to new york to do broadway. this video was very informative. good choice with ear, nose, and throat i may consider the same....maybe=) but the kid running in circles may need some help though......haha "making it rain, making it rain"

  • @jrorose Oh, my fans, you are so kind. I just came from Broadway so I'll try to work my movie deals soon.

  • Great video. I am in the first year of my BS/MD program, and I dream of being in your shoes one day. Your video contains great advice. Also congrats on choosing otolaryngology. I know you will match into a great program.

  • @KHAN388991 That's awesome! Yeah, it's one of those "long but feels short" roads to where I am. ORL is great, but there are so many awesome fields out there that fit any type of personality. You know what you want to do yet? It's so fun to actually do something you love so I really hope you do well. Just message with any questions you may have and I'll do my best to help.
