At 4:13 Tom's mother on the answering machine is actually Martin Scorcese' real mother, see the movie Good Fellas and compare the voice of his real mom who plays Joe Pesci's mother in that film.
I loved seeing these deleted scenes but Scorsese sure knew what to cut. Any of these would have changed the movie for the worse (except the last one with June.) The movie is so perfect how it is.
Yeah, so true. I wonder what happened to him though, I've been trying to find some of his recent work, and all I could find were movies in which he played minor, often uncredited roles..
Perfect!
I just finished watching this film the other night. I have to say, it's the best Scorsese film before THe Departed that I have seen. The ending, which from what I have read was debated, is one of the best endings one could imagine for a film like this.
very, very cool... but I do think Marty did the right thing leaving these scenes out... a bit ponderous. Enjoyable to watch, but might have weighed down an excellent film.
i love this Film :) the first ever Scorsese film i saw :)

That's the protagonist from Romero's "Bucket of Blood" at 6:05.

Yes, the last scene wih June should've stayed in. The other scenes are interesting to watch, but they don't contribute much to the story.

Griffin Dunne is so subtle and awesome in this movie. I can't picture anyone else playing his part.

Concordo com todos os sentidos produzidos pelo teu comentário. Não é à toa que levou Cannes de Melhor Direção.

One of my favorite movies from that time. It's great to see more of the perils of Paul after all these years! Thanks for posting.

The idea of this ending was given by Michael Powell himself.
