  • lol weird ass song

  • @sylvain265 Yes I did..

  • @Earnhardt12345 is it hard to find out were you put the tap?

  • how do u make the little strips

  • @fenderstratplayer14 Bought 1/8" tape from a hobby store

  • what kind of paint what brand of spray paint what type

  • @Metallicaforever95 Rustoleum Painters Choice

  • thats a hot guitar

  • Earnhardt, What brand of paint did you use? Spraycans? I'm in the process of doing this to an older ibanez sabre. I just filled one single coil, leavin the neck pos.

single and brige hb. I used minwax wood filler(bondo) and deft sand and seal. Presently on prime coat. How long did you let color coat set and clear ? It looks great!

  • @tubeframebuell I used spray cans and the paint never really hardened. You should consider using a sprayer with better quality paint.

  • Rofl. I like this song.

  • Awesome job on the paintjob , 5*s...much more "sharper-looking" guitar now :D Rock on man!

  • is that a 7 string?

  • @snickers763 Its a 6-string..

  • quick question i have a telecaster im trying to repaint should i sand all the way to bare wood or should i just rough up the surface and just paint it from there?

  • @skateandparkour if your still haveing trouble check out my vidio

  • how you covered the neck pickup excavation?

  • Bondo..

  • very nice

  • Thank you..

  • i have 1 question though how long do you think it will take me to do my stratocaster like this?

once i get a new guitar im planning to do this to my old one but i might do black and blue

  • 2 months if the weather is good. If not 3 months maybe.

  • alrigth thanks...

  • wow.. only looks like a couple of days (no offence to your work it looks great) i just mean, it doesnt look like it would take 2 months lol

    great job!

  • i have a question i jus painted my guitar but if scratches very easily so i want to know if there is something i can put in??

    tks

  • I have the same issue. The clearcoat is very soft.

  • didn't eddie put that guitar in dimebag's casket when he died?

  • That is the one...

  • killer paint job...i can paint real good to....cheers!!

  • awesome man, you're a profissional =)

    very nice paint

    :)

  • the vid was good but the song sucks :I

  • Thanks. I will change the song for you.

  • sweet guitar

  • Dude you did a great job.

I have some questions. Are krylon sprays good for this?

How much time i must wait to pass some sand paper to the guitar and then to pass the next coat?

Cause i use the same sand paper as you but when i use it the paint gets like scratched.

Please answer me cause this keeps happening to me and i don't know what to do about it lol.

  • Thanks man.

Krylon worked OK. The clear coat was causing the yellow and black coats to orange peel.

I would apply 3-4 coats of one color in one day. Wait 2-3 days and then wet sand with water and 1000 grit.

I'll tell you, this was a tough job and would not do it again. It tool a lot of time and it was fun 1 time.

    Take it easy.

  • Great, thanks dude.

For the clear coat (finishing), should i do it as the other paint coats? (I would apply 3-4 coats of one color in one day. Wait 2-3 days and then wet sand with water and 1000 grit.) Is Krylon clear coat okay for this too? Sorry maybe i'm a bit disturbing with my questions lol.

Btw thank you for your comment in my video =)

  • I used the Krylon clear coat. You need to wait 3 or 4 weeks so the other coats are fully dry. I didn't do that and the black wrinkled. I was still able to sandout, but I would wait. After the clear coat, it took almost 2 months to fully dry. I live in Calif which is a dry, but still tool for ever to dry. I played the guitar while it was drying, but it was easy to ding the clearcoat.

    Rock on!

  • Okay dude, thanks for all your suggestions! =)

  • how did you fill the neck cavity?

  • I used Bondo. Works very good.

  • what paint did you use?

  • Rustoleum "Painter's Choice". Sunshine Yellow, Black, and Clearcoat

  • I don't know much about refinishing a guitar, I just bought a Fender Heartfield Talon V on eBay and has this ugly green metallic flake color and I'd like to repaint it. Do I just sand down the original paint job, paint over it with primer and then go over it again with the color I'd like?

  • Yes. You need to rough up the old paint so the primer will stick. Go with the color coat (3-4 coats) then the clearcoat (2-3 coats).

  • This design looks great with the Ibanez superstrat shape.

  • Thanks.. Now I just have to get the thing to stay in tune. The tremelo is not to reliable.

  • that looks pretty BA, also I noticed your picture has you and gene simmons in it, where'd you meet him?

  • Thanks. My first shot a painting a guitar. That is The Orignal Kiss Army tribute band. They look like the real thing and play very good. Take it easy..

  • hey good job!

  • Thanks. I saw your guitar and it lokks nice.

  • Nice!

  • Thanks!
