  • Bet you needed a cup of cha after that effort ! but very nice organ.

  • Glad you enjoyed the music. That's a great old song.

  • Is this the john smith scale?

  • Yes, the Castlewood organ kit was designed using the John Smith 20 note roll.

  • You should be able to contact Popular Mechanics and order a copy of December 1982 edition. It contains a complete artical for building the two octave calliope and lists materials needed. bobh

  • Bob: Actually I was inquiring about the organ you built from the Popular Mechanics December 1982 plans. I have built the Castlewood and enjoyed that project very much.

  • Bob: Would you share the plans ? I would like to build one.

  • Bob: Would you share the plans ? I would like to build one.

  • @beach324 Hello, This Castlewood organ is constructed from a kit. All wood is laser cut and it goes together very well. The kit comes from Australia. You can order one by going to the Castlewood Website. bobh

  • Ha! I didn't even realize it said i was 91! I am actually 27, and the sailors Horn pipe was used in a TV show called Futurama. But its a catchy tune nonetheless!

  • @denimvest Howdy!!!! I looked at your profile and thought I saw 91. After looking again I don't see any age. I must be losing it. Anyway thanks very much for watching video!! bobh

  • Pop a Poppler in your mouth, when you come to Fishy Joe's...

  • @denimvest Howdy Jordan, Nice Bible name. Are those some lyrics to Sailer's Hornpipe? You are 20 years older than me. Hope I make it to 91 and more. Take care. bobh

  • Best ever! This is what these organs are all about- pure joy!

  • Very glad you enjoyed this. Organ pipes create the purist form of music it seems to me. bobh

  • I want to learn how to play that instrument!

  • @skippy127 it is easy just turn the handles

  • ok so what basic hand tools do you need for this again?? I"m sure they dont even have to be power tools do they??

  • @circusboy90210 Since this organ is constructed from a kit all the wood parts are laser cut. No power tools needed.

  • @bobeileen1 oh ok well I"m looking to make my own parts.

  • this made me crack up

    great job

  • @Mossman1223 happy you like it

  • This is pretty interesting. I like the happy tone it has.

  • @LNERMallard Glad you like it. SURE AM SORRY ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL. All we can do with situations like this is leave it with JESUS. (John 3:16)

  • this somehow brought me a nostalgia... A delicious one.

  • @Tsukiyomaru0 Happy to be of service. Nastalgia is cool. Jesus Savior Pilot Me, Over Life's TEMPESTUOUS sea. Bobh

  • you need to smile while playing this cause it makes me laugh

  • @zombieturd7 Yes sir, I must learn to smile! bobh

  • Bob, I admired the finish you gave your Castlewood organ so much that when I built mine, ( number 165 ) I gave it a somewhat similar finish. The construction and finishing process was a lot of work but I enjoyed every bit of it. Your other instruments are all wonderful as well. Really beautiful work.

  • Really glad you like the finish on #139! I'm pleased you were able to get some ideas for finishing #165. Your comments are truly appreciated. These 20 note organs are great. BobH

  • Very nice organ.

  • @bkisme I'm glad you approve of this project! It was fun to assemble.

  • Does anyone know where I gan get plans for one of these? or buy one?

  • Beautiful machine and beautiful tune.

  • Very nice hearing from you in this manner. Thanks very much.

  • SAILER'S HORNPIPE. It's very old. Don't know history of it. Take care way over there!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • O, sory, I'm not perceptive.. xD

  • Is that a 'hurdy gurdy'?

  • No but it would be fun to have one. This machine is a 20 pipe street organ or busker organ. It plays punched rolls like a player piano. Bob

  • NO WAY THEY USED THAT IN THE ORIGINAL Mickey Mouse (black and whites)!!!!!!!!!!

  • You got it!! This is the original Mickey Mouse music making machine but only in my dreams. Your Site Page is beautiful with the pan flute wall paper.

  • Glad you liked that one!! I listened to the Vibraband Man and was totally amazed. Thanks.

  • This organ is not for sale. It was constructed from a Castlewood Pipe Organ kit. You can find there Website online. It is a great project.

  • oh awesome! thanks.

  • Glad you liked that song! The vibraband man is really great. Thanks.

  • how much do you want for it?

  • Hi John. Good to hear from you again. The Castlewood was constructed from the kit. It was not modified in any way. I see you are now 69. I turned 69 Nov 15th. I'm glad to report construction on your Universal Organ beginning July 7th. I spent three evenings in backyard looking at the plans, drawings and watching the video. Almost decided it was beyond my ability but decided to just make the D# bass pipe and keep on reading. Now I'm well into it! Thanks for the fantastic project! Bob

  • Hi Bob. Is this a standard Castlewood or have you enlarged it ?

I do really like all your videos keep them coming

    John

  • Very good. It's great to see another Castlewood organ playing so well. I own number 130, whick took five months to build.

I hope you post some more videos.

  • Excellent...

  • Thanks. Let us continue making music together.

  • very nice, cool

  • Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks

  • That is Just WONDERFUL!! I'm 26, I've heard the tune, but have NEVER seen a Busker Organ! I Love it!! It looks like it will keep your arms toned, and I just love it! Thank you for sharing all your music- We Love it! ~Leandra

  • Thanks, Leandra!!! Super glad you love it. I'd like to make a larger one sometime. This music is lots of fun. BobH

  • I am curious as to why your busker organ has a crank on each side. I've not seen that before.

  • There is a slight resistance in the crank cycle each time the bellows close. Since the two crank option was available I decided to use it. The cranks are set 90 degrees apart. This helps maintain a consistant turning speed. Some years ago I machined a two cylinder marine steam engine with cranks set in this way. Maybe that's where this idea came from!

  • Did you have to program the whole piece or did that come with it?! That is simply wonderful, and well tuned.

  • Really glad you enjoyed this!! The organ uses punched music rolls much like a player piano. Pre-punched rolls are available Online. Many songs are available.

  • Wow! That sounded great!! Wow, that means you made the organ your self? Good show! I've always wanted one of these so I could dress my little brother up in a moneky suit and go organ grinding on the street =) Do you know where one could come to procure one of these kits?

  • Glad you enjoyed the song!! The kit is from Castlewood Pipe Organs in Australia. Check GOOGLE for Website. All parts are laser cut and fit together very well.

  • beautiful sound, and intricate design

  • Thanks very much. This organ was constructed from a kit.
