  • The only LP I ever owned that I wore out the grooves twice...

  • It used to piss me off when the radio DJ`s would cut the song and add the all mixed up part.

  • i cant tell you how many drugs were taken during this year!

  • Moving in stereo

  • I love the sax at the end of all mixed up. Great ending.

  • Im seeing meg, and tom tucker from familyguy... xD

  • I still have this on wax!!!

  • This was my favorite band in the late '70's and early '80's, my middle and high school years. Good times... Great memories associated with this music. R.I.P. Benjamin Orr

  • I'm seeing a pool, sprinklers...red...bikini...

  • Still one of the coolest pop songs of all time...~

  • Anybody remember the "Porshe and private Cars concert" giveaway contest? I registered myself, my dog, my friends, each of my 400 guppies... didn't win squat. If I remember right, some rich lawyer won the contest.

  • i need to get this album on an LP, and im only 17

  • FUCK YEAH HEADPHONES

  • Hi Brad...............

  • groovylicious.

  • forgot what i was mad about ........

  • Ah yes Rock 'n Roll, the way it is //supposed// to sound before Candy Ass 1990s.

  • This song with headphones is exotic.

  • the cars - like butter!

  • What a great band! RIP Ben!!!

  • @chevycrewZ71 did benjamin orr pass?

  • THE CARS are a magnificent band.

Speaking for myself and for my peers, growing up with this kind of upbeat & hopefilled music in our ears….

Let’s just say, we had higher expectations.

This is probably why this false picture of optimism was presented to us in the first instance.

Sheep people [suckers] to the slaughter.

  • freakin great song to make love to

  • All Mixed Up , has to be one of their best songs.

  • the CARS , not just an 80s band

  • Its so easy to blow up your problems, its so easy to play up your breakdown , it's so easy to fly through a window, it's so easy to fool with the sound. Classic Benjamin Orr , how can you go wrong?

  • Dang, this number was such a HEAVY cruise # back in the day

  • love o cars..megga double thumps....cruising VAN NUYS BLVD wens nights so long.........427 c0bra under the hood..sleeper

  • In this World it's so Easy to Blow up your Problems.

  • Timeless! Ageless!

  • First heard this while on the original Sony walkman in 1979. The sirens crossed over from left to right and back again. Unforgettable experience. In my opinion, none of their other albums were nearly as good as this masterpiece.

  • @ecojot Candyo was a great album , song after song , every one of them were great. I can say the same for the Panorama album from 1980

  • no, two words...red bikini.

  • One of the GREATEST debut albums of all time!

  • @probrojeffro I agree, probably All Mixed Up should have been a bigger hit too , along with other songs by them.

  • This one's a bit different. more of an orchestrated, complex composed nature going through subtle complex changes in instrumentation and form. Simple genius.

  • just to be 14 for a day again.!!!!

  • fuck fast times. these songs are great by themselves

  • 21 people have terrible taste in music. Also, Phoebe Cates is a goddess. Pool scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High ftw!

  • Comment removed

  • The cover model is Natalya Medvedeva, a Russian-born model, journalist, and musician who died in 2003.

  • These two songs just seem to go together, like cereal and milk!!!!!!

  • girl on the cover is hot.

  • Over half million views nothing beats real music........

  • its bad ass!

  • Nobody's going to mention Phoebe Cates coming out of the pool scene? Come on!

  • @probrojeffro Yeah. I was just listening to Howard 101 on Sirius and Mr. Skin(mrskin dot com) was talking about that scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

  • I saw the Cars three times and they were as tight as any band ever! This was a truly great, groundbreaking band. They've never gotten the respect they deserve!

  • @christoJihad2 Very true. I think they not only set the sound for the eighties, but also the look.

  • Awesome song.

  • as if car companies can't put cool steering wheels on cars no more,. whats up wit dat?

  • It should be against the law to not listen to these two songs in this exact order. On the best of they did not keep the order, like on the original album.

  • these 2 tunes go together like peanut butter and jelly!!! i love em both so dam much i still get shivers even today!!!

  • I was in 8th grade and when I herd this band for the first time. I new at that time they were going to be Huge and all my friends laughed at me. They thought I was crazy. Well, was I right... You bet I was.

  • Great song, great album, not a Cars fan at all but I've gotta respect what they did here, probably one of the best albums of the latter half of the 70s, these two songs together are truly a masterpiece in my opinion.

  • Cared for Ric Ocaseck's parents in San Diego 2002-2003, took them to Vegas, then Theodore ; Ric's dad (original interenet founder in the Air Force ) had a blast, almost made it to Price is Right Anniversary show, but missed it......Theodore would have been happy....

  • album covers were fun before cds.

  • @rememberthe600 Which is why i still buy vinyl :)

  • @rememberthe600

Especially the ones with big ass rolling papers in them!!

  • last three songs on b-side are absolutely amazing. I was 18 when this came out.

Still think it's the wierdets bestest music they produced. Aband has usually got a lot of song kicking around for their firts few albums.. Bye Bye Love, Moving in S tereo, All Mixed up i can play forever. really simple but lots of sounds and not just studio effects.

Saw them live they were great.

  • ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED ROCK BANDS OF ALL TIME!

  • Hi Meg, you know how cute I think you are

  • this album is like a greatest hits album, and it was their debut, I can't think of a single band that came out of the gate stronger

  • @jhoch5 well said, I agree. I remember as a young teenager listening to this LP on my buddy's kick ass stereo with big cerwin vega speakers, smokin mexican redhair and beginning to dream of the fun we would have and the crazy shit we would do...we were right!

  • @jhoch5 Van Halen is a strong candidate for that title.

  • @jhoch5

Cars friend, like I, you truly love the Cars.

This album was NOT their debut though, you better check out Candy-O with their own Vargas Girls on the hood of a car, possibly a 1967 jaguar.

This was their debut that drove them to the top of the charts.

If you're missing this album then you're missing a fine set of tunes!

Take time to hunt it down and tune in!

  • @jhoch5

I guess I must correct myself as I just looked it up and I was wrong--you were right.

Guess I better do my home work first next time.

    Sorry about that!

  • all i want is ric wife

  • This was my youth. There is new stuff that compares (Awolnation comes to mind), but late '70's Cars has never been surpassed for pure ear love.

  • Canary Islands, Playa del Ingles.....Winter, Spring, l979-1983....

Rainy day in the northeast..this was.the best time of my life!

  • How could any buddy have a dislike for this song? MASTERFULL

  • BEST SONG EVER!

  • The Cars came along at a time when rock was coming out of Disco and in to New Wave but we weren't sure where it was all going. But they were SO unique and completely different that they owned that new sound. This album really is quite a road map to an era and it takes me right back

  • Fast Times, man...

  • Yummy Phoebe Cates

  • Send me back !

  • Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were.

  • i totally wish my car had a clear steering wheel like hers

  • sometimes you learn more then you want too, I just saw that this woman died in 2003. How depressing. Its on the Wikipedia site for this album

  • hi brad you know how cute i always thought you were

  • Hadda do that again. :)

  • Just listen with headphones on!!! awesome

  • @Mstitamou:Doing that right now.

  • Timeless, I never get tired of this. It is so easy to move with the sound! we miss you Ben.

  • Have any of you been to a Cars concert in the 70's ? It'd blow your mind,sex-drugs

    and rock and roll

  • @MegaDog500 no, but i bet it woulda been awesome!!! my parents loved the classic rock scene and i remember this album growing up. I remember looking at the girls lips on the album cover as a kid and being infatuated with her mouth when i was about 4 or 5. lol

  • this one and def leppards let it rock crusing into switch 625 but they wont play them that way anymore

  • I don't understand it, but I swear this gets better every time I listen to it!

  • The Cars have alway been a great band one of my 1 st Albums I bought was CARS 1979 I still have that album - Ben Orr will be missed but i am glad the band is still making music

  • There s noone in music today who comes close to Ben Orr.

  • its so easy to blow up your problems, its so easy to play up your break down its so easy to fly through a window its so easy to fool with the sound.

  • awesome group!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome job on The Cobert Report!!!!!

  • Why don't people upload the songs the way it is on the album?

  • I really miss Benjiman Orr, He was the Cars & an awesome Bass player. Also loved all of those keyboards by Greg Hawkes. This is my all time favorite Cars Jam.

  • yup! thats the one!! jam it!

  • this is a classic,r.i.p ben!

  • It's not the Cars without Benjamin Orr. :(

  • @Deuterium2H You said it! Benjamin Orr could sing to me every night until the end of time...

  • what the heck is up with rick not wanting to tour with the band

  • @TheGto389

they were on The Cobert Report last night.

  • <3<3<3<3 the Cars!!

  • All Mixed up is a great song by Ben Orr!

  • i like bass in this song

  • It is what it is! Outstanding group for the time.

  • high school ... .

  • shame there has never been a cover of this song, the cars should have so many people covering their songs that we should be sick of them, but alas it is not so.....

  • @bklogan85 not to take anything away from the original artists, i just cant see how musicians listen to this and not say "I gotta cover this song!!"

  • @bklogan85 Maybe other bands don't cover this or other Cars gems, because they know they can't improve on perfection. Their effort will always suffer by comparison. It's best to do covers of great songs weakly done originally.

  • The best, before all that other crap . . .

  • God I fucking love this song.

  • The good old days of music and better people....

  • Reminds me of rollerskating on friday and saturday nites!

  • This song is priceless! I wish the bands of today had half the talent!

  • @bigdmarine did you know the cars just came out with a new album?

  • I'm 46------------CLASSIC!

  • "No shirt, no shoes, NOOO DIIIIIIICE!"

  • 17 people are moving in mono.

  • 1517 people say "Itll be alright" Thx for posting.....goose bumps and remembering

  • mzbeautimani:

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High". This sing is in the fantasy scene with Phoebe Cates. "Doesn't anybody knock anymore!"

  • I've always thought it's a great transition from moving in stereo to all mixed up, seemless really.

  • got that right can't think of the ending of one without thinking about the begining of the next

  • i heard this in a movie bt it sounded different in the movie

  • Pheobe baby....PLEASE!!!!....

  • One of the best songs, EVER!

  • Comment removed

  • Damn! I had every one of the Cars albums on casette way back. I WISH I had kept them all. "All Mixed Up" is probably my favorite song from when I was younger. Still great today when compared to most of the junk out now.

  • I rekall this song on our way to the beach in a lincon cont. convertible and very loud, what a memorie and no worries, now bunch of bills to pay and not enogh money.

  • Yes this surely is a memory packed album. All Mixed Up great song.

  • @Deuterium2H

Thank you for saying exactly what I think to be true.

People automatically think of Moving in Stereo as epic, but All Mixed Up is more so, because of the lyrics, and the emotions behind them.

All Mixed Up, is, and has been my all time favourite song since 1978, when it was first released.

  • so i went out on a date with this 20yr old chick and had this playing in my car she goes why you listen to devil music i laugh at at here face and that was the last time i ever went out with her.

  • @aldokush Rad story bro.

  • i remember this from fast times at ridgmont high with the lovely phoebe cates!

  • As great as "Moving in Stereo" is...let's be honest, "All Mixed Up" is of EPIC proportions, and is, hands down, by favorite Cars song. God Rest Ye, Mr. Benjamin Orr.

  • The two best songs on one of the greatest albums ever. It still sounds as fresh, new, and exciting as when it first came out. Viva The Cars.

  • Great song, the vocal harmonies of "All Mixed Up" reminds me of ELO

  • The first time I heard this song was on the movie 'Fast times at ridgemont high.' Phoebe Cates dives into the pool, comes out of the pool, starts walking and taking her bra off---oh the memories.

  • i remember listening to these two songs as a kid, driving with my dad home after a basketball game, the full moon shining. i picked up the case cover (tape) and briefly glanced it over, the moon light hitting the cover girl when "all mixed up" came on. in my mind, i pictured the cover girl with her leather jacket, red tshirt and big puffy hair walking down the street with people in the moonlight. i took the tape and still have it but i have upgraded to CD ofcourse then itunes :)

  • this song brings back so many memories,of driving around with friends, when we were 16yars old.Its a great song.I still love it.

  • COCO DIAZ

  • @mogley71 Coco Diaz????

  • CHICKEN TITS

  • i miss the 80's and i was born in the 90's

  • @ohyesididagain this song is from mid 1978 brother, no pun intended lol, keep moving in stereo to the CARS

  • I david

  • Benjamin Orr says its all mixed up!!!

  • 16 people are All Mixed Up

  • that is s so gsy

  • Fiby Gates and this song go well together! This song and the Cars are the shit!!

  • I had my personally customized stereo acoustic hippie street van back in the late 70's and the CARS ruled the FM airwaves. Good times road trips.
