    COOL!!

  • well this is incredible. I enjoy watching the younger videos of Kissin for some reason. His afro is less annoying

  • Потрясающе!!!Беспадобный талант!!! Уникальный....

  • Absolutely stunning. The best pianist that has ever lived, surely!?

  • 15 ?

TABARNAK!! He's just made for it!

  • Beautiful playing!

  • The correct spell is "leggerezza" , but great intepretation!:D

  • @Flutist007654 Maybe in modern Italian, but all scores/recordings I've seen have it spelt as "Leggierezza".

  • @suremate But (from an Italian) it can spell it leggerezza as leggierezza...

    They have the same meaning.

  • @suremate Wrote Leggierezza. In the original Liszt score there is "leggierezza". In Italian, in 19th cent, was correct both forms, ma both was spelt "leggerezza" in the same way

  • @mtamburini thank you for clarifying that :)

  • @suremate I'm an Italian pianist (this is my guarantee ahah) and it's right what you say.

  • @Flutist007654 yeah, Leppierezza = Pizza

    yay

  • Talk about your prodigies.

  • @lovelynabee Hmm. May I suggest you to translate what you are saying in English. It's sad only I could read this because I am Korean :(

  • Wang has nothing on this

  • @CziffraTheThird wang stands in the same firmament as the likes of kissin, pollini and horowitz....

  • Really passionate but the title is "La Leggierezza". I don't agree with his interpretation

  • He was only fifteen... I could practise this piece for fifteen years and still he'd be infinitely better than me. :(

  • did he improve over the years at all?

  • Moiseiwitsch remains supreme in this music; I think Kissin's tempo is too slow, although he plays it well enough.

  • check your youtube mailbox

  • you would think this guy would get mad putang fir this...the question is does/did he?

  • So...Romantic...

  • Beautiful. Thanks for posting.

  • what year was this?

  • '87 if I'm not mistaken.

  • @suremate Yes thats corect

  • This is very well played. Whether it be evgeny kissin or yuja wang or lang-lang, they are all talented. Each interpretation is unique to the player. The interpretations are accurate. This performance is brilliant and is worthy of recognition. Amazing performance! Kudos for all artists that reach this musical ability and potential.

  • There are always peolple who need to compare someone to an other, but we don't care...or people who are convinced to be more sensitive than the others, we don't care too...! Please listen to the musician, and go away if you don't like! As to me, I love Kissin in this piece very much!

  • yuja wang played this when she was only 10 years old!!!

  • oh won't she play it anymore, when she grows older?

what's it all about? i guess, you miss the beauty of music and are lost in some ideas and concepts about proficiency, accomplishment just give a try to listen without comparing.

  • i love Kissin.he feels the each note he plays... but most of all i like lang-lang1!1!!

  • ...sei perfetto Eugeny....bravissimo....

  • Simply wonderful. I feel such warmth from this man's playing.

  • fantasticooo grandee unico e soloo

  • Theres just one explanation.......Kissin was born ONLY to play the piano

  • doesn't he have a family, waif.... is he alone with his instrument? :'(

  • expression and feeling are absent? I disagree with all my heart, my friend

  • It's ok,I respect every opinion:-)

  • I totally agree with you - there is nothing BUT expression and feeling. The reason for that is Evgeny doesn't 'do' anything to the music - he just plays it as it is written.

  • I disagree, this kind of feeling can only come from putting immense amount of feeling into what you're playing. It's very pure in emotion.

  • Do you honestly believe that the music lacks expression and 'feeling' WITHOUT someone performing it?

  • that's not what i meant. obviously the composer is expressing themselves or an idea through their music, but it's designed to be performed. so when someone puts something into it, their own feelings, own sense of expression, their interpretation of the piece, it brings the piece to life.

  • I totally disagree. The music is very much alive BEFORE anyone plays it. Give the composer some credit, for goodness sake. Yes, the performance 'makes the piece happen' but it does NOT create it.

  • again, not what i meant. it's common knowledge among performers that YOU have to bring the piece to life, it needs to come from within you - and i am NOT saying that there is no expression or life in the piece itself, but again, pieces are designed to be performed, so that is how they come alive. look at all the horrible performances of some incredible pieces, it's the performer messing up. when you get the right performer, great pieces become even greater.

  • Thank you so much for the lecture. You are entitled to your opinion - as baseless as it is.

  • well i felt like you misinterpreted what i said, i just wanted to explain myself. how is my opinion baseless? :S

  • The expression is IN the music from the moment of its conception. How a performer does or does not recognize that makes all the difference. Maestro Kissin is doing absolutely nothing other than playing what is on the page. If you believe that rubato and other nuances are Kissin's, you are mistaken. Kissin simply has the great intellect AND fabulous technique to make the piece sound as it did in the ear of the master who created it.

  • @organman52 I'm not so sure about Kissin's intelect but generally Kissin feels and plays Liszt well and I suppose, that this was outstanding interpretation. Well done.

  • I AM sure about it.

  • please don't insult me by misinterpreting my words to be discrediting composers.

  • that's just his trait.

the main point is his PLAYING is very good !!

  • Awesome!

  • WOW!

  • already among great interpretations

  • while the world knows that kissin is a brilliant pianist, i still want to point out that his then-touch plyaing this piece is a bit inadequate. it has to be lighter , float like cloud as the title of the piece suggests instead of pressing down hard. Argerich's or Beno Moisewitsch has proper touch for this piece.

  • he plays lightly in many places

  • Bravo!!!!!!

  • why only 4 stars?

  • Comment removed

  • The clarity of his playing is quite amazing for a 15 year old...

(Gioconda de Vito, Berl Senofsky, Vlado Perlemuter,

    Carl Schuricht, Gina Bachauer etc)

  • what does the title of this piece mean?

  • without I, lightness

  • This guy didn't spend hours infront of youtube watching videos of other pianists...hours in front of the piano.

  • yes and with the right teacher, situation, enviournment, plus his high intellectual

  • the fingering for right hand from 2:42 to 2:59(double chromatic)???

  • i think most of it is

  • kissin is exceptional!!!!

  • Among the very best.

  • Outstanding performance and musicality for an 8 year old. Bravo! Kissin is truly a wonder. One audible mistake that I could tell.

I prefer Yuja Wang's (I think spelled Yujia Wang on the Youtube search) wonderful prodigious recording of this piece which sounds more romantic and pleasing... but she was 11 when it was recorded.

  • You think that Kissin was 8 years old, here?

No. I believe he was 15. And even if he was an amazing genius child, I also prefer Yuja Wang's Leggierezza. And yes, she was 11 years old on that video.

  • They're both great and age in my opinion has nothing to do with how good they play it.

For me and that's my own personal opinion, I like Kissin's interpretation more. He has catpured this slightly mysterious melancholic and dreamy feeling of the piece better. But that's just me

  • I find Kissin's version dreamy and mysterious, but I prefer Yuja Wang's sensuous interpretation. But both are great!

  • Sublime, just sublime

  • !!!
