I see the comments are all two year old, well, here we go again in 2010 amid a tide of midterm Repubilcan victories. All talk of taxing derivates, capital gains to disuade speculation and profit taking, increasing the down payment for oil contracts from 5% to 50% and arming regulators with weapons necessary to put an immediate end to speculation, have ENDED. The Democrats had 2 years to act and FAILED. Prison is too light a punishment. Hanging would suffice.
One other fact- several years back speculators said prices of a gallon of gas in europe was $1.50 and only $.50 here, BUT 2 things, the British pound was worth more than $1, and imperial gallon was more than our us gallon, pick apart the value of the dollar but not the gallon sizes and you get an imbalance, but to properly convert it the ACTUAL prices were very close... Today its the same BS... too much manipulating of facts... I call it out right LIES!!!!
OIL SPECULATION drove our nation to financial collapse and the crash of the stock market in '29, Franklin Roosevelt BANNED speculation and brought it under control makeing our nation the strongest in the world, and the richest, the OIL SPECULATORS TODAY HAVE KILLED PEOPLE BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY DO, this is nothing less than MURDER FOR CASH....
Just SPECULATING here- Gas at $1 per gallon if we start a bowling tournament on wall st & cut the heads off OIL SPECULATORS to use for bowling balls!
