  • There is no fixed tempo for a song and every artist has his/her own style. This melody was written by the unappreciated Oscar Levant in 1934, and Mr. Levant wrote it in the performance style popular at that time, which was not the slow, near adagio style it is usually played at today. I think the best performance of this work is by Nat King Cole. Check it out.
