im not gonna lie as a heat fan all my life he made the game fun to watch no matter what team he was on i mean my god he was so lazy and bad for the regular season and most games but that fouth quarter was always his lol 7 rings starter for 5 of them pretty good i rember his houston days...his glor y days and at alambama of course....man...i knew after houston we wouldnt see the last of him he was way to good my god his teams never win without him one way or another...he was always a factor WOW!
as a pistons fan ill never forget this game.. i remember rip after the game .... sitting depressed in the locker room with his hands over his face... and head down... almost in his lap after they lost. Screw Robert Horry
Horry one of the Greatest of all time. So many championships lived and died by his makes/misses. Would be a terrible fantasy pickup because he only shows up when you absolutely need him, in the playoffs. Big Shot Bob actually has his own Top 10 of Buzzer beaters he has so many in the playoffs for so many teams. Overrated? ROFL more like Underrated. 7 Rings 3 different teams 2+ with each one. Has more rings than Jordan and nobody has won 2 championships for 3 diff team or came close to it.
Big shot Bob should have had an MVP nod that year. He defiantly was a playmaker for the Spurs that year and he was electrifying to watch. I just hope Duncan wins one more championship but either way, he's still a HoF in my book.
@ilackedtheheart in your book? Huh? Dude locked up the hof years ago he does't need another ring 4 rings is huge considering that's the most any small market franchise has. Horry didn't deserve MVP over Duncan- they would never have been in a position to win at all wo Duncan- he ways playing two two sprained ankles that series but doesn't whine about it like other stars would have. The guy had no superstar help unlike these shameless players who run around trying to tag team their way to a ring.
The Pistons were one of the best teams for a long time, 2003-2008 they were definitely the best team in the Eastern Conference, and although they really hammered the Lakers in the 2004 Finals, they also choked way too many playoff games, this one included. I know it was close game throughout, but Wallace, as good as he was and as much experience as he had, he made a horrible decision of not covering Horry, not to mention doing the same with Portland in 99 and 00.
@AllEyesOnMe08 yes the Lakers did beat a couple of teams I liked...it had little to do with Robert Horry as he had very little inside game or zero ability to create his own shot. I'll grant him that he had a knack for hitting big shots, typically while wide open (as well as hip checking point guards) That "Big Shot Rob" bullshit wouldn't exist had he not spent his entire career on teams who were loaded. He's "Bloody Fortunate" Rob as far as I'm concerned...and highly overrated.
@RobertBalto He isn't overrated. The reason he has 7 rings is because he is a great role player, and a great clutch performer. The reason why he's "lucky" is because the good teams know he's very valuable to a team and they sign him.
@MrVryant OH NO DOUBT! HELL YEAH you are right he got them all a ring! They got him one too or so, but he had that game where he won a pivotal game which won the title cot damn basically.
First, this series was one of the best of all-time, all 7 games were played very tight. Defense versus Defense. And Robert Horry, one of the best complimentary players of all-time and he is a Cold-BLooded assassin.
@btmonster oh yeah the first four games were horrible! The last three (This game really) made this series epic IMO, not a finals since has been near it.
WHO LEAVES ROBERT HORRY OPEN!?!?!? I just remember my cousins and uncles almost leaning back on the couch going "UH OH!" and exploding...we didn't even have a dog in that fight, but it was Horry Time again. He was just cash money in the clutch.
I like how stupid ring jokers always include Horry in their idiotic goat arguments, hinting that he does not deserve his championships? He comes through in the biggest moments, without his shots none of the teams hes been on would have won it all!
This 3-PT by Robert Horry just broke the hearts of the then-defending champion Detroit Pistons. Because the Pistons won Game 6 and that could've been their 2nd back-to-back championships in franchise history, the Spurs take advantage of Game 7 and won their second of the four championships. The Pistons were never able to get back to the Finals again after this series (because of the paybacks set by Miami in '06, Cleveland in '07, and the unexpected loss to Boston in '08).
this guy is the luckiest nba player to ever play the game, he's won 7 rings with 3 different teams, and it's not like he was actually working for it, he was just playing with good teams
That's got to be in the pantheon of all-time dumbest YouTube comments ever. In EVERY championship run he was in, Horry hit at LEAST one big shot to alter the course of the playoff/Finals for his team. 1994--the twisting dunk to finish off Utah, 1995--the jumper to beat the Spurs in Game 1 of the WCSF/the three to beat Orlando in Gm 3 of the Finals, 2000--the two threes to help LA comeback and beat Portland in Game 7, 2001--the huge three to put Philly to bed in Gm 3 w/o Shaq..
2002--the three to finish off Portland in the 1st round (gm 3), the three to finish off San Antonio in Game 5 of the WCSF, and of COURSE, the three to basically avoid losing in five games to the Kings in the WCF (Game 4). This entire game resurrected the Spurs...he kept them afloat the entire game when Detroit threatened to pull away. Hell, even in 2007, his cross check on Nash resulted in Stoudamire and Diaw's suspensions, which helped SA win in Phoenix in Gm 5. Try again.
I will go the rest of my life wondering why Rasheed left one of the most clutch shooters of all time open in order to double ginobili. There really is no plausable explanation
Na'ah...the first four games were blowouts. Really, the only compelling game of the series was this one. The 2010 Lakers/Celtics series was better than this.
robert horry cut himself once and the blood froze everything it touched. for real horry got ice in his veins, he dont do shit all season then he comes in and hits the most important shots...
Rob, I love you to pieces, man, but why, my brother, why couldn't you have used up one of these 3s when you had game 5 against the Spurs in '03 in your hands? If Horry hits that, LA goes up 3-2 and wins game 6 in LA, then beats Dallas and NJersey and gets a four-peat.
sheed is an idiot for leaving Horry to go double-team ginobili in the corner. Doesn't he realize that the most dangerous guy on an inbounds play is the inbounder? Especially if that inbounder happens to be a red-hot ROBERT HORRY.
Parker, ok, touch, pure speed, that’s it, (Tim wanted Kidd) But Manu is better than Allen, better than Rondo. With the exception of pure speed, Manu is quick off the ball and has a complete game. Pierce better than Manu, ok, a bit. But which Pierce. Spurs could always count on Manu. Don't forget Bowen, the Allen stopper. Sure KG has a middle game, but not much, and head to head Timmy always got the best of him. The real big 3: DUNCAN, MANU, BOWEN (Parker, Horry support). 05' Spurs over Celtics.
@thegoonieistight Duncan, Parker nd Ginobili are nothing like KG, Ray nd Pierce....Ginobili nd Parker don't even have 5 all-stars combined...but they won with great team play and deffense
@lilzack24 yes they do. parker was one of the best point guards in the league at the time. duncan is going down as one of the best big man in history. ginobili is just pure good. i would say spurs big 3 was better overall than celtics big 3 since the spurs were young together. 3 championship nuff said.
@ballin7077 Parker was never a top 5 point guard at any point of his career...nd Ginobiliy actually used to come off da bench alot...Yea Duncan is Duncan...But KG is also KG...Pierce is better than Ginibily and Ray Allen is better than Parker and im not even counting Rondo....btw imma Laker fan so i hate both teams lol
@BlacKxShinigami yea i like Kobe taking a game winning shot in the Reg. season but in the past 2 post seasons he's missed all his game winners or tying shots. horry is spotless right next to MJ in the post season
@BlacKxShinigami That's not saying anything really new or groudn breaking. I would take robert horry to take final shot over kobe, wade, dirk, billups. basically anyone short of Michael Jordan...
@BlacKxShinigami So?Lebron has nothing to do with this vid. Who cares if he was playing in the finals? If that's your reason, why didnt you say D Wade, Dirk, Bosh etc?Sorry to lash out at you but I had seeing Lebron being on every nba related video for no reason
i bet there was a "if you look closely lebron traveled" comment somewhere here too
@teeejayykay He did have something do to with it at the time. I was watching some of my favorite playoff moments because the NBA Finals made me feel like it and since he was in the finals I mentioned him. Btw this was at the beginning of the finals when everyone was saying how clutch LeBron was, so at the time it wasn't a popular opinion I was just saying what I thought when I watched the vid...
@BlacKxShinigami people were saying how clutch lebron was?Where do you live?I'm not trying to get personal but when the finals started all I heard was "can lebron do it" or "can lebron get over his shortcomings and step up" not the media give him props
@teeejayykay I live in Cleveland so I haven't heard anything nice about LeBron in a year and a half. (I dont hate him btw) Yes they were saying he was clutch on Espn and other Sports shows because he had good fourth quarters in his last 2 series (Bulls and Celtics) and they said he would carry it over...
@DahCakeMann No one won a championship with 3 all stars.... It was 2 all stars and a choke artist. ;):) And they FUCKIN SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
@DahCakeMann what about the 2011 NBA Champion Mavs? Dirk was their only star. You can't really count J-Kidd cause of his age and Jason Terry and Tyson Chandler were never allstars. Also, Caron Butler, their starting SF, was injured the entire series and Shawn Marion hasn't been an allstar caliber player for years. Besides, the Spurs had three allstars on their team, Tony, Tim, and Manu. But yeah I see your point: The Miami Heat.
Lol Parker and Ginobili werent all-stars until 2006/2007, which would be their 3rd (but Duncan and Spurs 4th) title.
J Kidd is very much still a above average PG. JET was a beast and played like it, and Matrix played like his old self.
But please dont say Mavs did something more impressivw than Spurs what a joke, Mavs spent 93 million dollars on their roster this year - Spurs dont even spend 65 million, and the Spurs have 4 championships not just 1 like LittleD
@madhazzer Ginobli's first allstar appearance was actually the same year they won in 2005. Plus Spurs just got lucky (or really smart drafters) and hooked three very loyal stars. The Spurs really had 3 main stars, if you don't include Bruce bowen (dirty) or Robert Horry (dirty). The Mavs on the other hand really only had 1 star and a really deep bench.

@Gamer36asif the main reason for me posting the first comment about Dallas winning is not to say they did something more impressive than the Spurs. They just won the championship in a different way than the Spurs did. (The Mavs relied on a deeper bench rather than an all-star starting lineup.) The main reason for the comment was to show how odd it is that the top comment about how this was the best time in basketball, not about getting 3 all-stars to win. The spurs actually did have 3 all-stars.
Probably the most clutch player I have seen

This 3-PT by Robert Horry just broke the hearts of the then-defending champion Detroit Pistons. Because the Pistons won Game 6 and that could've been their 2nd back-to-back championships in franchise history, the Spurs take advantage of Game 7 and won their second of the four championships. The Pistons were never able to get back to the Finals again after this series (because of the paybacks set by Miami in '06, Cleveland in '07, and the unexpected loss to Boston in '08).

MONSTER DUNK
josephcee210 7 months ago
Parker, ok, touch, pure speed, that’s it, (Tim wanted Kidd) But Manu is better than Allen, better than Rondo. With the exception of pure speed, Manu is quick off the ball and has a complete game. Pierce better than Manu, ok, a bit. But which Pierce. Spurs could always count on Manu. Don't forget Bowen, the Allen stopper. Sure KG has a middle game, but not much, and head to head Timmy always got the best of him. The real big 3: DUNCAN, MANU, BOWEN (Parker, Horry support). 05' Spurs over Celtics.

are u people retarded?parker, ginobili, duncan was the big 3 before bostons got kg and allen.3 all stars on the same team.2 Hall of famers
thegoonieistight 7 months ago
@thegoonieistight Duncan, Parker nd Ginobili are nothing like KG, Ray nd Pierce....Ginobili nd Parker don't even have 5 all-stars combined...but they won with great team play and deffense
lilzack24 7 months ago
@lilzack24 yes they do. parker was one of the best point guards in the league at the time. duncan is going down as one of the best big man in history. ginobili is just pure good. i would say spurs big 3 was better overall than celtics big 3 since the spurs were young together. 3 championship nuff said.
ballin7077 7 months ago
@ballin7077 Parker was never a top 5 point guard at any point of his career...nd Ginobiliy actually used to come off da bench alot...Yea Duncan is Duncan...But KG is also KG...Pierce is better than Ginibily and Ray Allen is better than Parker and im not even counting Rondo....btw imma Laker fan so i hate both teams lol
lilzack24 7 months ago
@lilzack24 Parker was a top 5 PG a few years in this game bro! Seriously he was.

@BlacKxShinigami i would rather have Big shot rob take the shot over anybody in this league today he's hit 23 game winning shots
samtech800 7 months ago
@samtech800 I would rather kobe take the shot than Horry there both great at it though...
BlacKxShinigami 7 months ago
@BlacKxShinigami yea i like Kobe taking a game winning shot in the Reg. season but in the past 2 post seasons he's missed all his game winners or tying shots. horry is spotless right next to MJ in the post season
samtech800 7 months ago
@BlacKxShinigami That's not saying anything really new or groudn breaking. I would take robert horry to take final shot over kobe, wade, dirk, billups. basically anyone short of Michael Jordan...

@BlacKxShinigami explain to me what Lebron has to do with anyone, or anything in this video?
teeejayykay 5 months ago
@teeejayykay look when I wrote that dumb ass, he was playing in the finals at the time...
BlacKxShinigami 5 months ago
@BlacKxShinigami So?Lebron has nothing to do with this vid. Who cares if he was playing in the finals? If that's your reason, why didnt you say D Wade, Dirk, Bosh etc?Sorry to lash out at you but I had seeing Lebron being on every nba related video for no reason
i bet there was a "if you look closely lebron traveled" comment somewhere here too
teeejayykay 5 months ago
@teeejayykay He did have something do to with it at the time. I was watching some of my favorite playoff moments because the NBA Finals made me feel like it and since he was in the finals I mentioned him. Btw this was at the beginning of the finals when everyone was saying how clutch LeBron was, so at the time it wasn't a popular opinion I was just saying what I thought when I watched the vid...
BlacKxShinigami 5 months ago
@BlacKxShinigami people were saying how clutch lebron was?Where do you live?I'm not trying to get personal but when the finals started all I heard was "can lebron do it" or "can lebron get over his shortcomings and step up" not the media give him props
btw I do agree with your statement
teeejayykay 5 months ago
@teeejayykay I live in Cleveland so I haven't heard anything nice about LeBron in a year and a half. (I dont hate him btw) Yes they were saying he was clutch on Espn and other Sports shows because he had good fourth quarters in his last 2 series (Bulls and Celtics) and they said he would carry it over...
BlacKxShinigami 5 months ago
@BlacKxShinigami ah, I dont watch ESPN much if at all so i wouldnt know that. thanks

The best part is all the Pistons fans screaming NOOOOOO before he even takes the shot when he comes open on the final inbound pass

@gabejohnson88
no actualy i like the spurs couse they play team ball but i am talking about the whole league not only the winers
lbj6mj23 6 months ago
@DahCakeMann what about the 2011 NBA Champion Mavs? Dirk was their only star. You can't really count J-Kidd cause of his age and Jason Terry and Tyson Chandler were never allstars. Also, Caron Butler, their starting SF, was injured the entire series and Shawn Marion hasn't been an allstar caliber player for years. Besides, the Spurs had three allstars on their team, Tony, Tim, and Manu. But yeah I see your point: The Miami Heat.
Gamer36asif 6 months ago
@Gamer36asif boston celtics as well
wwfchriswwf 6 months ago
@Gamer36asif
Lol Parker and Ginobili werent all-stars until 2006/2007, which would be their 3rd (but Duncan and Spurs 4th) title.
J Kidd is very much still a above average PG. JET was a beast and played like it, and Matrix played like his old self.
But please dont say Mavs did something more impressivw than Spurs what a joke, Mavs spent 93 million dollars on their roster this year - Spurs dont even spend 65 million, and the Spurs have 4 championships not just 1 like LittleD
madhazzer 5 months ago
