Just because a series is in one Alpha game does not mean it is in every Alpha game. Gunbuster is only in Alpha 1 and 3, but not Gaiden and 2.

This game has some of the prettiest sprites ever. It's a shame that Gundam X and Turn A aren't in any newer ones, along with the LoE robots. Also, did anyone notice that the game rewards you with more obscure-ass robots at higher difficulties, like The O over Sazabi? It panders to the hardcore.

because I only had SRW alpha Gaiden....but not the first one...

All of the Alpha games are connected, otherwise they would have used a name besides Alpha.

story-wise, not necessarily connected though. They don't really mention about what happened in Gaiden in later Alpha games. However, the mech and the animation are recycled between alpha games

Sanger specifically and his connection to the Ancestors come up in Sanger's Alpha 2 route and I believe Alpha 3 as well. I'm not sure if there were other references but they don't ignore it completely.

well, the zengar in Alpha 2 has nothing to do with the one in gaiden because that future never happen. But its true that they keep the same personality/setting of one to the other.

However, what I mean is that alpha gaiden is really just a side story and they dont even mention about it that much in future alpha game like "Hey, remember the time we traveled to the future and fight with Shu after that".

Its just similar to the SRW gaiden in the SFC system. The events did happend but never considered into the main storyline

I know it's not the same Sanger. What I meant was that other returning characters from Alpha Gaiden immediately recognized him. And they were recognizing him only because of their trip to the future. They even made a big deal of not bringing it up early on because he was supposed to find a new future for himself.

In Alpha 2 and Alpha 3 depending on route they mention how Zengar is "that guy".

There are other refences too, like in Alpha 2 how when you fight MachineLand they talk about how they already beat machineland in the alternate future.
