there's nothing wrong with the saw, per se, but that guy is an idiot. one slip and maimed or dead. every moron has his "eye bin duein this fer 37 yrs w/o uh prahblum". Hello, no doubt that can be dangerous, but its just how things were done. We had an old saw similar, fed off of a 4 hp make and break engine for cutting up slabs from the mill. Now we use chainsaws, but those are dangerous as well. its how you cut your firewood one time, dont mind the neg comments. Im sure most have better things to do then searching up peoples videos to make neg comments. Nice video.

The reason this guy has to work so hard to feed the wood into the blade relates to

the rake angle of the teeth (often called hook). If the tooth rake is around 10 to 20 degrees positive (my best guess for a cross-cut blade like this), wood being cut near the table surface would experience a self feeding effect, however wood 12" above the table would experience a

negative rake angle and would actually be pushing against the wood making it harder to feed.
