this has nothing to do with the vid. but are the neca avpr aliens durable? because I bought a neca "aliens" alien and the joints were glued stiff and when i tried to move the arm it snapped off ,kinda annoying considering its advertised as fully articulate, so I might get a couple avpr aliens if their any better.
in the near future, if u end up with a figure with stuff joints, put it in the freezer for about 5 minutes. then try moving the joints. It sounds stupid, but it works and helped me avoid breaking figures.

no, not really. the diorama is pretty small, but if ur looking for posablitly, theres not much cuz the alien's tail is attached 2 the predator, and it can brake VERY easily, as mine did. otherwise the tail is posable and u'll notice the alien's tail is VERY long. as long as the 8' alien tails. but it makes the piece work. chopper's arms and feet can turn, but not much else. the alien is only articulated at the waist and can move up and down. but no not much posablity here cuz its a diaroma.
at least your Elder came with a base LMAO I opened mine and it just came with the figure...much like I opened my wolf and found a handle-less whip...my luck...

I had scare back when he came out. For the most part I liked him. Articulation was decent, sculpt was ok, but like others have stressed, his frailness was his demise. IF anything, now that I fully think about it, the first AVP figures only got my attention cause of their POA.
Oh ya, one more thing...did you notice that the Predator models here are actually skinnier than the ones in the movie? They actually LOOK like Predators unlike the monstrosities in the film.
well that was due to the fact that Ian could not be on set all the time they needed him so they had to make a pred costume for someone else during the Celtic vs Grid fight
ever notice in the Celtic vs Grid fight, there like close to the same hight, Tom is 6'2, the actor who palyed Celtic in the fight was maybe around the same when Ian is like 7ft
they use Ian threw the whole movie of AVPR and he was bigger then the aliens casue the actor is taller

Well, at first I wasn't aware of the fact that McFarlane's Predator action figures are too frail until I've read many reviews and yours on it.
Thanks for uploading the video, anyway. And it would be best not to sell them away because they are still a very good collector's item, in my opinion.
Action figures like these are hard to come by nowadays, if you ask me. Back then, there were a myriad of McFarlane Predator action figures on sale after the release of Paul Anderson's Alien vs. Predator (which is controversial among many Alien and Predator fans, no kidding.). But now, even Movie Maniacs 6 are a rare find.
Besides that, the release of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem film also generated the hype for NECA's Wolf Predator action figures.
To be quite honest, I really like Anderson's AVP, and I like the Strauses AVP-R. Sure they both have stuff I dont like (Preds getting killed in under 5 minutes by the same alien, really weak charactors, Wolf doesnt get hurt nearly as much as he should've.) But they're not deviating from the comics all too much. (with the exception of the melting wristblades, but its easily explained and forgiven.)
I also didn't like the fact that the two teenage Predators (Chopper Predator is careless, Celtic Predator is cocky) getting killed by Grid Alien with a relevant ease.
I don't have any problem with Wolf Predator killing Aliens without getting itself badly injured or killed so easily (that is until the fight with the Predalien). As for the melting wristblades, it was supposed that all of Predator weapons are acid-resistant but oh well, that isn't a big problem.
All three of them were teenagers, although that probably would happen in real life, I was disappointed we didnt see Chopper in Action, and I had high hopes for Celtic.
Wolf should have been hurt more since he was slicing Aliens to bits while they were practically on top of him, they would have scratched and burned the shit out of him.
And the Wristblades NEVER melt in the comics or games.
Hell, like you, the fact that the Chopper Predator getting killed so easily due to it's carelessness is a very big letdown indeed. And on the other hand, it's also very sad to see that the Celtic Predator, due to it's cockiness got it's own head penetrated through by the Grid Alien's headbite.
As for Wolf Predator, it dons acid-resistant armor and equipment, so how can it be easily burned and scratched by Alien's acid blood?
And as for Wristblades, they aren't supposed to melt in comics and games, likewise for movies too. (The origin of the Alien vs. Predator series can be traced way back to the film "Predator 2" where Danny Glover discovered Alien skull trophies on the Predator's spaceship. The franchise itself, however, found it's way to comics and games)
Dude he's barely got enough armor to keep him from looking naked! If I were to class him from the system in AVP2 he'd b a light Pred. The armor he does have is so small, his chest plact only covers 1 pex. The thigh plates are small enough to use as code peices, and he doesnt even have armor on the back of his calf. The only thing armored is his back.
Then this is really strange or odd for a elite Predator to have a high resistance to acid blood despite the fact that it wears some parts of body armor like you've said.
And if I were to class Wolf Predator from the system in AVP2 game, it would be a standard Predator.
i can actully answer a little bit of this. At the end when Wolf comes onto the rooftop, he was meant to be fucked up, covered in blood and everything, but due to the rain it washed off again when Wolf stabbed the Predalien in the head, acid blood was meant to melt Wolf's hand off, but the acid washed away, after that wolf was meant to get his gauntlet thing and punches the Predalien's head off right when they explode from the bomb.
I loved Wolf, he makes me think of my hero Predator Slasher i made while making ab AVP2 fan script after AVP came out. In my story (which is copyrited btw) Slasher is Scar's old and much stronger brother, he's about as strong as Wolf
you can't really find it anywhere casue I'm talks with a friend on AVPgalaxy, who is in contact with John Davis. See my story won't fit anymore becasue of AVPR so I moved Slasher to a 4th movie, while my friend is actully talking to Jonh about AVP3.

Instead of doing direct sequals, I'm proposing doing an AVP movie that isn't a direct sequal to any of the alien and predator films, though it is hinted, but not confirmed.
And I'm in the process of making a independent film of the very script I wrote, no figures, all live action. I like to call it "AVP: Legend."
Reason why its called that is we're implying that the Alien in our film is the original, and the Predator is related to the original from '87.
Instead of talking about it, I'm going to just do it, and show my REAL directing skills and show everyone what I'm capable of. And hopfully get one of the producers from the original Alien movies to fund an avp film with me in the directors chair.
Jon Davis is cool, but AVP-R seemed to have deeply damaged most peoples idea on crossover movies. especially the 1's that don't read comics and play VG's. In which case, a clean slate might be what is needed, which includes everyone off camera.

Ian Whyte played them both. They used the same skin suits and armor, they just added the belly plate to scar. (Some of the shots u can see the bullet holes from when Celtic got shot.)

Mc Farlane's a bitch.
Every figure I bought from them broke in some way (and I dont abuse my stuff)
-The metal gear series, broke and loose
-Predator broke (partly my fault)
-The only ones that didnt break were there statues.
If you buy em, Be carefull when posing and know that there toys arnt for play.
+ they skipped out on alot of the extras like stands and details.

To be quite honest, you probably dont want to buy another just glue back on whatever broke, because ALL of the AVP figures are frail, Most of mine break whenm I do something simple, such as turn the left hand. I looked like that guy from Young Frankenstein when that happened.

yeah i was rippeed of too, i still have to remove the arm blades from my Scar. I bought 2 becasue the shoulder cannon arm broke off on my first (i also got it when AVP came out) and then i got a new one, it broke again but i was able to fix the old one with the new one and then his left had broke off...just like yours. Mcfarlend...I really wish he made Celtic, Scar and Chopper and all of em just like the movies, like what he did with Predator and Predator 2, and make the wrist blades retractible

I had scare back when he came out. For the most part I liked him. Articulation was decent, sculpt was ok, but like others have stressed, his frailness was his demise. IF anything, now that I fully think about it, the first AVP figures only got my attention cause of their POA.

well that was due to the fact that Ian could not be on set all the time they needed him so they had to make a pred costume for someone else during the Celtic vs Grid fight
ever notice in the Celtic vs Grid fight, there like close to the same hight, Tom is 6'2, the actor who palyed Celtic in the fight was maybe around the same when Ian is like 7ft
they use Ian threw the whole movie of AVPR and he was bigger then the aliens casue the actor is taller

When I opened up Scar a few weeks ago, I was disappointed for a couple of reasons.
1) The plasma caster arm snapped right off
2) The stand was useless
3) The spear doesn't fit in his hand
I superglued the spear in, but it actually fell out, and broke in half two days ago. And the legs are a bit loose too.
I still need to get my hands on Celtic and Stealth Celtic.

Well, at first I wasn't aware of the fact that McFarlane's Predator action figures are too frail until I've read many reviews and yours on it.
Thanks for uploading the video, anyway. And it would be best not to sell them away because they are still a very good collector's item, in my opinion.

Action figures like these are hard to come by nowadays, if you ask me. Back then, there were a myriad of McFarlane Predator action figures on sale after the release of Paul Anderson's Alien vs. Predator (which is controversial among many Alien and Predator fans, no kidding.). But now, even Movie Maniacs 6 are a rare find.
Besides that, the release of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem film also generated the hype for NECA's Wolf Predator action figures.

To be quite honest, I really like Anderson's AVP, and I like the Strauses AVP-R. Sure they both have stuff I dont like (Preds getting killed in under 5 minutes by the same alien, really weak charactors, Wolf doesnt get hurt nearly as much as he should've.) But they're not deviating from the comics all too much. (with the exception of the melting wristblades, but its easily explained and forgiven.)

I also didn't like the fact that the two teenage Predators (Chopper Predator is careless, Celtic Predator is cocky) getting killed by Grid Alien with a relevant ease.
I don't have any problem with Wolf Predator killing Aliens without getting itself badly injured or killed so easily (that is until the fight with the Predalien). As for the melting wristblades, it was supposed that all of Predator weapons are acid-resistant but oh well, that isn't a big problem.

All three of them were teenagers, although that probably would happen in real life, I was disappointed we didnt see Chopper in Action, and I had high hopes for Celtic.
Wolf should have been hurt more since he was slicing Aliens to bits while they were practically on top of him, they would have scratched and burned the shit out of him.
And the Wristblades NEVER melt in the comics or games.

Hell, like you, the fact that the Chopper Predator getting killed so easily due to it's carelessness is a very big letdown indeed. And on the other hand, it's also very sad to see that the Celtic Predator, due to it's cockiness got it's own head penetrated through by the Grid Alien's headbite.
As for Wolf Predator, it dons acid-resistant armor and equipment, so how can it be easily burned and scratched by Alien's acid blood?

And as for Wristblades, they aren't supposed to melt in comics and games, likewise for movies too. (The origin of the Alien vs. Predator series can be traced way back to the film "Predator 2" where Danny Glover discovered Alien skull trophies on the Predator's spaceship. The franchise itself, however, found it's way to comics and games)

Dude he's barely got enough armor to keep him from looking naked! If I were to class him from the system in AVP2 he'd b a light Pred. The armor he does have is so small, his chest plact only covers 1 pex. The thigh plates are small enough to use as code peices, and he doesnt even have armor on the back of his calf. The only thing armored is his back.

Then this is really strange or odd for a elite Predator to have a high resistance to acid blood despite the fact that it wears some parts of body armor like you've said.
And if I were to class Wolf Predator from the system in AVP2 game, it would be a standard Predator.

i can actully answer a little bit of this. At the end when Wolf comes onto the rooftop, he was meant to be fucked up, covered in blood and everything, but due to the rain it washed off again when Wolf stabbed the Predalien in the head, acid blood was meant to melt Wolf's hand off, but the acid washed away, after that wolf was meant to get his gauntlet thing and punches the Predalien's head off right when they explode from the bomb.

I loved Wolf, he makes me think of my hero Predator Slasher i made while making ab AVP2 fan script after AVP came out. In my story (which is copyrited btw) Slasher is Scar's old and much stronger brother, he's about as strong as Wolf

you can't really find it anywhere casue I'm talks with a friend on AVPgalaxy, who is in contact with John Davis. See my story won't fit anymore becasue of AVPR so I moved Slasher to a 4th movie, while my friend is actully talking to Jonh about AVP3.

I've got an entirly better idea.
Instead of doing direct sequals, I'm proposing doing an AVP movie that isn't a direct sequal to any of the alien and predator films, though it is hinted, but not confirmed.
And I'm in the process of making a independent film of the very script I wrote, no figures, all live action. I like to call it "AVP: Legend."
Reason why its called that is we're implying that the Alien in our film is the original, and the Predator is related to the original from '87.

Instead of talking about it, I'm going to just do it, and show my REAL directing skills and show everyone what I'm capable of. And hopfully get one of the producers from the original Alien movies to fund an avp film with me in the directors chair.
Jon Davis is cool, but AVP-R seemed to have deeply damaged most peoples idea on crossover movies. especially the 1's that don't read comics and play VG's. In which case, a clean slate might be what is needed, which includes everyone off camera.

Resident Evil is both a movie (the first and 3rd directed by Paul Anderson.) and a video game, though more popular as a game.
War is a sequal to the original AVP comic, where the main charactor hunted with Predators, and then betrayed them to save human colonists.

Ian Whyte played them both. They used the same skin suits and armor, they just added the belly plate to scar. (Some of the shots u can see the bullet holes from when Celtic got shot.)
