  • I'm now temped to have a coke right now, this commercial's great!

  • There's nothing like a sugar high!

  • im enjoying a coca cola now

  • I love older marketing especially old magazine advertisements because the old slogans and campaigns were just so interesting.

  • Yuppy Bastards!

  • Tippy Bastards!

  • Yes Ladies and gentlemen that's a proper amount of soda, not 45 ounces, not a super big gulp, that.

Now you know why you have to worry about weight loss.

Further more one, maybe 2 of those day.

  • america seemed so innocent back then...at least from TV

  • I can't believe that this brand took over our minds from the 50's.What do you see today in Somalia near a bearly standing house?A Coca Cola add!

If the aliens will visit the earth after the humans no longer exist, they would think that Coca Cola is our God, by the billions of visual depictions all over the world.

  • The first girl's face is the most unexpressive face that I ever seen in an old commercial. She seems to be in other world.

  • @FURY1958 Well do you really expect expressive faces from these commercial puppet actors?

  • @vo0sto0 I saw several old commercials and I must say that I saw actors more expressives than that girl.

  • i swear commercials these days are so short, this one felt like a mouthful of words

  • @wimbletone Yes, however, the broadcast was 15-minutes, and this was the only real commercial during that broadcast. (15-minute music shows like "Coke Time with Eddie Fisher" existed because newscasts, for some reason, were also 15-minutes long. At that point newspapers were the "major" source for news, something that would change as newscast production values improved).

  • Ahhh my eyes, it's called a bra!

  • Ive only been on the planet for 14 years but I wish I could have lived in the 50s and stuff, just think about how much better it was! It was ok to walk around all dressed up with a cane and hat and suit, and the world was almost perfect (besides ww2)

  • Good ol' memmories come beaming back!

  • This is so nostalgic. I was born in 1949 but I very much remember, as a kid the mood of the TV and radio ads of those beautiful time when the world was simpler and uncomplicated. Can we turn back the hand of time and relish those beautiful golden days?

  • @pedrocheal i think....if offered the chance....i would probably give ten years off my life to be able to go back to the 1950s...AND STAY THERE

  • @pedrocheal

you're white aren't you? It's ok, I agree the 1950's were pretty nice if you were middle class white. For the rest of us, we would prefer to live after the civil rights movement

  • God damn, she has a nice rack..

  • Dang - I can see that girl's nipples.

  • @store275 Isn't live TV great? Like in that old fridge ad, an actress tried to open the fridge door, and it wouldn't open!

  • @store275 Oh my god you can.

  • @store275

Yeppers, her headlights were on high beam!

  • @store275 thats her bra

  • No wonder they were so thin back when, just look at the size of the bottles.

  • 1:09 - get your foot off the table, i dont care how wicked cool you are!

  • Wow, a commercial where the people in it actually consume the product. Well, I assume that's coke he's drinking.

  • i live near the Needham Massachusetts bottling plant. The coke I have been getting since october 2010 has tasted awful. There is a pronounced after taste. My guess is that they changed the sweetner. I even sent them a letter and no response. I have been drinking about 6 cans of coke a day for over 40 years so I have a good idea about what it should taste like. I have been drinking Pepsi instead. Pepsi taste like shit but far better than the Coke I am getting out of Needham Massachusetts

  • @inkey2

Dude...if you've been drinking a 6 pack of Coke a day for 40+ years you must weigh 400 lbs and have diabetes

  • @TheJomogogo no actually I am 5 foot 10 and weigh 160 pounds. Basically I was drinking coke instead of eating because I was so busy at my job. I think it's like anything else.....just like some people will never get lung cancer even though they smoke and like some people will never become an alcoholic even though they drink.....probably has to do with genetics....nobody in my family is fat

  • Cocaine was removed from Coca-Cola in 1937.

  • Comment removed

  • It's what i thought it was , i didn't say thats what it was.

  • sorry i meant to say i "thought" it was.

  • @TheJomogogo

The cocaine was removed from Coca-Cola in 1903.

  • 1:08 check out this freak... fuck the coca cola.... this guy is mainlining coke.

  • 0:28 nice hard nipples!

  • yup wholesome energy. just enough cocaine to make ya perky but not addicted.

  • @gageoninja For the 1,957,013th time, cocaine had already been removed from the formula by this point. This is getting as annoying as those two people debating race on a 70s-era ABC-TV promo I uploaded.

  • @MattTheSaiyan Wait a minute, I saw the bottle go in and it went out. Was that the spot where they can refill their drinks OR maybe not? 'Cause I thought "Hm, did he refilled it up or what?". Love Coke-cola. =D

  • @gageoninja For the 1,957,013th time, cocaine had already been removed from the formula by this point. This is getting as annoying as those two people debating race on a 70s-era ABC-TV promo I uploaded.

  • @MattTheSaiyan aye but that original formula brought soft drinks into the market as it is today, so pepsi, and 7up wouldn't be here as it is now. opposition is the best seller. even thoe it was removed over 50 years prior. the taste sold it

  • @MattTheSaiyan exactly

  • @MattTheSaiyan yeah, the cocaine had been removed quite early in Cokes history. It was probably long gone even by 1930

  • I would rather watch these old commercials than the crap shows that are on now.

  • @MrDanlj Look a bit harder and in some stranger places, you might (though not certainly) find some current shows of appeal to you.

  • So, if I go out in the freezing cold, I should have an ice cold Coke? FUNK DAT! I want hot chocolate!

  • Get really braced- drink Bud!

  • I'd like to give that guy a "refreshing" kick in the ass!

  • i wonder if the taste is still the same after all these years its the only soft drink i drink thanks for this clip

  • @tracytcb111111111111 The change to a plastic bottle does harm it a bit, though glass-bottle Coca-Cola can still be found. The biggest change is going from sugar to High Fructose Corn Syrup in some parts of the world.

  • @MattTheSaiyan I agree. I like the ones from Mexico that are still sweetened with sugar

  • By the time he finally came out with the word "Coca Cola", I was already dozing off.

    get to the POINT, man!

  • fk i want a coke now...

  • Refillable glass bottles.

  • Why do I have a feeling that this guy wasn't such a "swell & nifty" guy when the camera wasn't on him? Just saying....

  • What were those bottles, like 8 oz? They hold less than a can does today.

  • Golly gee wiz I want a soda pop.

  • Yeees, there's nothing like a bottle of coke, for that ultimate refreshment. Now, to go check my hair and make sure nothing is in my teeth...

  • Coke still tastes good in Mexico, where high fructose corn syrup is prohibited, and it's made with regular cane sugar.

  • lol, this commercial is almost 2 mins, these days they're less than 30 secs!

  • @reesespieces22 In it's defense, the show, aired for a total of 15 minutes, of which about 12 minutes was show and the rest commercials, credits, opening and network ID.

  • Man! Chicks would be so easy to pick up back then....just ask if they want to go out and enjoy a wholesome bottle of coke by a fake fire & sway to some jingles. You'd be in like Flynn!

  • seems like at that time people were too dumb...or the media thought they were

  • Hahahaha

    Swaying

    Dear lord

  • i LOLed when they all started to gather and sway right to left while trying to drink. haha

  • @wimbletone Haha, got to love these old vignette advertisements. The 'actors' all pretending to be gabbing to each other, but silent, so as to not disturb the on-camera announcer giving his spiel. They actually had to spent much of the time choreographing these 2:00 productions and do them LIVE in one take. They didn't have the luxury of off-line editors in those days, so it was do it all in one take for the cameras and don't mess it up or your fired!

Oh yes, laughing and cajoling in silence. ;)

  • The best way to drink it too. In a glass bottle.

  • you should watch the "Coke keeps you thin" one.. i can't believe this. they actually thought that :S although people these days still don't know junk from good food/drinks

  • Comment removed

  • Also gives you kidney failure and diabetes

  • I don't think I have ever heard anyone describe a Coke as tasting "tangy." LOL!

  • Coca-Cola dropped using the coco leaf in the year 1903.

  • coca not coco

  • 1886 is when the dropped cocain

  • The Fact that Coca Cola was made with coco leaves wich is made into coco or cocain is why it was so addictive back in those days. Now coca cola has no cocain anymore just like McDonald's no longer makes there burgers from worms.

  • I don't know if you are joking, but Cocaine had, for all intents and purposes, been pretty much dropped from the formula long before this aired.

  • they stoped putting the coco leaf extract into the drink around 1890

  • @Canadian18plus I guess we can do without the cocaine Ni mor...but now, Coke contains hi-fructrose icorn syrup nstead of real sugar! And one nefr sees Coke in real green glass bottles anymore! Mostly plastic and metal cans! Yeech! "Classic Coke" is NOT Classic-- or efn "classy" Ni mor! "I need no kic from cocain / But hi fructrose corn syrup / Doesn't thril me at al / Y not / Classic Cok w real sugar, renu? / Only then / Coke / wil I get a Kick out of u!::

  • @canadian18plus

why dont you stomp on all ameracan cusoms?

  • @alistaroh

    I don't do that

  • where does the video originate from? like what website or archive. thanks

  • even though the formula ain't what it was when i was a kid, there truly is nothing like a Coke :)

  • I AM A CONSUMER WHORE!

  • I wish I was born in that generation

  • them fuckers look like they are high on coke

  • man,,,,i loved this era.....wholesome energy = sugar + caffene

  • lol ........ 2 wks later "ueehhhh no more coke!" the guy is like really fat

  • I don't know about the rest, but the young man who appears in the final few seconds is still alive, aged 81.

  • @MattTheSaiyan Looks like Eddie Fisher. Am I right?

  • @OldMrMemories Yep.

  • Comment removed

  • @tednguyen That's kind of an ignorant thing to say. People live into their 90s and 100s these days. Even if the people in this commercial were all around 25 or so, they'd only be in their 80s today.

  • That bright little lift was cocaine.

    Go figure.

  • I don't know if you are joking or not, but Coca-Cola already no longer had Cocaine long before this ad aired.

  • I was joking, because I knew they'd stopped, but my comment was on the original "pep" in the bottles. I should have been more deliberate and distinct with the time-frame.

  • I love coke. Pepsi is crap.

  • cokeacola is fucking amazing

  • cinicraft................hay, watch your language....do you really what to act cool with all the people reading your comment????as you mentioned it's amazing(without the bad word) along with 10 teaspoons of sugar on one bottle which equal's a TON OF CARBS. I know I used to drink this all the time and stopped back about 5 years ago at age 52

  • And for fast refreshment, there's just nothing like a shotgunning a frosty can of Red Bull."

  • I wish Red Bull was as old as Coke, because I would love to see the commercials they would have come up with back in the 50's. "Yeah, there's just nothing like ice-skating. It was wonderful fun way back in our Grandparent's day, and it's still the favorite winter recreation. Enjoyed by young and old, everywhere. Now time hasn't changed the fun of ice-skating, nor the need to stop now and then, rest up, and refresh.

  • somebody plese parody this into a rap!!!

  • these classics should be broadcast now again as a surprise !!

  • Yeah, I totally agree!

  • @2addicted2UTUBE yeah retro lol

that would be fun, and the adverts are more product based...i love it

  • @2addicted2UTUBE Really, 99% of commercials these days are done by computer, and many lack soul as well (for instance, Coke's current campaign almost feels robotic). Thank goodness for Youtube.

  • fifteen million a day? what the hell?!

  • hmm... nothing like drinkin' cocaine!

  • the commercials were long back then

  • The thing is, there were only 3 commercials during the entire program: One 15 second commercial, this long commercial, and a 30 second commercial. That means that during the 15-minute program, there was only 3 minutes of advertising.

  • kinda like the internets now, like hulu and video news websites.

  • Nuka Cola

  • Quantum tastes better

  • This is from an early 1955 Eddie Fisher "COKE TIME" broadcast (that's Fred Robbins pitching the stuff from that familar red cooler). Live commercials were the centerpiece of each show [although an occasional filmed ad was shown].

  • That was creepy to be honest.

  • if coke is wholesome energy then candy bars must be too lol

  • hahah =]

  • Wonderful fun back in our grandparents day! Back when they first discovered cold plus water equals ice!
