no, crossplaying (a guy cosplaying as a female character, or vice versa) is very common. We've definately had our share of crossplayers, so there's no need to be scared or anything.
and the majority of attendees there are nice people, so I doubt you'll get much criticism. If you do, there's always the security. :D
lol i didn't mess up. i gave her the coat because we made both anyways, and i decided to sacrifice accuracy so i could show off her costume more. plus, the star and scars were sorta coming off. thanks for uploading this BTW
I never noticed someone yelled "lier!" after I said "Not as much as I do"... lol but they messed up... Gene gives Mel his coat. not the one she wears later in the series....
is it considered gay if a guy goes to a convention dressed as a female character?
i was planning to go with a female freind of mine to a convention, me as gene, her as melfina...but see bailed on me
i never got to show off the costume, and i love melfina, so i wanted to go to another one dressed as her.......would it look really gay?

Awesome! I remember this one! X3 I screamed "Take it off!" and "The cake is a lie!" The dry ice they used was soooo cool! :D
